Life bad beat - knee surgery by Gawuss, December 06

Well, it happens - what can I do ? It's not because of an injury, actually I don't know if there's any reason of this disease. It is called Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Knee (actually of the knee-cap).
Here's the X-Ray:

http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1883/dsc03182fd2.jpg

I'm going to undergo an operation - probably just before Christmas. Hopefully everything will be allright. However, I can't go snowboarding this year. It sucks hard cause I wanted to go to Alps so badly this year :/ Dammit !

I was going to post a poker-update but I guess I'll do it later. My knee is more important.

Peace,
Mike

NL50 vid + updates by edzwoo, December 06

1 hour 14 min session of me playing 9 tables of NL50 with no audio. I played two more sessions 4 tabling and trying to make a video there and voice recording it, but I ended up accidentally blowing both of them up . So yeah, short summary of the video:

  • Played 17/14, so pretty loose for a fullring player
  • Some nice calls with A high or 100th pair
  • Some horribly played hands (I can think of like 4 hands I butchered)
  • Getting stacked by rockman255 but seriously considering folding JJ on AJ2 (LOL)
  • Making a note on a fish that he limpraises KK, then the very next hand doubling him up when he limpminraised AA vs my JJ.
  • Making some reallllllly donkey looking plays, but I swear most of them had reasoning behind it. Ran hot and hit with all my semi-bluffs (c/c c/minraise w/ gutshot and hit on the river lololol)

Here's the link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4A433BJY

I was using driveway but my upload failed like 3/4 of the way through

Anyways here's the updates, I've been running sick hot for the last few days, and I also played like 100 hands of heads up where I went up a buyin. Whenever I get it all in with the best hand, it almost always holds, so no bad beats for me .

In my last two 4 tabling sessions, I decided to play 6max style in fullring, and although EV states otherwise, I really think it was really profitable. I was running like 36/28 at one table . People just fold to cbets sooooooooo much, and when the regs start peeling lightly on the flop, they just insta fold to any decent card for a double barrel. Maybe I should go back and play a little 6max.

A leak I've realized is that I sometimes try to put up a reasonable range for a 40vpip+ donk, but half of them are actually peeling the flops with random cards. So if a K turns I might see it as a good double barreling card, but they actually peeled with some weird K6 or something. Some of the really weak tight sort of ones might play postflop very straightforward, but some of them simply can't be bluffed, and I try it anyways.

Anyways, here are some pics of my results:

The Real Black Friday by RICHI8, December 06

For most people last Friday was Black Friday, but today was Black Friday for me. Since converting from FL to 6max NL I have put in 13k hands at 6max NL10. When I first started playing I shot up like 7bis in my first 2.5k hands, but from 5k hands until today I was in the red, as embarrassing as that is to admit.

For those of you that don't know what Black Friday really means, it means its a day that retailers use to discount merchandise heavily in order to get out of the red for the year and get into the black (profit). I know poker is only measured in red and green, but from an accounting stand point black is green to me and I'm just happy to finally be out of the fuckin' red!

I know most of you probably don't care about what I just said, so here's another funny picture:

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll208/rbishop87/kobebryant.jpg

God, that guy is so happy he caught that fish. If you look closely the name of that picture is kobebryant.jpg. There's a little story that goes along with why I named it that.

I'm always messing with this one girl I know and we were on AIM and I hadn't talked to her for like a week. I told her while I was away that I was going fishing with my grandpa and that he caught a huge fish. Of course she was interested in the picture and I linked her to that pic. Her initial reaction was "oh wow impressive..." followed by "WAIT ONE SECOND." Rofl.

But it doesn't stop there. She's a HUGE Los Angeles Lakers fan and I absolutely love fucking with her and giving her all kinds of shit for it since I am a Boston Celtics fan. Well, we were chatting one day and I came across this beauty of a picture and couldn't resist. I told her it was a new picture that Kobe did for an ad and sent the link only for her to be surprised by 80 year old cack once again.

Playing nl25 seems to of completely ruined me at nl10, what in the world?

I've been running pretty bad, but it doesn't explain all of it. Really weird IMO. Going to cut back down on tables and see wtf is going on O_O

This is just getting old by Cooperstown, December 05

The bottom two are some highlights, ran into like 8 sets 3 of which were set under set. It's getting really really really old running like utter fucking shit. I'd go dig for the idiot that shoved bottom pair and it a river two pair for a little over a buyin but I don't wanna look at hands right now.

Stake Post by jase, December 05

edit: Got a stake, going to keep this here though to motivate myself.

Been tossing with the idea to do this, I've asked people on MSN for a stake as I didn't want to do this publicly, but it's had to come to that, as it seems all the people I talk poker with are downswinging at the moment

I play 6max NLHE. I've beaten 25NL, 50NL over a considerable amount of hands (over 100k), at 100NL I won over 40k hands but then epicly ran bad and I'm not quite convinced I can beat this level of the game yet.
I have access to a Deucescracked and Cardrunners account and have been trying to watch at least a video every 2-3 days. I consult with people on MSN about hands, general strategy and anything else I have questions about, and have learnt a LOT from these people (lachlan, semper, Python, djforever, kimseongchan, rockman + anyone else I forgot).
I've just started a new job which is a lot, LOT less time intensive than my previous one so I feel I'll be putting in more hands than ever, I'm hoping to be able to play at least 25k hands/month 10tabling 25NL or 6tabling 50NL.

The reason I need a stake is this; 6 weeks ago I was playing 50NL with a 50buyin roll, over the course of a month (about 20k hands) I lost over half my roll, I trawled through stats, consulted people with hands and basically was crying out for help anywhere I could. I felt like utter crap so I cashed out a little and moved back down to 25NL, over 20k hands at 25NL I lost 18 buyins and gave up. Again, I went over and over stats, my graph shows I am down well over 10buyins in EV and as for the other 8, I honestly couldn't tell if I was spewing or just running badly.

As far as graphs/stats go I am limited in what I can provide, I have my old PT2 graphs from 25NL, 50NL and some 100NL but hands from the past 6 weeks got lost in transit to my new computer. All the last 6 weeks show is a breakeven EV line and a -$14984190741097 graph anyway.

PM me to talk terms, would offer access to my stars account 24/7, access to HH's, whatever is needed. Now for some graphs/stats that I've been able to dig up from old blog posts:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4c107d2569e922f7594eaf7539557843.jpg
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4bf6162fabef14dc5c3852bfbbf63755.jpg

PS. Some of my previous blog posts talked about cashing out for RL reasons which were all true, however, now that I have been fortunate enough to be chosen for this new job I am earning a lot more and will no longer need to touch any money that I happen to have online
Right now I am determined to beat this game, I am not satsified with how I played for the last 6 weeks and I want to rectify this. I can beat this game.

PPS. While I haven't asked them I'm sure most of the people I mentioned above would vouch for my credibility also.

Win win win by PplusAD, December 05

yeha i win

Today + 60$ making last 16/17 sessions into greeeeeeeen
+ winning 2/3 FPPs for another 21.34 $

-------------

+ 81.34 $ today

up 310$ this month so far in 5,3K hands 4 days NL50
pretty okay results > 5BB/100

However i still dont understand what happend on Ipoker September + October.

From being probably in TOP 5 of the biggest winner at NL50 Ipoker and being a solid 4BB/100 Nl100 reg in July + August
on the edge of becomming a Nl200 reg
I suddenly got crushed every day every hand and turned into one of the biggest losers BB/100 wise of these limits
At the end i was not sure anymore that i can beat NL25

I got so hardcore soulcrushed

Well its over now and i am almost back at Nl100

still i feel an overwhelming pain in my heart when i think about what happend in these months
I feel soulraped.

no joke.

New monitor, New month, New money by 100Large, December 05

So my sugar mami got my new monitor, and its bad assssss,it so big, i'm use to playing on 17 and 19 inch monitors. So it feels extra nice to play poker and games on a big wide screen. The use the monitor as a TV too, and will be watching all of LOST, Heroes, True blood and Entourage that i downloaded.
She also got us floor tickets for the raptors game vs boston coming up, im pretty excited for that too, i haven't been to a raptors game in over a year.
It feels really good to get stuff for free, when nothing in my life was given to me, i've had to work for everything i own.

So November did not go as planned, i had a few goals, such as reaching silver star, taking successful shots at nl25. Unfortunately i fulfilled none of those, i ran into a few road bumps, i lost 160 playing 1/2 live which really tilted me, so i cashed out 100 from stars to make up for that loss.

So this month i am aiming for:

-Silver star
- 25nl shot
- BR of $500

I don't have as much time as i did in the past to play poker, as i am working more now, but i try to grind before and after work (not sure how effective this is) So far the start of DEcember has been a little rocky, but its just variance and coolers, it doesnt bother me. I'm winning at nl10, and will so this month.

NO CASHOUTS OR TRANSFERS TO FRIENDS!!!

Boobs! by dejokah, December 05

(If you are only here for the boobs just scroll down)

I'm currently 14BI+ considering i started playing last friday that's 2BI per day wich i think is pretty good, I'm gonna try and play a good number of hands and probably will be playing NL10 anytime this weekend.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/3948c6254f793ac21bf5db2e9c7134bb.jpg

I tilted a little bit during a session something that had not happend yet (meh) this cost me 4 BI, the hand that made me stop playing was when i raised pocket 10s MP and some guy RR me, i called and reraised him AI on the flop with the board AKJ rainbow, i mean after you do something that stupid you just gotta stop playing. (He had KK btw)

Starting to come together by RICHI8, December 05

I had the last 2 days off from work and I played a little over 3k hands. I ran pretty much break even until the end of my session last night where I got raped by the hand of god. As far as actually playing though, I feel like I'm making better decisions and seeing things from different angles. I'm still technically a losing player at NL10 but I haven't really been running good.

One thing more than the actually game of poker skill in general that I think I'm getting better at is self control. I have implemented a stop loss rule of 3bi and have been sticking to it fine. I've only had to use it a couple times, both times when I took the break for a few hours and came back I was fortunate to win most of it back.

The other +EV thing about playing tons of poker is that I'm out drinking less. Another one of my personal goals is to get in better shape. I'm no where near fat but I live in California and my beach body is starting to lack. Basically my life lately has been consisting of work, sleep, and going to the gym. I still plan to go out on the weekends because I do enjoy having a social life.

Also on my day off I took my car out for a drive through the mountains here in San Diego. All in all a very enjoyable drive with crazy ass turns for some scary excitement.

I got a quick session in today in between work meetings. All was going well until the hand of god tried to rape me again. Look at this shit!

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll208/rbishop87/dec05.jpg

Seriously over 40 hands I got pizowned all in situations where I was way ahead. It happens though. Luckily one big hand held up and I was back in the green for the day. On a lighter note when I was uploading that to my photobucket I found this pic:

http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll208/rbishop87/thatsakeeper.gif

LOL god that never gets old.

dec is treating me like a ..... by ConquistadoR, December 05

This month couldnt have start worse! I had great plans, wanted to establish a solid NL50 bankroll for moving up but instead of that i get CRUSHED.
My tiny bankroll got owned a lot, i am very bad rolled now and had to move to NL10 again, now i remember why I used to hate FTP back in the days. Well, Im waiting for my rakeback from November to kick in, and im hoping that the luck will eventually change.
I really need a good streak or something, because playing with a small br all the time is pressuring me a lot and i tend to get affected by losses much easier.
So..... my new goal is to play around 50-60K hands this month and not to lose my BR haha .

Heres the sweet graph so far.

Considering the Change by EXCELED, December 05

I havent played NL in probably 3 months. My variance in LHE over the past couple of days has been so sick so I said what the hell lets play some NLHE for a bit. I am rolled for .10/.25 so I braught up some tables. I ended up playing 2 sessions for the day in NLHE.

The first session I was just kinda getting the feel of things again. NLHE is a very tight game compared to LHE 6 Max. I actually felt pretty good in these games and also felt that I probably had a bit of an edge over most of the guys at the table because well... they were shit. I ended up making 3 BI this session.

I had a hockey game later on in the day and when I got home my buddy was playing and said he had an amazing table with 2 huge stacked fish. I joined up and he was right. These guys were bad... really bad. I waited very pateintly and eventually I doubled up vs one of them. I kept isolating these fish to get them HU and again I doubled up! By this time it was 430am and I was pretty happy with how much progress I made today so I called it quits.

I had a lot of fun playing NLHE yesterday. My first day back to NLHE 6 Max I managed to make 6 BI! Im not sure if Im running amazing or what but I found myself in a lot of great spots when I was playing and didnt really have a lot of hard decisions to make. I think Im going to keep trying NLHE for all of next week and see how she goes. Maybe I should have been playing NLHE all along? Dunno... I shall see. Im going to get a good hand sample and put up my stats for you guys the analyze. Im going out for some lunch right now but when I get back Im going to give it a go.

So lets make today day 2 of NLHE:

Total Hands: 1158
Earnings: -$49.00

starting to even out... by whamm!, December 05

after running like fucking horse ass since my tourney win, i hit a huge heater tonight playing 100nl - finally!!! ship le 11bi day lol.
actually im break even since november but i have about 1k in rb to get this weekend and getting real close to that 3k milestone too. moving up to 200nl once that happens and not gonna promise anymore just post hands soon im pretty confident that its really just like 100nl just bigger monies and same players almost. need to get tips from exhilirate and lachlan on teh tricky regs there before finally planting myself and just stay there for good, fuck ive been playing 100nl since feb and jst crossing down to 25nl everytime i hit a bad run, lately i dont do that anymore, so i think ive finally somehow learned to deal with variance a little better now. raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawr

It's nice to run good sometimes by Benzooor, December 05

Raised to 50$ in a 2/5$ live game with KK, got called by 34s, flop 446, he let me bet into him two streets and I hit a river K. mmmmmm

Super-loose guy waiting to get into high-stakes game somehow ends up with KK against my AKs when we get it all-in PF, and I hit an ace. mmmmmm

In the last two months, casino profit has paid for rent, all of my food, put the down payment on my new car, and bought my christmas presents.

Why the fuck am I still going to my 9-5 job? Lol, I have 3 paychecks just sitting in my bank account because I haven't used them.

Running hot, moving up to nl200 by gororokgororok, December 05

So after a big downswing I learned a lot and came out a better player I think. Started to grind a lot on nl100 and ran pretty fucking hot! So after 100k hands on NL100 i've made 3.6k profit without rake. That's pretty fucking low but I ran bad for at least 60k hands of those. Now my roll is a little over 5k and gonna take my first nl200 shot. Waited sooo long for this! I'm very very excited about it. If I lose more than 5 bi's I will drop back to NL100. If I lose 2-3 bi's when I'm done with the session I will regrind this on NL100 as well, unless I feel I have a big edge on the players but just ran bad. Here's my graph of december lol. Sweeeeeet run.

Any hints for the next limit? Wish me luck!
