So Im about to leave Istanbul in less than 5 hours from now. My girlfriend left for Wisconsin this morning. My destination is Tehran. I managed to find a plug and wireless in a Gloria Jeans coffee shop in airport. Paid for the internet for around $10 and played some 100nl HU game and Im up like 500 which basically means my Tehran ticket is covered.
Turkey was nice. I went to this place close to Antalya and it was amazing. Mediterenian is just amazing. Istanbul city is also really cool. Specially if you've never been to a Muslim place.
I have TONS of pic since my GF just takes pics like crazy.
Im gonna post more pics and some stuff about the trip as soon as I get to some room in Tehran. For now just some sample pics.
The Great Hagia Sophia. Basilca turned church turned mosque. Burned down to the ground 2 times over the past 1500 years and still standing.
The Sultan Ahmed Mosque. Only 500 years old. Right next to Hagia Sophia. This was taken the next day from the hotel. During breakfast time.
Our hotel in Antalya. Nice place. This place used to be a resting place for the guests of the sultan in Antalya. It has been bought and renewed and now its a hotel.
Our Resort in another place. Great food. Great location. You can spend years here without getting bored.

Anyhow. Those are just a small sample of over 2500 pics that my girlfriend took!! I'll post more stuff. And some more pics like I said as soon as I get setteled in a place with a roof, a bed, a plug and internet conncetion.

Istanbul is one of the greatest cities in Europe I think only Vienna and Rome rival it (haven't seen Rome yet). The Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosk are amazing. Did you see the underground waterresevoir as well? That was pretty sweet too though not big it's very special. How about some pics of the palaces :D
I went to Istanbul last year (with teddy wong and a bunch of non-poker players if you remember him from PS/LP tourneys) and we had an absolute blast. We drove to Istanbul starting in The Netherlands passing by Budapest and a bunch of other places. |

Istanbul is not expensive. food and drinks are normal priced, hotels are cheap, and touristic stuff doesn't cost much either. |

ya Naz is right as usual. The price of the hotels are ranging from 100USD and up. A meal at a nice place for two can be around 60USD. At a normal place you can get a good food for around 40USD for two. If you goto normal places where locals hang out I can say you can get it down to even $20USD for two.
That other places that I was which has the picture of me and my girlfriend. It was all included at around 250USD a night. Everything was included and the quality of food was amazing. stuff included are food/swimming/archery/soccer/bowling/laying on the beach/ non alcoholic drinks and stuff like that. |
