| | Good 2nd day by acdawg712, April 18
I couldn't fall asleep at 5:00 AM so i played a little. Won a 6.50 1 table turbo for $26. Played 3 NL25 full ring and 1 6-max on the side. Up about $5. Lost more small pots than won.
Major hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/176565 Had close enough odds and his hand was pretty obvious.
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/176566 guy bet way to scared, good thing ace landed on turn to slow him down and gave me another draw.
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/176569 Basically last hand of session, I even put him on AK or better, just wanted a semi-big last hand. stupid spew.
Overall: +25

| | sick day by rnbsalsa88, April 18
I qualified for the Full Tilt 750K guaranteed on Saturday night. I hadn’t planned on committing my day to poker but I woke up and lo and behold I wake up and we’re in the middle of a Noreaster. Oh well I guess I have to play poker all day. In the morning I had a few goals, load up a decent number of tables and qualify for the $650 WSOP qualifier. I entered tons of satellites for it and every $20+ mtt that looked good. Pretty soon I had up about 18 tables, a bit more than I had bargained for. I went deep in a bunch of the qualifiers without a score losing $80 sngs over and over again can get expensive. The $24 6 max double shootouts offer great value- and I eventually luck it up and win one.
I had a weird hand in the Sunday warm-up that I’m really not sure about. Probably bad.... you decide. I have 9600 (10K starting stacks) we’re relatively early in the tournament. Blinds 75/150 there are 3 limpers including the sb, I check. Pot 600. Flop is 256 off suit, it checks around. Turn is a 3 giving me the straight putting a spade draw on the board. I lead out for the pot and get min-raised. OK, first hard decision... The stacks are such that a push is a pretty big overbet- I’m not getting a 4 to fold... ever, and I get all worse hands to fold. But... it protects my hand and likely takes down the pot/ chops against the straight. A problem with this though is that the straight could also be drawing to a flush draw as well or have outs to a larger straight. If I reraise I have to call if he gets it in against me but it gives me value against a set/flush draw. Decisions, decisions. I decide to flat call and evaluate on the river. Ok, here comes the fun part. River is a 2. I check, and he bets 3100 into the 3000 pot. My thoughts- he probably would not bet a 4 like this. I think he likely has 74/ missed draw/ or a boat. If I shove he should be folding 74, like he has to... Opponent is an unknown so I think here is where the logic goes wrong, but in a $200 tourney most players are capable of making this fold. Also if he was betting the 4 he has to fold. I think raising all in/ folding here are both preferable to calling. I shoved, he calls 55... Doh
No big deal... I end up getting 2nd in a $24 tournament on Full Tilt for $1900. I was heads up against this absolute donkey. He asked for a deal at the start and I laughed. I came in with like 450,000 chips versus his 300,000. He was a passi-fish. I’m whittling him away and after like 6 minutes of play he shoves for 270K into my big blind I insta-call AJ, his K7 hits 2 pair. I battle back for a long time, I get chiplead again. He shoves into my big blind which 30,000 I call AK he shows A8, spikes the 8 obviously. Battle back eventually I shove over a limp of his where he had QQ I don’t suckout. Oh well.
Now its time for the majors. I enter the Sunday Million, Sunday Second Chance, Sunday Mulligan (all $200+15's), the $500+35 750K Guaranteed, and the $615+35 WSOP qualifier. I Bust out of the Sunday Million pretty early, bust in the 750K, cash in the Second chance but not for much... And I end up very deep in the WSOP qualifier and the Sunday Mulligan. I made some huge comebacks. In the mulligan I had a really nice stack of around 15K, lost an all in and was down to like 2500 I get back up to like 12K, lose an all in again, down to 1500. I again comeback and catapult my stack up. In the WSOP tourney I got very few cards the whole tourney but the structure is amazing, blinds change every 30 minutes. I was short the whole time. From 36-47 got their entry back, and top 35 got 12K packages. So I’m in 2nd place out of 16 in the Sunday mulligan (30K for first) and like 43/44 in the WSOP tourney, and there is blackness all around me. Fucking power.... The storm knocked it out. I call up Andrew who was very deep in the 750K guaranteed and explain the situation to him. He takes over the $650, and gets a buddy to hop in the mulligan. I get power back an hour and 15 minutes later. I run downstairs, turn on my computer and call Andrew. The bad news... Andrew busted 37th in the WSOP satellite. Fuck... But, Paul - Andrew’s buddy got 4th in the Mulligan for $10,500.
Andrew ended up busting 23rd in the 750K guaranteed for 3500. I paid Paul a tip for coming through in the clutch, and played some heads up cash before going to bed. All in all, ended up 14K on the night. Holla

| | Poor first sessoin/Self-exclusion by acdawg712, April 18
The first day after my win, things did not go great.
My first hour session went ok, until this happened.
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/175708 In my topic, it appears 75/25 in favor of my play, more thought are welcome.
1st Session:-$13
My second 3 hour session was kinda spewy. It started poorly until these hands against a player on tilt(which I had told to not play so he could cool off).
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/175776 Nice
http://www.liquidpoker.info/h/175778 I like my turn bet, I think I played it well. As played, the river push seemed like some bluff and it worked out.
After some spew/respew at sngs I ended up even.
2nd session: ~0
Last night 3 hour session, was not good. It started with me down 18 and my friend who plays NL200 helped out. We played well but there were some suckouts and some idiotic hero calls at NL10. I was down another 15. I then played some NL 25 and went up about 25. After more terrible luck at some $6 SNGS(33>QQ with 3 on river and A7>99 with 7 on river(flop was 754) i ended up with the same amount as before NL25 started.
3rd session: -$33.
I then self-excluded myself for 24 hours at about 4:49ET, 10% to prevent tilt and 90% so I could study for my 3 exams on thursday and friday. Didn't really study and ended up thinking about poker haha.
We have no class on Wednesday so I plan to get up and play a little, prolly the $5.50 turbo MTT. Maybe some NL10 and NL25 with some $5-6SNGS.

| | NL50 now =) by Oddeye, April 17
I still can't get pokertracker to work and I expected it to be working when I switched to NL50. However I still get an error in the chip count which prevent me from important hand history from the folder. Sucks cause I could be posting graphs and shit. Oh and apparently FTP isn't cool because it's hard(fayth sayings) so I might stick around UB for a shortwhile, even tho I wanted to do the bonus.
Took me quite a while but at least I learned quite a few valuable lessons, also I'm starting to learn the math and try to stick with it. Hope my 1k last forever.

| | Good evening by Emi, April 17
Stopped the multi tabling 5 tables shit where i play in 1 ms and dont have any read
Now i try to 2 tables and focus, and feels soooooooooooo much more profitable
This evening was my best so far, 100 ptbb / 100 hand at NL 25
weak tigh players, min bet players, and too many callers when i raise (and of course i had lady LUCK)
short stack that are ultra loose (i think that is the funniest thing seing a short stack limp in every pot)
my new read is : insta check on flop = (sometimes) check raise
Players always try to somehow make like they got a hand when it is a real check and so thinks for some secs
see the SS :

Lately I've been running bad and havent felt like posting. I've been playing pretty bad and doing monster moves to win some $$ but I think abc poker woulda spared me ~7-10k. Anyway I hope it was a good lesson and I'll solve my downswings in a better way. So today was a turnpoint for my badstreak, awesome. After ~150 hands I were up 2,2k and had a bb/100 at 270. Sustainable? Oh yes.
So my friend came over to rail my session and give some donk tips, really worked. After he came I rushed even more. I ended up about 16 buyins wich is a new record, woho!!! Last one was of 13buyins at nl200 last summer. Anyway my irl badbeats wont stop since my virus infection wont leave me alone, it's harassing me day as night.

And some hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176232 OMG QUADS vs my most loved spewer. A pokerhand can't get better.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176225 this guy spewed like 3-4 buyins at me. I shaked his hand, took his money and said "ty!" in the poker chat.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176100 this guy spewed pretty good as well

| | PAHUD and stuff by DustySwedeDude, April 17
Ok, I've had a bad day. Lost like a buyin or so but I was up like 2.5 so it's not that fun. I've had a big amount of set ups (flush over flush, set over set in a reraised pot) and all kinds of stuff. Really annoying but since I'm not down more I guess I should be greatfull.
Anyway, I got PA HUD but I can't get it to work. Do I have to configure poker tracker in some way so that it imports the hands while I play or something?

I made some stupid calls(i think), which cost me at least 2 buy-ins.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176212
I made my hand pretty transparent(kk,AA) yet he raise over the top, which can only be AhKh orAhjh(but i highly doubt flush draws since he only calls and never raise with them) or QQ, kk. any chance i could have folded??

| | First UB session by TianYuan, April 17
Finally got my money back yesterday night, at like 5am, after talking to some guy who reminded me of the creator of http://www.endofworld.net
Wee.
I then tried to deposit into UB but UB says I don't have that much money! So I look at my account and see that it's in EURO.
Google gogo, and I found a post indicating that you need to change to base currency dollar.. Fortunately it turns out I miss-read that post and that in my own stupidity I had failed to take into account the transaction fees.
Oops.
This led to me screwing myself out of like 50 deposit bonus dollars (maybe more, dunno) cause I deposited a smaller than maximum amount at first ;D
Anway, I decided I'd 1 table for a little bit, until I got used to the software.. I ran disgustingly well, so good in fact that I felt guilty and had to stop.
Started the session off with this (ok, so it's a dozen hands in or something)

I actually thought he had a set and was considering folding right there after his first reraise but then I realized that this is NL25, vs a complete unknown whom I've only seen play for like 12-20 hands..
Meh.
I can't figure out if this was retarded on my part, or just standard.
I definitely wasn't paying enough attention tho, as at first I thought this was an unraised pot, and I didn't see why anyone would check raise a set in an unraised pot.
Anyway, I got 777 vs AQ top pair and he couldn't fold apparently, so that's another buyin, then I get 87 two pair vs the guy I sucked out on, who has KK and get all his chips.
He asked me 'did you get lucky again' when I check raise him, I say yes and he still pushes.
Oh well.
Any input on the hand I posted would be much appreciated, I felt kinda donkish after that hand (maybe I've played too much NL2/HU/very shorthanded, while waiting for my money to come back from neteller).
One argument for folding I guess could be that my first impression of the table was that it's pretty tight..
But then again, seeing how the guy in my 777 vs AQ hand played his AQ top pair for a full buyin.. I'm leaning towards this hand being pretty standard, even though I have trouble seeing what he could have except a set (I guess slowplayed KK, AA)
Also, if anyone plays NL25 on UB and feels like sharing the screen names of some ATMs (donkeys) or regulars feel free.
Opinions on the bet pot button would be appreciated as well, I've seen a few cardrunners videos and muddywater seems to use it religiously whereas green plastic stays away from it, but they play at such a completely different level that I'm not sure their reasons are applicable to me.
GPs reasoning was that if he uses the bet pot button for value he has to use it for bluffs, and then he'll be building big pots with nothing (or something like that).
Which I guess makes sense if you play pretty LAG like him (and like ever so many low stake fishes, I aspire to play that way eventually), whereas muddywater seems much more straight forward.

Today's summary:

Commentary:
BOO! Made a pretty bold bluff at a double-paired board. Got majorly sucked out on with JTcc, and spewed a few chips off with AKo/33. Standard for me after a winning session.
It seems I have a case of Dr. Jekyl/Mr. Hide where at times I'm very solid, and at other times I'm very suspicious/spewy.
Dear Cory: People aren't trying to fuck with you 100% of the time!
Anyhow, onto the hands-
Top 3 winners:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176121

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176124
Top 3 losers:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176055 Le sigh.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176120 Short-stack guy, I think I'm good here a lot of the time. Dunno why I raised 5bb's pf.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176129 Just another case of me not being able to throw away AKo.
Hands of Note:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176128 What do you think? Hate/Love/REALLY HATE? If you're villain, what's your calling range against me here? (villain is 15/10/3 over 400 hands; I'd call her/him a reg)

Okay, i made a nice session today, played real good and managed to make +3BI , lost all the profit on 3 major hands: 2xKK and AA. Is it ok to go broke here ? i would like some advices from you guys.
First hand:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176095
Scary board, i played this one pretty bad and pot-committed myself like an idiot, river was an ez fold. Could have saved sum cash here.
Second hand:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176090
Villain is a donk, making bad calls and being too agressive. I put him on AQ or AJ. Is it ok to go broke here ?
Third hand:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/176102
He played pretty solid so far, very tight so i guess i should have c/f on river, especially with that Ace on the board.

| | up day monday by curtinsea, April 17
Monday was an up day for me. Got up at 5 am and got in a two-table sng with a $6 buy in and quickly donked out. But I had time before work to try again, so I got in another. I played well, got good cards, and sucked out when I needed to enough to build a nice chip lead. But it was getting near time to go to work and I hadn't even gotten dressed yet. So I sat out with five of us remaining and a huge chip lead and got ready for work. Before long I hear the sound of me being blinded off in heads up play, so I came running back to the table to find my opponent with a 3/1 chip lead. It takes just six hands to come back and win. Not a big win, but it still feels good. After work, I finished 3rd in another, and managed to come away a little ahead.
It's 5:20 am right now and I'm in another sng, so I better get back to it. Wish me luck lol

First I'd like to post my graph from April so far (includes only nl100 6max on Party):
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/5356/aprkx7.jpg
Anyone out there on nl100 having swings like mine? Oh and just on a side note - there's no tilting involved in these 17k hands.
So two days ago I played a session on Party where I decided to loosen up a bit. I was running almost 22/18 but in the last 400 hands of the session I was completely cold decked so my stats dropped down to 20.5/17. But I'm still happy with it. Also I managed to get my flop AF below 4 which is quite optimal I think. My Att. To Steal Blinds also went up which is good. I'm also defending especially in BB a bit more but I still feel quite uncomfortable playing more hands from this position.
http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3633/17489415xq8.jpg
Yesterday, right after I received my full withdrawal from FTP, they sent me an email saying that as their dear customer I am eligible for a $300 bonus and I've got 14 days to clear it. So I decided to deposit 1k there and clear my bonus and leave. So far I've played about 1,8k hands and got $60 from the bonus. I'm getting rakeback at the same time so it's good monies. I was playing pretty loose during the session and my stats were as high as 24/21 but later on I wasn't getting any hands and people were limping and raising all the time so I was just giving up. But I'm still happy with my game as I'm opening up a bit and this combined with controlled agression makes it much more comfortable way to play for me.
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7164/12902575va8.jpg
I also noticed one thing. FTP is soooo passive comparing to Party nowadays. The level of agression is much higher on Party and so are the swings. But FTP software and players out there are sooooo slow that it's just painful to watch.
Yesterday was quite busy for me as I had a few things to sort out in the city centre and I also had to do the shopping. Now I've got to go the uni to put forward my application for the accomodation for next year and I should probably shave my beard and go to the hairdresser cause I look pretty similar to this guy:
http://www.greatwigs.co.uk/shop/media/wigs/14331_Caveman_Wig_Beard.jpg
Playing poker ain't healthy.
I don't have time to post my hand histories now but I'll spend some time analyzing my game later on. I should probably study for like 2 hours today but as usually I'll end up playing poker instead. Or maybe not? We'll see.

I dont know how or why I did it but I played 8k hands in 10hours in 2 sessions seperated by an hour...

how the hell did you play 19K in a day? you are a sick man, man.
took a break after that shitty downfall. I had some bad beats, but never got tilty... i did get tired tho and lost of my patience a bit, but I stopped mainly because I was getting sick... it was like 7 hours infront of computer...not use to that.
so 100nl so far:

on another note, I got my grades and my GPA is 3.00 for the first time in 5 years... thats right 5 years of university, but obviously im getting better.

| | Special entry: Coaching by locoo, April 17
I would like to talk about two things at this point.
Mainly it was just one thing: really great people.
Yugless
He (or she... capaneo told me Yugless is female sorry if it's not true , but you never told me anything about it Yug ) PM'ed me couple days ago and told me that we could practice some to be able to beat NL25$, can you imagine my thrill?
I basically let my girlfriend wait for 1~2 hours of our date and got set into a couple tables commanded by Yugless advice. I made 50$ in a matter of minutes , thank you very much Yug, you were very helpful and I understood the basics very well, and you even made me some money .
Hope to talk to you soon on msn
Capaneo
Aha now onto this other great fella. I PM'ed him asking about freecoaching, ready to get myself non-replied, told-to-fuck-offed. Nevertheless he just asked for my MSN and was just ready to get on with the class, even though I told him I didn't even got money yet to NL25$.
We shared ventrilo and some program I think it's called CrossLoop to share our screens, and he was there beating the crap out of NL25$ while commenting to me about his hands and decision. Great session but too short, so he even told me about some other classes on another time!. Talk about generosity
Really I wanna thank you both very much guys, made me the much more vitalized to try harder at poker even though my family is very much against it 100%. But I will prove them wrong
Secondary thing I wanted to share
Lastly on another note, I wanna talk about how fucking great is PokerStars. Been on NL10$ today with just 70$ and after couple hours I was sitting in 4 tables: 1 with 18$, another with 20$ and the last two with 40$ each. I wasn't even running that good (seriously) getting bad beat all in a couple of times, but still a nice session for being my real first one.
So I hope things go like this everytime on PS (I know it can't never be this good, but it's good to hope for it).
C ya at the tables and good luck to all
