So I tried stacking tables for the first time and masstabling like my hero JoeIngram does.
I must say that its a completely different experience than when having all tables tiled.
Every hand is played in isolation, and you almost never see results.
Its hard to tilt when you don't know that you got sucked out I must tell you, and playing stacked tables seems much easier than having them tiled as you have only one focus point and you don't have to search for hands on the screen (I am always under threat of hypertilt when I play 12 tables tiled and I see all of them)
Still, I need some practice doing this, and I will do 1-2 practice sessions per month on 10-15 tables to see if I am capable of playing well at NL50-NL100 like this.
There is absolutely no need whatsoever to multitable while I have a fulltime job as my goal is a mere $700/month including rakeback for next 9 months and skill>>>profits, but when I turn student again and will play 8+ hour sessions it will be nice to have the opportunity to grind it out when I am tired of 4-6 tabling and when reaching milestones.
Two things that have changed; the same regs are adjusting well and not letting me run them over in 3bet pots, and I'm running really bad.
Got a bunch of those standard fish calling turn shoves with gutshots and regs stacking off dominated, but meh don't really care since I played those hands fine. Ran something like 1200 under EV.
Buuuuut I'm timimg my squeezes and light 3bets badly and I've had problems pulling the trigger for the third barrel or the 5bet shove (did it twice, BrocheN called me super light with a mid Ace and I binked a K with K9 or K4, something like that, second time it worked). So even if I ran normal, I don't think the way I've been playing would give me very good results (which makes me really sad).
The other big thing is I haven't been table selecting at ALL, which definitely has to be killing my winrate. I'm going to be starting tables again instead of sitting at random tables with an empty seat.
Gonna have to turn this around tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Any advices ? I'm currently sitting with 265 and decided to move down when i get like 240 or something.
Just want to take a shot and see what it feels like, but any additionnals advices are really welcome ! http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6914/sanstitrejq.jpg
Czech Ladies Championship- Czech Poker Festivalby SmartDonkey, December 03
24.11. I played Czech Ladies Championship: buyin $130 and 64 players. I finished 3rd and won about $1400, best thing - I won cup .
All Girls played so tight, after 2 hours of playing first girl drop out. I succesfully tried to exploit their tightness.
I Droped out allin pf with A9 to KQ, flop comes KKK and that meant end in this tournament.
I have 24k pts left to go for nova while grinding @ nl100. I've decided to just take a break off poker for the rest of the month, or atleast finals are over. Gonna organize poker plans/goals/routines for the year of 2010.
It seems that it's too risky for me to mass table nl100 to reach nova. There's a high chance for a player like me to become broke. If i had 10K points left to go or something I would definitely strive for it by 4-6 tabling. I've learned a lot about poker from playing 100's of thousands of hands from the nl2 and up, from this forum, and from watching a lot of vids on cardplayerpro. I came to realize when I mass (9+ tables imo @ 6max) a lot of stuff I learn doesn't get used it my thought process since i'm rushing most of the time.
Next year i plan to be more focus and even more serious about poker. I'll be more strict on my tabling, and try to be more patient with poker in general. Hopefully i'll end up playing something 600k-800k hands for next year and show a decent, consistent winrate. Playing poker has earned me almost $4K (with the help of a lot of bonuses) for the year while I had part time jobs and school, but I should've earned so much more if I hadn't tilted/spewed so much and play beyond my limits.
No more excuses.
The year 2009 was my year for getting introduced into the internet poker world. I've read poker books already and put in thousands and thousands of hands at the slums. 2010 will be the year goals will be made and accomplished.
Obviously standard but pretty crazy for a relatively small sample size. Just whining a little bit. Also wanted to rebump because everyone should watch the doubles game I posted at the bottom of my November post - it's really entertaining and probably one of the coolest games of all time.
Taxes and you: The untold storyby SCC-Faust, December 03
Srsly now, when do I claim taxes?
I've read so much bullshit on this subject and learnt nothing. I'm withdrawing $25 a week and haven't been paying taxes because it is such a meager amount.
However, I know when it comes to making money in other things than a job, once you exceed $600 in a year, you need to fill out a W-9 form. So how do you guys do it? What happens when I want to cash out over $600?
I asked my father just to see what he'd say and he is like "just pay taxes at the end of the year". Either way WTF someone guide me please this shits gay.
had like 55k at 500/1k blinds. big stack raise utg and idiot calls i squeeze to 11.5 bink a QJ9r board. Checked to big stack and he bet 15k, other guy folds and I ship. Guy calls with TT and rivers the T
Since i got so much hate for my last blog, heres some more:
Tale of over aggro Monkey
I am raising under the gun
I got Ace Queen suited, jsut for fun
I get 3bet, I shove it in
Lets see the board
I hope it won't get too mean
He turns over,
Ace and King
Flop,turn and on the river,
QUEEN!
Hell yeah i win!
Cos in poker, its all luck
If you got skill
I dont give a fuck
Ill suck out,
And ill take ur cash
I got outs
And you got smashed
So dont you fucking play
Out of your roll
20 buyins min, or you be gone
And dont you cry to mamma
If you got set over set
It's only 100 big blinds
And we've just met
So why dont you reload
For all of your roll
Variance is God
Do'ya wanna call?
I almost can feel it
I am running hot
Cos im banking
And you're not
The dealer is sweatin'
I get suited 6 and 8
I raise, get 3betted
Tell dealer to wait
In a spur of a moment
I push in my stack
I read his expression
Its clearly "FUCK!"
Cos the only way to go
Is to be aggressive
I can hear crowds whisper
"Thats way impressive"
He calls with Ten Ten
Again I suck out
I told you, its a game of chance
I pack my shit and get out.
(aka hit and run lol)
I just can't believe this, wtf.
I got this game about 5 years ago for free with my PC magazine in Czech Republic that sold for $8 back in the day.
I never finished it because there was a bug probably that didn't allow me to solve one riddle. Now I am like wtf I have nothing to play and the new games largely suck, so I go online to buy it.
I had to pay $35 incl. postage, its a 'rare game' now.
Well I got it now and I have goose bumps from just watching the Intro.
I love the depressing story, morbid world, shit ton of talking, RPG stats, items, the fact that you can change your body parts and the funny dialogues between the main characters.
Lets dig deep to the times where graphics meant squat, and precise 2D animation, and most of all really awesome complex story with continuous character development were decisive for a success of a game.
I know what the red line is, but the recent talks about and graphs I have seen makes me think... Do I have a minor leak in my game, well there are many leaks thats for sure, but specifically related to this, over the long run going lower and lower.
Here is what I think I do ok:
CBET
2nd and maybe 3 barrel... not as often 3rd barrel in 50nl
I dont call 3bets with sooooted cards.
4 bet bluff--rarely only with reads against > 10% 3bet people.
I know I shouldn't be results oriented but I'm not at the point where I can take downswings without questioning whether or not I'm just a bad player. This was me taking my second shot at NL100 followed by a bad session at NL50. Hope tomorrow will be better.
up until recently I've been confident that I can beat 100nl, but it just seems that I'm facing 3bets, 4bets, flop or turn raises, flop or turn check/raises, floats all day long, especially when I have marginal holdings.
I really don't know what's going on it just seems that there's tons of monkeys. People say that there isn't much difference between 50nl and 100nl but it seems to me that the aggression is stepped up tenfold at 100nl.
I've played a ton at 100nl in the past and I used to counter this by being a FPS spew tard myself, which caused me to break even for long periods of time, but am I just running into tons of hands?
Not really sure what to think, when I watch videos and sweat people I don't really see this happening to them but a lot of the time when I play the same games I just get shit on constantly.
That being said I've only returned to 100nl for a few days now, maybe it's just variance and I should grind through it? It's really making me feel my skills are inadequate though, especially post flop.
Some people have suggested coaching and it might be a good idea, idk. Thoughts and suggestions LP?
I’ll tell you a story
About Hesus
There was a broad
She was pretty loose
Her name was Mary
She wasnt married
Once at a party
That’s where things started
Everybody was young ,
And having fun
Joseph drank so much wine
And thought she was fine
Soon she gave in
To the ultimate Sin
First she got pregnant, then she got scared
She needed quickly to get married
Cos people that age
Were filled with rage
Promiscuous Mary thought she'd get stoned
She went to a lawyer and paid him in full
He was a Jew and he was no fool
Go to the church, the Jew has said
Before the priest you gotta kneel
And tell everybody it was God's Will
Tell everybody you're still a virgin
To fix that up ill send you to my surgeon.
Here’s the address,
But before you go put on a nice dress.
So that’s the story how Jesus was born
I got the idea from watching too much porn.
