| | april.. so far by rockman255, April 08
so, i did really good in nl5 last week, and started this monday with about 420 total and decided to move up to nl10. yesterday went fine, today was going fine, and then i started acting like a complete random douchbag. i guess thats going on tilt. so im just going to relax and play ps2 for the rest of the day and get back on track maybe really late today or just wait until tomorrow.
i don't know what came over me but i started making horrible horrible bluffs and calls and i know i wasn't in my right mind in doing so. luckily i didn't lose a whole lot, im around $440 now and was around $500 at my peak last night.
this is how april looks so far : i played nl5 fo the first 40,000 hands and nl10 for the last 5000 or so. i think i really ran cold in the beginning, and i started picking up cards and playing better in the latter half of my nl5 run.
in nl10 i have a much higher percentage of hands won overall, hands won in good position, and stuff like that. so i think it hopefully means im at least trying to play a better game, if anything.

| | God loves laundry by SakiSaki, April 08
OMFG LOL. While waiting for my laundry to get done I decided to play some HU. I quickly found a huuge fish buying in for full and rebuying when losing. Jackpot right? I just completely stomped him and was up like 2k after about 20 min.
Just to give you guys an idea, he was playing 80/60/1,7. He basicly played almost every hand, always minraised preflop and his standard postflop bet was like 1/5 pot. He called down with anything, like 3rd pair for 3 streets in a reraised pot etc. He was also talking to me in french like a madman which was quite enjoyable.
As I was up 2k and he was still rebuying I was running out of time. The laundry rooms in my appartment complex have like an electronic lock so I have to get in there to get my laundry while I still have it booked. This was until 21:00 and it was like 20:40 right now. If I dont get the laundry in time I will have to book the next time witch is 7 in the morning tomorrow(BAH) and get it then.
I made a couple of quick ev calculations considering the downside of having all my clothes stuck and going to school tomorrow in wet or dirty clothes and the upside of making a ton of money from this frogeater. I eventually decided to take the path usually taken, the greedy one.
All of a sudden, the fish made some hands and managed to slowly chip up. I ran a couple of big bluffs when deep and he snapcalled then with like second pair both times and I was a saaad panda. I realized bluffing this idiot deep was a bad idea so I tightened up and started beating down on him again but he still managed to make some hands and I was getting frustrated.
Eventually a very beautiful beautiful thing happened, I flop a set in a reraised pot! This is such a dream sitation since he will call down all streets with any piece OMG lets ship the money!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/420897
After this one he instaleaves! Im sitting there, not really knowing what just happened going from being up 2k to down 1k to this retard. Seeking comfort in the fact that atleast I will have time to get my laundry I look at the time and its 21:01 FUCK MY LIFE
Apparently God loves laundry above anything and will punish anyone prioritizing diffrently with great force. Keep that in mind kids.

| | Getting in Shape by Benzooor, April 08
So this weekend I was hanging out with a bunch of buddies from high school and they are all in shape and while I'm not that out of shape, I haven't exercised regularly in over a year.
So yesterday I started by doing a 30 min walk with my GF and that is nothing special at all, but it's better than sitting on the couch.
I've given myself rules, hopefully to get myself in shape both physically and pokerly -- on my days off, before I start playing, I am going to make myself do two things:
a) eat
b) run
Today I ran for ~25-30 minutes, ended up running about 3 miles and it fucked me up so bad. I was really disgusted. When I was just out of high school and working at the airport I was able to run 10 miles and be tired but not like wheezing-going-to-puke tired like I was today. It was pretty inspiring though, esp cuz I went out and bought 75$ worth of under-armor running clothes which are so baller.
Poker is going fairly well, I am going to have to cash out some money before rent this month because I'm paying back all of my debt. Basically I am going to leave myself a nice 25bi roll and cash out profits until I have my credit card / debt to my parents paid off. Depending on how I run // how many hands I can put in, this should only take a month or two (I have around ~4k$ in debt that I want to pay off).
Most important news here is that I think I would like to get a couple of hours of coaching for 200NL. I am beating the limit but not like I want to, and I feel there must be some leaks in my game that I am not noticing. I don't want to pay that much, but if maybe a 200NL or 400NL winning reg would do like an hour or two of coaching with like 50% profit, or maybe just 100$/hr would be good? PM me if you are interested!

| | 1st day of April by PplusAD, April 08
After i played bad at the end of march i decided to take a 1 week break and rethink about my game.
Today was my first session since the break.
- 5 1/2 buy ins. on Nl50 .... in 900 Hands.
So to resume my session :
I lost like 1 1/2 buys in due to bad play and 4 buy ins to standart setups.
Loser of the day = 7x KK with which i lost 3 buy ins alone W@SD = 0 % -_-
Overall i feel semi satisfied since there was just not too much i could do in this session and i played concentrated and calm for the most part.
I played 3 hands kinda bad which cost me 1 1/2 buy ins and i will analyze them and try to improve
WInner of the day ?
Didnt win one single big pot in 900 hands >_<
Biggest pot i won was 99 flopped set for half a stack vs someone who bluffed 3 streets with A high on dangerous board.
2nd biggest pot AQs PF all-in vs shorstack who had 22 for a 45 $ pot ...
thats basically all i won today ...
There just didnt occur situations where i hit the board hard and had the best hand.
I lost 1 FH vs higher FH
1 Flush vs FH
1 Nutsraight vs FH
5 sets = lost 3 and with 2 i won the small flop pot ...
and countless KK , AK vs AA
Okay i will analyze the missplayed hands now and then hope for a better session tomorrow

| | Taking a break... by Ftrunkz, April 08
well, i still wasn't beating NL10 by last Sunday, so Sunday night i banned myself from stars for a week as i felt my play was starting to go from losing from beats to losing from tilt and other things. It's less then half way through and I'm already feeling the urge to come back and become a winning player just from reading thru LP and watching vids etc. Hopefully I'll come back nice, motivated and running sick :D.

| | Bellagio: Event #2 ... Wat? by JonnyCosMo, April 08
Today was the $2500+120 event, and once again I got a pretty sweet starting table with no one I really recognized. Unfortunate for the first hour I picked up no hands and my table seemed to be playing fairly loose both preflop and post flop. Some guy punted his entire stack 5 minutes into the tournament with 2nd pair + gut shot. Another guy re-re-re-raised the turn on a 8-8-3-5 board and insta-folded when he got shoved on. Yikes. An hour into the tournament I got moved over to RaiNKhaN's table and got the seat directly to his left. Ship the position! Mr.Smokey01 was also seated at the table. I got to the first break with 3300 in chips, mostly from folding and one bad bluff into a small pot.
Came back from the break and grabbed a few chips by knocking out RaiNKhaN (he played a big pot earlier and got crippled to 500 in chips), then proceeded to pick up a few more pots. Mr.Smokey01 busted out about 15 minutes later and was replaced by Bushman. Another kid who made the final table from the event I won at the Wynn was also moved to my table. For most of the 100/200 level I continued to struggled to pick up chips and finally got stuck at 2400 in chips and raised a cut-off limp to 800 with ATo only to get limp-shoved on. I called off my last 1600 and he had KK... sick life. But I warned him I run infinitly good in these spots and sure enough the flop came A-T-4. Ship it. Turn and river bricked out and I doubled to about 5,000. Did a few ninja-like rejams and chipped up to 8,000 before my final hand: Blinds were at 100/200 w 25 ante and it gets folded to the table chip leader who had well over 25,000+ in chips. He had been playing pretty loose, and he popped it up to 600. I flat called on the button with KQo, and everyone else folded. Flop came: Kc-8h-3h, and he c-bet 1,000. I made a very fast call trying to give off some weakness (now I sound like Phil Hellmuth and his bs about false-tells blah blah blah but whatever). Turn came Qh, he fired 2600 and I shoved all-in. He snap called and showed K5hh. River bricked and I went out in 75th or something around 4:00pm. Hmmm... odd? I tend to last forever in these tournaments. 4 hours was the fastest I've busted so far lol... I'm cursed
So I went back up to my room and found Rekrul playing 5/10 heads-up on 4 tables, so I watched him for a bit. He's pretty fucking amazing. Total relentless aggression, with some sick telepathic reads. At the end of his first session he was up $22,000 after 3 hours. Wat? I took a nap for a couple hours then woke up and watched him play a little 6-max before heading down to the poker room to grind myself.
I played a 6 hour 5/10 session tonight from 8:30pm to 2:30am, and for the most part I thought I played my A game. Got a little sloppy towards the end of my session, but ended +$2200. The only hand worth mentioning was my double-up vs some super fish 10 minutes after sitting down. The hand goes down like this: I'm on the button with 54o, there are 6 limpers infront of me so I limp, and both the blinds come in as well. Flop comes A-2-3 rainbow. DING! It gets checked around to the guy to my right and he bets $70 into a $90 pot. I raise to $180, everyone folds, the guy makes the call. Turn comes 8, he checks. I bet $400. He shoves for my last $550 so obv I snap call and tell the dealer "Dont pair the board". River comes an Ace and I puke a little inside and am ready to muck my cards... but the guy tables AT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WAT? AT no good sir. Nothing else really happened, just chipped up in a bunch of small pots, lost a few 60/40's and a got a set cracked by a flush draw. The table was fairly soft, (not as soft as the tournament tables obv) and there were a lot of really nice people sitting.
Tomorrow is the $3000 event, so I need to get my rest. Wish me luck!

| | EV Equity Practice by rnbsalsa88, April 07
This is from an actual hand played while coaching a student (not going to mention names) last night. So for practice, create a range of hands for our opponent on the turn, and then come up with the best lines you believe that should be played on the turn, and a river, if there is one.
About our opponent: Opponent is a bit on the loose side. Capable of making moves, but fairly reasonable post flop. Not overly aggressive, or passive. That's all we have for a read at this point.
I can't convert the hand because I was only observing unfortunately.

i'm gonna move down to nl2 for a couple days and if i get under $100 i'm just going to cash it out becuase now i'm just really unmotivated because i can't win a goddamned hand. i have $127 and i started the month with about $230...so fucking gay
and if it matters...my nl5 fullring stats are 13/6/2.... -2BB/100 over 14.6k hands. any help? any tips? how do i win because i figure i'm doing everything right - playing only premiums, betting strong when i have top pair/sets, yadda yadda. folding anything below AJo OOP but i'm limp SCs in late position if theres a lot of callers. always raise 99+ from middle position. only 3 bet with QQ+, try to get it in with KK+ and maybe QQ depending on the player. that's more or less how i'm playing right now.

You ever have those days where you win 2.5 buyins in 65 hands? Makes me just wanna put my feet up and smoke some cubans. But there is no rest for the ambitious grinder...so I'll have to continue.
