Ever since i moved up to NL50 i only see nits. It seems like at every table there is 3 10/5s 3 20/10s and only 2 players that spew money. Is that normal? My graph has been dead set on 0. Up down up down, always 0 in the end. Is that just bad luck with table or do i have to adjust and loosen up?
I usually play FR but i also play 6m sometimes and it wasnt better at all. Same nits. Ive been changing like 20 tables a session, just running into same nits over and over.
I'm pretty much running like dogshit since I moved over to FTP yesterday. Two stacks down to shoved on flop combo draws, hitting turn, pairing board vs their set. Another stack to an over set, ahh just a shitty run so far. I'm playing with a gimped roll which sucks pretty bad.
Hurts when my leaks compound it obv. but c'mon.. AQ on Axx flop, I get 3bet, flat, check turn, they check back, 2 on river I vbet 1/2 pot they shove & I'm committed to pay off their SET OF FREAKING TWOS??? I guess the river was a check? I was expecting value from AJ/other ace rags
After 2 months of pokerby gororokgororok, September 16
So i've been playing poker for a little longer but I never really picked it up seriously, always cashed out quickly etc. Now I didn't and I plan on making it as far as possible. I started first week of august.
Hrmmm well I'll start off with poker
going well so far, FTP + rakeback should be really worth it at this level [50NL] Hopefully 100NL in a couple more weeks, I want to be deeply rolled because I will still dump a couple buy-ins on occasion. I'm working on combating that by taking more breaks during my sessions.
Unfortunately life is expensive, too expensive for 50NL ATM so I'm getting a new job [quit the bank a little over a week ago].
Other shit
----------
Lots of introversion by myself has paid off over the past week. I've come to closure about a lot of my own issues, mortality and where I fit in things being the biggest one. However I'm not very confident it'll last for long xD it never does.
School is hopefully coming up in January and I can't wait. I've read my old blogs and my old posts and I feel pathetic. I really do believe the last 2 years I've matured and finally have some fucking footing in my own life.
Bachelor life is treating me well xD except the apartment is getting a bit too messy for even my tastes [flashbacks to old dorm room with skot] but what can you do :
Playing a lot of DOTA + WC3 Again, let me know if you want to play. I'm still pretty bad since I haven't played either game in well over a year but I don't think it takes too long to get back into the swing of things, or thats what I keep telling myself, maybe I'm getting too old for video games now :[
Well, I'll keep you updated on pokar + life
<3 CIAO
Seriously, what in the fuck is going on here? I'm really trying to keep it all together but this is absolutely insane. The last 30k hands have been the most frustrating i've ever played. I cant recall all the time i've gotten run over in these past 15 days of retardedness. Seems like everything i do is going fucking wrong
I bet hard to protect my hands and end up betting my 2nd nuts into the nuts, overpairs into sets, and people just doing unbelivable fucking moves like flatting 3bets oop with garbage and check shoving with draws and getting there....
pot control lines end up getting run over on dry boards, hand protection lines get destroyed on draw heavy boards, i just cannot fuckin beat this game anymore. I'll admit it takes ALOT to make me get frustrated in poker, i have a pretty strong constitution and a firm grasp on variance in this game, but this is getting super unbelivable. I've beaten these stakes over 90k hands before, I've been sweated by a few midstakes buddies who just say "standard, youre just running bad, etc" and i've gone over my hands over and over, in medium and large wins / losses. I've cut down from 12 tables to 10, to 8.
It just seems like i keep getting myself into ridiculous situations. Today was the first "breaking point" i've had in 1.5 months since i returned to grinding poker. Session started off innocently enough with a set over set - that's fine and completely standard and it happens. I proceed to get set over set'd 2 more times within a 500 hand sample before i step back and go, uhhh...
Went for a walk to calm down, then proceeded to get into a bunch of brutal situations that dropped me another 3 BI within 500 hands.
i alt f4'd at this point
Anyway, i havent even looked at my HEM or stats for today's session, i just wish that this would be over. September has been insanely frustrating as far as internet poker has gone. i really should quit for the rest of this month, blegh
god ranting feels good. ignore this post its just whining.
I'm overwhelmed.. don't have nothing to say really. I have no idea about anything. I don't even know anymore if I'm running bad or not, coz this is lasting a while compared to anything so far.
I mean, if someone knew for a fact that this is just tougher games, I'd quit poker now and never play again coz frankly.... meh.. it doesn't matter. I'll move down tomorrow.
i broke someones foot with my shinbone in a sparring ....
interesting thing is we both had full protection gear on ( shin + foot protection)
And since we were sparring we didnt go 100% power with our kicks and punches...
he makes a low kick i block with my shinbone
His foot hits my shin -> foot breaks
He was new to MMA but had a decent KungFu background >-<
i think he wont do a low kick with the foot ever again
help me transfering money from FTPby Night[Mare], September 15
Hi folks. I finally achived the 1000 ftpp to manage my 100$ free bonus. Unfortunately the last day when i was 80 ftpps shorti hit a terrible losing streak and went from 150$ to 30$. I managed to recover 16$ at the very end, but i decided not to play anymore because the rake is so bloody insane at NL10 (the lowest limits). So im stuck with 46.20$.
I cant tranfer the funds to neteller because the minimum is 50$. I thought i could transfer the money to another player and then transfer it back to pokerstars, but that way i couldnt take advantage of the +50 bonus you get on the deposit.
I was wondering if someone could help me get my funds on neteller so i could deposit them further into pokerstars. It comes to mind that you could lent me 3.8$ on ftp or maybe deposit 46.20$ directly in my neteller acct and then i tranfer you on ftp the ammount or w/e.
Atlantic City Trip Report and moreby thewh00sel, September 15
So I went to AC for Borgata's Poker Open, and I had a decent time. Got to hang out with an old friend and meet up with a friend from online who i've known a while. The tournaments were not very successful.
Recap: The $2,500 tourney we got 15k to start with and hour blinds. The levels accelerated slowly then they doubled from 100-200 to 200-400 with antes which sucked. They need to add 150-300 or something. Anyways, I made it to 400-800 and had a 20k stack when this hand happened. Im sb with QJdd, button retard opens for 2200, i call bb folds. Now to give some history, the button is awful. He has poker tattoos and says poker is his life...but he's awful. was consistently making it 4k to go at 200-400 with a 9k stack and was calling a preflop raise and open jamming into the raiser on QT8 boards with 66 or AK3 board with 99. It was very confusing.
So anyways, i call in the sb and the flop comes down KJ3 rainbow. I check to him and he fires out 7k which is standard for him. I was going to check shove but i figured he's bad enough to try and bluff the turn when i call so i call. turn is a brick, he shoves just like i expected and i called with QJ and he flipped KJ for top 2 GG main event.
In the 500 I just got blinded down and shoved/lost.
Cash games were fairly brutal I got it all in with AA twice in reraised pots and ran into sets on the lowest boards. Also got it in with KK in a reraised pots when i was reraised by 55 and he flopped quads.
Well actually the KK hand was kind of funny bc he RR pre and i just called in pos. flop 955 he checked i bet he called, he checked J turn i bet 500 he called, river 9 i still have 1k behind and he fires out 500 like an idiot, im obviously calling 1k if im calling 500. So he cost himself 500 there.
I managed to grind back that 4500 in losses at 5/10 in my next session when I got a couple of my big hands paid off and hit trips vs two pair on K high flop with AK.
So after my third shot at NL50 everything has just been really shitty. In that last try, I lost around 4.5 buyins in a few hundred hands.. I ran REALLY bad. imo I played good though. After that, I moved back down to NL25 and lost another few BI. So at the end my roll was about 750.. Managed to get it back up a bit but ever since it has been fluctuating between 800 and 900. I have put in a hell of a lot of hours and hands.. but it's just so swingy and I end up breaking even. I am now doubting my play and I know I have been playing a bit bad.. due to frustration I guess. I suppose I am spewing too, but I just don't know how to correct what I'm doing.
The combination of non-optimal play (I don't feel I am doing anything different from before but it just seems like it's not optimal anymore. everyone seems to like playing back at me and shit idk) and running bad (well I am on no heater that's for sure) is just really killing it. And I do think my post flop really needs more improvement.
Also my stats seem to indicate that I've tightened up. I just feel really weak in the games atm and nothing is working out..
Here are some graphs/tables from the past hell week:
Can anyone see any clear indications of what's going on here? Obviously the non-showdown winnings shows that I am spewing a lot.. But ya to anyone willing, please help!!! It's driving me nuts.
i found a way to get a such a high bb every single time omfg. lol obv im not sharing it ! If not for the god damn hand posted below, i would be at least 30bb again
anyway this is the reason i play limit. getting ur money in good and getting sucked out for ur whole stack. whereas in limit its just a few big bets. i fucking hate getting sucked out on in huge pots. really pisses me off so much that i just dont even wanna play nl anymore

and i would say i made some really good plays getting better hands to fold. (obv im folding to any aggression) my favourite hand winning the pot with 27o rofl. this is one situation where i think making miniraises are very good. obv im repping AK and the board is paired its so unlikely he has that K. i believe he had a lower pocket pair in this hand.

in this hand i put him on a weaker made pair or some type of fd. i open strongly so i certainly was repping hand strength. i dont know the maths but i think if he folds here half the time this bluff is good.

WTF? A WINNING DAY FOR ONCE?by WilsWils, September 15
After a super sick last 15k hands @ 50nl FR , finally booked a couple small wins in two seperate sessions today. It isn't much, but mentally i feel i played very well, and despite a couple wrong reads in a couple huge pots where i made some mediocrely -ev plays, namely:
Flatting a 3bet from a very liberal blind defender with 79cc when we only had 100 bb's deep, a huge huge huge huge mistake. Obv i flopped an open ender and for 79cc that's like the nuts and youre not getting away in a 3bet pot. He fires 2/3 and i flat (not too bad with >200bb stacks, but with 100bb it was a terrible move by me again), turn is a 9 and obv i get it in with my remaining stack. AA obv. I should have folded but for some reason my brain went on autopilot and i shipped him a BI when i 100% did not need to.
Another badly played hand by me was raising AJcc EP, cbetting KQ9cc, and then check shoving turn. I feel it's better to either open shove turn or bet / call turn : - he showed up with KQ and i whiffed on the river...questionable play by me -> if i shove the turn im only getting called by 2p+ ..wasn't really sure how to play, on reflection i guess i was going broke if i was betting the turn anyway.
Maybe c/c flop, c/c turn? :/ such a weak line tho
Past those two brutal spews, i'm very happy with how i played tonight's session, i had to do several out of line plays simply because of the opponents i was playing against - only one or two players really gave me trouble but i think if i spend a bit more time playing i'll be able to figure it out. i want to get back to 100nl so badly T_T
Regardless, getting over my -12BI downswing at FR was such a great confidence booster; after 9 days straight of brutal coolers and insane rollercoaster variance i finally booked a win >>
the worst beat i've ever takenby failsafe, September 14
I'm at Quizno's. I've just received my sandwich, and I'm walking outside to grab a table. I hadn't noticed when I came in, but as I step out the door I see that the tables outside don't have chairs - not to mention that it's ridiculously humid. So I walk back inside with my sandwich in my left hand and pull out the chair with my right. As I sit down in the chair it instantly gives way and attempts to throw me unceremoniously to the floor. I instantly throw my right hand down in order to save myself from being sandwiched lol!!! by my sandwich. My acrobatic display rescues both myself and the sandwich, and I'm looking down staring at the chair when suddenly my hand erupts into the strangest pain ever.
As I'm rotating my hand to look at it, I'm replaying the memory of catching myself. I remember feeling the cool ceramic tile on the tips of my fingers, but the sensation in my palm is something different. That's when I remember that I just had carpal tunnel surgery, and there's a massive slit it my hand (masturbation joke or something), but no really there's a two inch long incision down my palm, and I'm turning my hand over just waiting to see it torn open and blood gushing. Anyway when I finish turning my hand toward my face, I see that it is not in fact torn open or gushing blood, but the stitches have torqued the skin in a pretty sick way.
The manager is asking me "are you ok?" and I'm replying with "yeah, but I just had surgery on my hand." All the while the pain in my hand is getting worse and worse. After a couple seconds I start to wonder when it's going to chill out, but it continues to get worse. So I'm sitting staring at my sandwich staring at my two friends who are at a total loss of words as they realize what happened. The Quizno's manager is giving me this vacant stare that says he's not processing how hand surgery and catching my entire upper body weight on the incision could possibly be problematic.
I'm of course not at all hungry, and am just staring at my sandwich, which - I notice - is oozing with way too much mayonnaise [wtf weird word (WWW, anyone find that suspicious?)] and it's been sloppily constructed. Meanwhile I'm staring at the palm of my hand. It hasn't suffered any obvious damage, so I'm just expectantly staring, waiting for the numbing pain to subside. So, anyway, the bad beat.
I'm sitting here staring at my hand when the door opens and a cute blond girl steps in, smiling at me. I guess she's mistaken my charming "FML" grimace for a charming grin, but anyway our eyes meet and then she orders her sandwich, still staring at me. I don't know what it is with girls and perfectly timed "smiles" but once that moment occurs they're determined to meet you, even if after that moment you're acting like a lobotomy patient staring at your hand and wondering when the ridiculously exaggerated pain is going to subside.
I take a bite of my sandwich, holding it in my clumsy left hand. Lettuce and tomatoes fall out, and I curse Quizno's for their poor craftsmanship. Somehow the sandwich manages to taste disgusting, so I give it up as a bad venture and walk over to the cashier. For insurance, I decide to file a complaint with the manager in case their broken chair perma-fucked my nerve. At least if my hand is going to be permanently numb, then masturbation will be more fun, and now I'll be able to take advantage of the United States' bad beat jackpot: the trial lawyer. I smile at the fanciful idea of making a few million off a broken chair and a numb hand, and remind myself to make the best of the situation. I assure the manager that whatever I decide to do, the blame will fall on Quizno's ownership and not him. I don't really have any intention of taking advantage of this, but the girl is finding the exchange amusing or something, and keeps trying to assert herself. So I ignore her.
Eventually I talk to her, and after a short converation she gives me her number. I had my Beijing opera penguin t-shirt on, so it was pretty much a lock from the start, but I guess her being a freshman was probably an assist. Unfortunately, when I think of her, my only association is with the mind-numbing pain shooting through my palm during the conversation and when I first saw her come in.
Actually the negative association with this girl isn't the worst beat. As I'm leaving the parking lot, I'm tilting verging on insane. The exchange with the girl hasn't really cheered me up. I suck at parallel parking situations, and I've been in China for two months. Asians are bad influences in this regard. So I pull halfway out of the parking spot after a quick glance at the mirror. Of course I have no space. So I tilt more, and reverse. I have enough space to exit the space now, so I do. As I'm half way out, my friend in the backseat says "stop." I stop. I hear tires squealing. I wish I'd just kept going. After what seems like an eternally long tire squeal, I see a truck do a 180. I'm vaguely surprised that he can still fishtail so hard after his brakes have been screeching for eternity. Anyway the back of his truck slams into the front quarter panel of my car. -$800.
My hand is still fucked up. There's no way I'll ever call the girl. And, I have to replace my car's quarter panel. Thank god Raszi posted that adorable hamster eating that piece of broccoli otherwise I'd probably be loading the gun now.
I just finished playing in a UK only 500man satellite that I qualified for to the London EPT Main Event. There was a $6000 added prize pool too and I came 2nd!!!
The guy who won it was SO bad. When we got down to 3handed. he min3bet me and i put him on a big pocket pair. I called with my ace rag and he shoved a flop of Axx. I put him on KK/QQ and indeed he turned QQ over. Obv Q comes to put me 3/3. That hand would have given me a 6 to 1 chiplead heads up
I build it back up and I get shorty all in K8 vs Q8. Q on river
Moron takes out 3rd guy and it gets to heads up with him having 6:1 chip lead. I get chip lead in about 5/6 hands with only 1 showdown. We then go back and forth for small pots and eventually get in all in my A9 vs his AT and he holds.
$750 for 2nd
Winner got $1000 + EPT package including hotel etc worth approx 12k apparently
