First 12k hands NL100 by Fayth, February 23

Obviously i couldn't keep the crazy winrate i had when i first started, i'm still doing fine though, being able to keep a 5bb/100 consistant winrate would be just fine to me considering rakeback + redeem pts is an extra 2.5bb/100, would make a total of 7.5bb/100 ! lol
neway here goes

Sheep it by Emi, February 23

New session, 2 / 3 hours

2 tables of NL 10, ended up like +40$ or so

stats so far :

http://img472.imageshack.us/img472/5897/7khandsam3.jpg

I feel like NL 10 is as easy as baby raping right now

I did another short nl 25 shot, and i think one of my problem is that i have a style that ownz newbies but when the players gets a little better i play too many hands, too many bluff, too many continuation bets etc.

But one day i ll reach nl 25$ and fame power and all the girlz will be mine

Feb. poker by luminous, February 23

So getting back into poker this month with a new mindset and ready to do as well as I can. In the past tilt, and going crazy and doing stupid monkey shit throwing shit and shit caused me to go bust and shit so what the shit... anyway I had set up 2 goals for myself for Feb

1. make the final table of an mtt with over 500 people
2. be rolled for nl50 with more then 20BI

I reached both my goals and Im very happy.
For the first goal I played an $11 mtt that had about 900 people in it and I not only FT but I made top 3 and took over $800 for my efforts. big thanks to murray, cosmo, ggplz, bigballs.

My second goal somehow I managed it with the help of the mtt win and a little bit of nl25 and sngs.

There is still 5 days left in the month, but I wont be playing much only a few mtts and stuff so Ill call it a month for now.

Here are my PT stats for Feb.
I had about 20k hands of nl25 and like 100 more $6.50 sngs that did not get recorder because my PT got reinstalled or some thing I dunno w/e..

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/4820/pt2zv7.jpg

For March I hope poker goes well for me I have added new goals poker related and non poker related.

1. Have more then 20BI for NL100
2. FT a mtt with more then 500 field
3. play 25k hands at NL50
4. play 250 $6.50 sngs
5. play 250 $15 sngs
6. get a new fish
7. gain some respect and change my overall lp image
( be myself more I guess )
8. become an lp.net admin
(jk lol)
9. find new RL friends
10. finish the school semester with decent grades

Also every blog will have a youtube or a cool image..

I think vvvq and timdawg will enjoy this one watch the entire video!

$1 dollar if you dont laugh

100k Update: 1st 10k hands w/ Screenshot by sooon2b, February 23

So, I just completed my first 10k hands. I would like to say I ran well, but I have run much better before. I ran into alot of coolers, and people seemed to love calling the flop with the worst hand on the flop/turn and spiking on the river. I feel I played extremely well these 10k hands as I am very motivated to prove everyone wrong. I did not tilt at all these 10k hands, and I used pretty good game selection. Was playing 8 tables most of the time. Might be kind of skewed because sometimes it takes awhile to get 8 good tables going. Anyways, heres the PT screenshot.

sick concert by Stim_Abuser, February 23

was last night i went to the Taste of Chaos concert. featured:

Aiden,SaoSin,Senses Failed, 30 Seconds to Mars, And The Used.

It was held down in longbeach. Im not a Huge fan of 30 Seconds to Mars music, but oh holy shit these guys put on such a great performance. He puts so much into his shows it makes you want to leave everything you got with him too. Needless to say I did just that and went fucking nuts for about an hour.

Brag: they were giving away free rockstars and i had about 7.

Beat: didnt get to get drunk as fuck because my friend brought his little bro. ( what a fagmo!!! )

variance: didnt get laid because homo little brother.
( BLAH!)

just woke up at 3pm holla.

FTP ROll by MezmerizePLZ, February 23

So my FTP BR is really low, like 12k or something maybe, since i put most of it back on stars to be rolled for the 25/50 game there instead of having it split in two, but now im going to do a little challenge thing sorta...

Gonna start w/ playing 5/10 with 12k, move to up 10/20 with 20k, and 25/50 with 50k, and move back down to the previous level when i only have 10 buyins for the previous level, eg, if i make it up to a 22k BR, and am playing 10/20, i'll move back down to 5/10 when i only have 10k remaining in my account.

also, yesterday was a pretty good day, started out playing some 3/6 and won like 2k, then moved to 5/10 and won like 4-5k, then played 25/50, and decided to do some flips with Empire2000 and EmpireMaker, lost both 5k flips with junk but ran well when actually the 25/50 playing so ended up +21k on the day or so.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/149859 <- how to win at poker.. basically my thinking was this :

Fuck him

i have a bunch of other interesting hands but i'd rather not show 5k NL hands, maybe ill look for some 1k NL hands

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/149860 <- pretty sicko flop
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/149861

might be able to find more but im lazy, gl

I dont want to get banned again but this doesnt mean Im going to lower my personality. Im not trying to get people to like me.. just trying not to get them to hate me.

Good Success Live by Benzooor, February 23

So I decided to cash out from bodog and leave only about 50$ to play around with on 10$NL (the lowest stakes there).

I'll open this invitation right now; if anyone can help me put money on stars, i'd paypal you the money + extra.

I've been playing live quite a bit and doing well.

I got into a fight with the girlfriend friday night so I spent most of the weekend playing poker.

I went to the 100$ WSOP satellite on saturday morning but was EXTREMELY tired, as I'd been up with the girlfriend until 5:30am and I had to leave my house at 9am to make the tourney.

So I got by some donk who called my 5x BB raise with 47. I don't wanna talk about it. I was a little mad at that hand, esp. because it was 100$ buyin I expected better play.

After that debacle, I went over to a buddies house and played some .50/1$. I was playing very good poker there, I felt like all of my reads were correct, and I acted on them and came up from 60$ to cash wtih 280$ after only a few hours, putting me up 120$ for the day despite the 100$ spew.

The next day I played a 25$ tournament at noon where I got absolutely cold-decked and just lost.

However, after the tourney I made 80$ playing the .25/.50 until the next tournament at 5pm, which was a 50$ buyin.

I also tanked that one (and I think I'm a tournament player, wtf ).

However, afterwards I played hte .50/1$ for a while, playing fairly solid and trying out some new tweaks to my game. I ended that day about 100$ up as well.

The next night (monday) I played some more .50/1$ (we have many cash games going on all the time over here, real good poker scene). I ended that night up only 50$, making some bad plays towards the night's end.

Last night I had about the luckiest live session of my life. Playing more .50/1$, I was dealt pocket aces FIVE (5) times over a 4 hour session! That's amazing, as I haven't seen aces in about a month!

Unfortunately my hands were extremely dry besides that. I ended the session up to 310$ from 70$ buyin, but it's hard to lsoe money when you're dealt aces 5 times

Overall I've been playing very very well live; I think I've only had 2 losing sessions so far this year, and I'm easily up 2,000$ since the start of the year just from live games.

Tomorrow I'm going to play a tourney during the day, and some .50/1 into the night; however, I've made nice with the girlfriend so we're going to go see 23 later on. I'll end up missing the later tournaments (theres a 50$ and a 40$ that I'm missing! ahh in the naaaame of loveeeeee).

Cheers!!

Teaching friends by kantoiki, February 23

Well at this point in time, poker has been pretty average to me. Not really screwing and not really going on a huge burn so i thought what better to do than to educate two of my friends.

I've previously taught both my dad and pokerdoc, although the credit or discredit that pokerdoc brings should also be shared with karma who was also responsible for this crime upon the poker community. Did the occasional attempt at trying to educate some people who seemed interested in the game/money but generally gave up upon realising,
a) they had down syndrome http://www.dsala.org/graphics/photos/young_lady_suit_blonde.jpg

b) they were impatient or tilt monkeys.
http://italy.indymedia.org/uploads/2006/05/anger.gif

c) they lost their bankrolls at 10nl,
http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/2473/wrongwn4.jpg

Anyway, so these guys i'm teaching have potential and have played poker before, so i won't be needing to waste my time explaining hand rankings and the game of poker.
Instead mostly focusing on teaching them ABC poker, fundamentals which hopefully they will be able to expand from.
Oh and thanks goes to Grot for writing that beginners guide, saved me a lot of effort.

On another note i'll soon be starting up my live bankroll at the casino in Melbourne so that should be interesting. Since uni starts on Monday what i'll probably do is go on Friday nights and Saturday nights depending how much homework i have.
I'll be mainly playing the 0.50/1 NL game buy in 50 dollars with a 1k roll and then moving up to the 1/2 game buyin 100 dollars when i hit 2k-2.5k depending on how i feel.
At the moment i'm estimating an hourly rate of 20 dollars, the game is soft so yeah i'll keep updating on my progress.

OH and yes i just have to say, i got a bigger fish tank
Its a standard 4 foot tank, and looks to be a lot of fun setting up!!! woot!

Long due update by seweri, February 23

Ok I thought it was about time to make another blog post since it's been over a week since my last one. It's not that it has been uneventful or anything, I've just been lazy

First off let's start with a graph of NL100 so far
http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/441/sewerinl100ps6.jpg

As you can see, from my last post where I was at around +$700 I went down to breakeven. I had a lot of top2 vs sets and stuff like that, also I think I tilted some but nothing major. So after I was breaking even for NL100 I took a day off and then came back to find a nice upswing

The really steep up that can be seen at around hand 7720 was actually a session of 240 hands and +4 buy-ins. After that I quit the session cause I figured I'd only end up spewing some of the monies back. I've been really happy with my game in the last sessions, I felt like everytime I decided to do some moves, marginal calls etc I was right and that of course results in a nice confidence boost. I just have to keep myself from making too many plays like that cause even thought it has felt like it, I can't be right everytime and too many bluffs for example can cause a massive spewage.

I hope my sessions will keep going like this as I'm really close to where I started my massive downswing. With 28k hands of NL50 and NL100 altogether after my "comeback" and over $2.3k of profit, I can't be anything but happy.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/149718
Here's a hand with a nice profit. Kind of suicidal of him to push JJ pf when we have effective stacks of 175BB and I've shown a lot of strength. It's fine for me though, ship it!

I think I'll take a break from poker for the weekend, we'll see how it goes after that. Cheers.

Mr. G by CamilaPunt, February 23

So I am trying out blogging. I'll try to post some interesting things that I see and a little comments on my game.

Basically I was a 100nl/200nl mainly player, now I am back to 50nl after a semi heavy withdrawal to pay school and for some reason suck really bad and can't get back up yet. I seem to be getting too angry at some ridiculous suck outs in a row and combining with bad plays always make my real good session become a flat even one.

Anyways, I am reading Greenstein's book and saw this really interesting comment he made on mice.

CONDITIONED GAMBLER:

Mice are put in a cage with a button that they can push with their paws. The button is connected so that the experimenter has the option of allowing the button to give the mouse an electric shock or give the mouse a food pellet from a chute next to the button.

Mouse #1 is given a shock the first time he presses the button. He spends most of his time away from the area where the button is. If the button ever gets pressed again, it will be accidental. Mouse #1 has been conditioned to associating pressing the button with getting an electrical shock.

Mouse #2 gets a good pellet when he presses the button. He presses the button often and seems to enjoy his environment. But after many presses, Mouse #2 is given a shock. He waits a little while and tries again. If given another shock, mouse #2 will stay away from the button. He believes, and rightly so, that something has changed the function of the button. If he gets hungry enough, he may try the button again. Mouse #2 was originally conditioned to associate the button press with receipt of a food pellet but now that conditioning has been extinguished.

Now the most interesting case: occasionally feeding and shocking mouse #3. First we give mouse #3 a food pellet, then a shock, then a couple of food pellets, then a few shocks. Mouse #3 realizes that sometimes he will get food pellets and sometimes shocks, but he cannot predict what is coming. Once we have him conditioned in this fashion, we stop giving him food pellets and only give him shocks. Mouse #3 has learned that eventually he will get a food pellet if he presses enough times. What do you think he will do if we never give him a food pellet? The answer: He will shock himself to death. This experiment shows that intermittent reinforcement is the hardest kind to extinguish.

Now think of a food pellet as a winning session and the shock as a losing session. People who win enough times to keep their hopes up are able to withstand the shock of losing. This intermittent reinforcement may cause people to keep gambling until they have lost everything.

So, I thought that was a pretty interesting analogy. We, here at LP pretty much all fit in as mouse #3 but with different order of shocks and food pellets.

Anyways thats it for my 1st blog.

Good Session by SKoT, February 22

About 1.1k hands and up a couple bi. First serious session I've put in since I started back up mostly because of school and also some pretty sick stuff at 6max.

Also sat down at 25nl for fun with a friend and decided to get stacked. Awesome

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4980/roflimsobaduq8.png

Will probably start to play alot more that im well over 200 so we'll see how it goes getting towards 25nl

Playing low stakes is so weird but its kind of hard to have a losing session at these limits.

DONKEYTEST by nolan, February 22

So I took the www.donkeytest.com poker test.

Some pretty interesting questions. It gives you a general score than breaks it down into 13 different sections.

My general score was 123, which I was pretty happy with.

Also interesting was that I scored 91% on small-mid pair play and like 98% on computational speed? Both of these were in the 99th percentile of like everyone who'd taken it.

In other news I score 38% on the tournament skills part. Weeeeeeee.

Not much poker lately, been incredibly sick .
Anyone in college who lives with 10 or more people, try being sick on the weekend, its a blast.

moving down to 10nl by Xsho123, February 22

After two days of playing in 25nl.... I have lost 1BI which makes my bankroll less than 200. As I promised myself, I will step down once I am lower than that so I started to play 10nl again.
Decided that I won't go for the max BI as I want to multitable and I don't really want to make a mistake and lose it all. I think this is not recommended by the majority of lp.net user that I have seen, but whatever works for me is fine.
Played this hand http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/149515
and the vilian decided to call me a fish/donk and said that I will pay him off if I keep playing on that table. He is just funny, and I regret trying to get him bet on the river, should have taken him down!
Eventually my bankroll gets back to 199.79, not quite 200 and a net lost of something like 40c. I will probably stay and build up a bit more before I give another go at higher limit.

NL400, first try by Joe, February 22

So, today after a successfull session on NL200, I decided to finally make my first try on NL400. Although I wanted to start NL400 with a little bigger BR, I decided that I already have what I consider the required minimum for me.

The session didnt start off very good. I was slightly up in the very begining but then I lost an expensive race (AQ vs 44 allin pf) and kept being colddecked for a while, which resulted in me being about $500 down. But then I started getting some hands and since I had a pretty aggressive image (I was playing little looser than usually, like 22/18 overall, but like 26/22 in the beginning), I got paid off of many of my good hands, often times with pretty crappy hands by my fishy opponents. So I finished more than 2.5 buyins up, which is uber nice for such a short session

Here are the exact results for today:
http://joeik.sc45.info/img/joe/nl400poprve.gif

As for the NL400 competition: I was pleased to see, that there were still quite a lot of fish, basically as many as on NL200 and they were just about as bad too. The regulars though seemed kinda tougher, much less nits, from who u could constantly keep stealing without any resistance. Basically the regulars were significantly more aggressive, were reraising me light pf and overally played better than regs on NL200. But sometimes their aggression was also they weakness, since their play in big pots was quite readeable.

Thats it for now, tommorow I am leaving for a short trip to Copenhagen, Denmark with my friends, so I wont play poker during the weekend. After that, I hope I will be able to stay on NL400 and attain some decent winrate (4ptbb/100 over a bigger sample would be nice).

If I will be able to beat NL400 game, then I intent to stay on NL400 for a little longer (than on NL200), because although I will keep building my BR, I will also make some cashouts, so my progress will be slowed a bit.

Day 50 by The72o, February 22

Stakes: NL100
VPiP: 16.82
PFR: 12.90
Hands: 868

Amount Won: 80.95
PTbb/100: 4.66
Hours: 2.83
MT: 2.98

I was up a lot, but took a break to eat dinner (~600hands). When I backed I was simply fucked up in every pot i played. The only one I won with quads ;/

The good news is I also made some money from other sources: $150 from FTP RB, $50 from referring a friend and $100 sign-up bonus.
But had to pay for my CR membership also $120
