Party poker by AntonChan, April 11

I'm moving to party poker because I just can't take the beats on pokerstars anymore. Sure it's most likely a personal thing (eg. why me, why do I always get these bad beats and such). W/e, I cashed out of pokerstars and am going to play on partypoker... possibly move back if i get disguisted with the layout like I did on fulltilt.

I was down -5 buy ins on Stars today. I think I played pretty shit and I did get some whored out beats/coolers AGAIN (like always). My horrible play/tilt attributed to some major spewage. I have to fix these continuation bets (my poker tracker says that I'm positive $$ wise in every position, but negative BB and SB... so I must be doing something wrong with those two positions... anyone have help here?)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172889
I put this guy on a draw, the thing is, w/ ten is a pretty shit kicker, once he put me all in I kicked myself for accidentally pot committing myself there. ugh...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172897
trash... pure filth...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172917
errr??

so then I moved to fulltilt and I got these on the same table:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172998
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172999

Then I got something like this again:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/173001

... I'm beginning to treat poker as a personal thing because it seems like I keep getting these bad beats... ugh

Hey everyone made a blog. by mrwongie, April 11

So far i am rougher winning 50usd dollar from playing poker. shit that is less. I made 200~ from Absolute but they fucking suck and move to partypoker and lost 200. Pokerstar, the money giver, is giving me 600usd courtesy of their players. Hmmm your math doesnt make sense 200+600-200 = 600. Hmm how come you only winning 50usd. It is because i am a donkament at live games i lost 550 dollars playing 1/2. Never going back to casino again.

Stupid move by Sheitan, April 11

My game has improved a lot the last days and it looks like i don't get any bad beats anymore too. Two excellent news for me and i enjoy playing poker, i decided to play more tourneys from now as it looks like im doing good so far.

Soooo i decided to play that 180 players 4$ tourney on poker stars today and managed to get to the final table, chip leader. Then i did something utterly stupid but i'd like you guys to comment what happened and tell me if i made a mistake (i did make a mistake but any comments would be welcome). Remenber, im just a beginner, any suggestions on that case will be GREATLY appreciated.

Ok, couldn't find the hand, i leaved the table real fast after i lose because i was pretty pissed on my stupidity: im on the SB (50k), everybody falls to me i hold AJo, villain is on BB (40k). Ideal spot, so i 3BB raise, he raises me 3 more. What you have to know is that i spent mucho time with this guy and he took some pots from me and was caught bluffing a lot, playing pretty LAG. I call his re-raise, here comes a low flop, like 4710 rainbow, i push like 4k on a 7k flop and he goes all-in. Normally i would have folded that shit in a heart beat but it was getting personal between him and me (huge mistake here).

I activated the timer, i know he's a big time bluffer and the chances that he's holding a better hand than me are low, and i was 100% sure he didn't hit the flop (wich was true). He forced me to lay down several hands before with air betting agressivly, so i called.

He was holding AKo, no J on turn nor river to suck my way out and i've lost 40k chips in 1 hand. After that i lose to him JJ vs his AKo AI PF, finished 8th.

so my question is, what u guys do in that kind of situation ? is there any guidelines ? did i make the right decision with out being results oriented ? i mean i could have sat on my chips and easily finished top 3 easily and earning more money (216 bucks for the first place). Im trying to think about it and i don't think my decision was bad, am i wrong ?

Anyway during the tourney i hit a Royal flush ! booya !

Fullhouse by anon, April 11

Few days ago i was whining in what a awful spot i was with 8100$ bankroll, after few days of playing putting a lot of effort and playing long hours i managed to lose 2K more, and now my br is 6000$, which means i will have to drop stakes soon.... This is really dissapointing and depressing, it seems the more effort i put the more i lose. Today was awful i lost 1300$, it was some sick day from the beggining of the morrning. I started of my session being down in 10 hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172349
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172350
Then everything got worse, i got few more coolers, after which i started tilting but somehow won some money back, then i went to the university. After university i was calm again and ready to win some money back and then i hit a "FULLHOUSE" of bad beats, cold decks and setups.
Now i am sitting with my 6K left, playing some crappy software, which was suppose to be soft(but which is actually full of regulars that share the fish and fishies are dying fast), feeling very gloomy and confused not knowing what should i do next. Should i move back to UB? Should i search for some other software or should i stick to partypoker or should i cashout what i have left from my 16K. Lossing 10K$ in 3month is really depressing espeacially for Lithuanian.
I really hope i will get back on feet somehow and i will be able not to drop down stakes, but at the moment i really sad and confused, because i put so much effort and time past monthes and all i got was stress.
I probobly should take some time off poker, but i know that tommorow morning my mindset will be possitive again and i will be calm again and ready to play, so i might give a last try before dropping down stakes.
Sometimes it's hard to express yourself, the way you feel when you play 8 hours a day, hoping to win some money back and you end up lossing more.
Besides Poker:
Today i read Cosmo's blog and he mentioned new broodwar ladder, i immediately went there and lost 4 games in a row , but it was fun anyway.
Damn it sucks to be me since i am lossing at everything
Peace,
Arvydas

Grounded by rnbsalsa88, April 11

I'm grounded... had a party at my house and my parents found out. So I'm grounded for a week - no poker, and I lost the trip to Utah I was going to take over vacation. Really bummed. No Action Jeff comments "You're a baller you don't have to be grounded just move out." SO in my poker absence I'll try do get more videos up. Peace

edit: my apologies on posting all 4 entries at the same time. I didn't realize it would spam up the main page!

lol... shitfestaments by rnbsalsa88, April 11

My buddy was like "hey Russ, want to trade action in the wednesday 300?" I look at the clock and see there are nine minutes left to enter. Thoughts go through my head... it's a school night, you have tennis tomorrow. "Sure. Hey enter the 22 rebuy as well... you pussy" (my friend had said no more tourneys, ever...) "Fine... I hate you." "And the 22 heads up tourney... oh and the WSOP 160 DS" "Entered the 22, I'm not 21 remember?" "Yeah... whatever you say."

Long story short, I get fucked in the 300, Bust 22r AK to AQ on an A high flop for a big stack.

I propose a question and I'm pretty sure this is standard. 2nd round of 22 hu, hand 1 I get 26 on the bb sb limps for 20 stacks 1500/1500. I check. Flop 236, against an unknown you go bust here? Well I did... he had 36. Anyways.. I stop sucking it up and win my first round of the double shootout.

My final table is absolutely ridiculous: Sheets, Horry Clutch, Bill Ivey, Rich Fish, and Stackin kids. I do really well early on, go on a nice card rush and pretty much take down pots with little to no play back at me.

I had one hand that still has been bothering me. I have AQ in the sb. Horry opens it to 300 from utg+1 I was planning to muck it since the blinds were 50/100; the stacks were bad for a push/rr but a short-stack all-ins for 5 chips more. I elect to call and Horry has a forced call. The flop is A54 with 2 hearts I check. In retrospect I like a lead-out better because if he calls me we likely check through the hand, and if he shoves I can fold. Horry quickly bets 500 into the 965 pot. Fold, call, all-in all viable options. He's a smart player and he knows better than to bluff into a dry sidepot, I'd imagine he checks behind with a mid-sized hand and bets the turn if I check... if he has a strong hand he probably bets to isolate but I'm not sure. I ended up folding because I thought he was on a range of AJ/AQ/AK or something close to that. He might lead out a set but he probably checks behind to try to get me to play with worse (I would at least). So he shows QJ and I want to cry. I was so totally wrong on his range ah well. The blinds start to get bigger and I go card-dead eventually I make some steals and get back to 2000.

Blinds 100/200 I pick up AT on the sb and we're 4 handed. Stackin kids makes it 600 on the button and I shove he calls A9 sucks out and wins. I get my entry back and he goes on to win $2000 and a wsop seat. OHHH wells.

A funny story: I'm chilling with my friend it's 11 I've gotta be home at 12 so we call up my brothers friend who we like and he tells us he's at Jake's house (aka Sailboat, another of my brother's friends who is gone for the weekend.) This sounds illegal... so we go to the house and there are like 4 drunnnk bitches Joe, and these two other assholes. These kids are all sophmores and younger. So this drunk girl is all over me but Joe comes over and is like we need to get these kids out of here. "I'm going to tell you my life story... so I have no mom, she died a month ago and now I drink my feelings away!" Holy shit... So Joe tells me I can have the rest of the beer probably like 14 left and I'm told its asshole #1's. So I go up to him, "hey man, if you've got to get rid of the beer I'll take it from you" "LOL thanks... but I don't think we need that favor from you." 3 minutes later... the word cops has been mentioned Joe: "take the beer", Asshole #1 "yeah you can have it". So we get the kids out take Joe and drive him home. As we're turning off this kid's street we see a cruiser turn onto it. Scary shit. I figure the call was made when the kids left the house but close call.

I saw Grindhouse yesterday. Sweet fucking movie. Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez so sick. I actually liked the zombie movie better than Deathproof. There was this oldschool intermission where they made fake previews, there was this absolutely hilarious one about Nazi werewolf chicks...

I've been recording and will get that WSOP final table video out, and some HU nl and 6 max vids coming soon.

WEEE by rnbsalsa88, April 11

I had my worst out of the money streak in mtts last night. I ran 30 of em and missed the money in 29. I cashed in a $20 180 man for like a $20 profit and lost 300 in hu cash... pretty ugly night, -2800. Today went okay... played some hu cash and recorded. I was up about 800 and then I got coolered in two hands to end down -100

QJ I open to 12 it's 2/4 opponent makes it 36 I call flop Q55 two spades he bets 3/4ths pot I call, turn is a T he bets about 2/3rds I call, river is a brick, he shoves I call he has 35. I don't think I played this hand very well. It would have been better to raise his flop bet and get it all in there if he wanted. I probably should have folded to his turn bet as I read it for strength. It's really important to follow your gut and not just play your hand strength. Tough to do 100% of the time though. Also if you play a wierd line and your opponent starts betting big, it can be a bluff sometimes but don't convince yourself that your gut says he is bluffing. You are hoping he is bluffing.

Had a nice Passover tonight. I'm not religious... at all but I got to eat good food and drink on a school night. Not too bad.

first blog by rnbsalsa88, April 11

damnit... I wrote an entire page and then clicked create entry but that makes a new page. aggravation. I'm not going to re-write the entire thing. Basically my name is Russell I'm a senior in highschool. 10 more days of school and then I go on senior project. I'm going to Bentley next year in Waltham, MA so if you go there/ know anyone that goes there lemme know. Recently I've been playing at stakes much lower than my "normal game". Been tough to move money around since the U.S. Gov has been fiddling with the gambling laws, WTO for the win baby! I think there's much more money to be made in cash/ mtts than sngs. I'm up cash and multis but not as much as I "should" be for how much time I've invested/ dropping down in stakes. Gone deep in a lot of tourneys lately without that big payoff. Running bad sucks. Anyways... bed time. I'm going to not be sober tomorrow and then snowboarding saturday.

Peace guys,

Russell.

Another Up and down session by acdawg712, April 11

Ended with 120 last night. My piece of shit computer was working so I went up to my dorm's computer lab and somehow found a way to install stars.

I started my 40BB buyin at the most profitable tables and was up to 6. The start was not good.

I grinded at the beginning with my stacks relatively even.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=172703 Played poorly

My stacks gradually fell.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172705 The guy had been a donk, oops

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172707 lol donk

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172708 ouch

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172710 1st hand present

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172711 Same table 3 minutes later, ship ship

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172712 Final big hand

I ended up even for the session. I feel my breakthrough slowly creeping towards me, mainly by reading these forums I feel I am learning a lot.

Heater over? by DustySwedeDude, April 11

I’m down like 4 buy ins or something the last days and it’s a combination of me playing kinda bad and not hitting any cards. I’m amazed that I’m not down more since I can’t hit a hand for my life, but that kinda highlights how nice it is to be aggressive since FE probably makes up for a lot of my winnings. Anyway, I’ve looked thorugh most of my hands and I think that I’m paying off a bit too much sometimes and I get to bluffcatcher happy when someone has reraised me a fair amount. Also, I get to trigger happy with big hands and might overbet river and such even if I’ve been somewhat tight at a table, which doesn’t work really well. I gotta consider table conditions better.

Anyway, a good friend of mine told me that I should never worry untill I’ve sleept on it, mastrubated and tried to think about the situation for a while and even if he’s crazy as fuck he has got a point. Normally I’d freak out when I lose a few buy ins when I’ve just moved up but after my super heater and the fact that I’m still at over 7bb/100 hands this month I’m really not that worried. I just gotta play good and I’ll make some serious monies again.

On another note: This semi-mini-downswing-thingy (I know, it’s nothing and I’m not complaining, but whatever) might be really good for my long time ev because it actually makes me do some school work which is really good since I was a bit behind on that part of my life. I expect to play a decent amount this weekend but untill then it’ll probably just be sporadic sessions if I feel good. I might even take a break for a few days and catch up with my normal life.

April 11th, 2007 (21.15) by KingKory, April 11

Today's summary:

Commentary:

Today I tried opening my game up a little bit.

Examples:

I started 3-betting a bit light against active players; raising UTG/EP with ATo, 78o, K9s; et cetera. I also started opening my pre-flop raises from LP with limpers. E.g. 9Ts with 1 limper; AJo with 2 limpers; et cetera. I believe most of my increased stats came from this. I really didn't change my blind game at all, I think I need to get more accustomed before I open that can of worms.

I'm not putting too much into the results yet, but I do know that this adjustment put my head in a tailspin at times while 9-tabling, and it's going to take me a while to get used to it.

I suffered some spew trying to bluff-catch a couple-3 hands. This has little to do with opening my pre-flop game, and more to do with me being a fucking idiot.

Oh, and the TANKMAN went in this morning to get his nuts chopped off. I'm so nervous for him

Here are some pre-op pictures:

The fuck you lookin' at nigga?

Yeah, he has some lopsided ball goin' on? Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

I'm wondering if I could be arrested for some of these

Top 3 winners:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172572 Tough spot with the in position caller. Who 3-bets pre-flop here? Calling the worst possible option?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172573 lol
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172574

Top 3 losers:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172575 I actually think my newfound image may have hurt me this hand. Anyone know this guy? He has a picture of Al Bundy as his avatar which made the beat a bit easier to take.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172576 NICE HAND FUCKWAD
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172577 ?? re-raise/fold PF? Find a fold here anywhere? Nice vaue by him though.

Hands of Note:

1st 50nl session by Chase, April 11

After kinda taking yesterday off, I popped my 50nl cherry this morning

Three tabling, heres how it went:

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7376/50nlbd7.jpg

Fairly standard session. Its pretty much like 25nl, except theres not so much crazy irrational play, which is good i guess. I ran into a few regs from 25nl too, it was nice to start with notes right off the bat.

Anyways, here are my two big winners:

KK vs 99
Flopped set, ship ship

and my biggest loser:

99 OESFD

this hand just looked too pretty to check/call. I thought about just front betting this pot instead... i still dunno what the best line might be. The villain seemed to be an ABC TAG. Thoughts?

fkin sick! by SneakrFreakr, April 11

Ugh I can't remember when was the last time I was steaming because of poker but I am now. I had played decently all the time, was completely card dead, made some good reads and after 1k hands I was getting out of the red and was down only $17 and wanted to finish my session after an orbit or two and then bam! KK vs AA twice and flopped top set to flopped flush, ugh. And one of KK vs AA was against the same guy that I lost top set vs flush. Just sick. And everything happened in 5 mins. So I spewed all the profit that I earned playing some good poker yesterday in 20 hands or so. Well done. I know it's just tough luck but the most annoying thing is that I was about to finish my session. Here are these hands:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172547
In this one I actually think I could've folded - villain was like 17/13/1.4 after 100 hands and he wasn't getting out of line except for the hand where he 3bet me out of the blinds, I called w/ QQ on the button and pushed to his cbet on Q high flop and he folded. What you think guys?

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172557

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/172549

Now I should start learning a bit but I'm quite pissed off so I'm not sure if I'll do so. I know I shouldn't be result oriented and it's just a bunch of coolers but I was starting to play better, running a bit better and thought I'll get back on track but not - party had to slap me right in the face. Ok enough of whining. It's not the first and not the last time it's happening (just the timing is terrible). Later on I'm going to have this private lesson thing with Andrew from CR - hopefully I'll be able to hear his voice today. Not sure if I'm gonna play anymore today cause I think my game might be affected by today session.

Oh and a sweet graph from today:
