just kidding. almost.

lee jones hates me. all my loses are from coolers. or people just don't know where the fold button is and hit their gutshots and shit. i mean seriously. when can i run good for once.

anyways, heres april so far

i'm gonna move down to nl2 for a couple days and if i get under $100 i'm just going to cash it out becuase now i'm just really unmotivated because i can't win a goddamned hand. i have $127 and i started the month with about $230...so fucking gay

and if it matters...my nl5 fullring stats are 13/6/2.... -2BB/100 over 14.6k hands. any help? any tips? how do i win because i figure i'm doing everything right - playing only premiums, betting strong when i have top pair/sets, yadda yadda. folding anything below AJo OOP but i'm limp SCs in late position if theres a lot of callers. always raise 99+ from middle position. only 3 bet with QQ+, try to get it in with KK+ and maybe QQ depending on the player. that's more or less how i'm playing right now.

believe me, MOST microstakes downswings are due to huge leaks.
tilt is the most common.

I dont understand, you seemed to play solid tight abc poker when I met you at the tables. I'd also like to know whats going on. If you want to discuss hands or anything with me or give eachother's opinion and analysis on hands and stuff, send me a PM and I'll give you my msn. It'd be cool to have someone at the same stakes to mind pick every now and again.

sounds like u know the basics

i spent a long time on NL2-NL10 full ring

the one thing i think u can change is either get ur VPIP down or get ur PFR up. your stats should be closer together.

ie... dont LIMP/flat call. half of your hands right now u are going into the flop without the lead. the lead is a very nice thing, so try and either raise/fold instead.

if it's folded or limped to you, and ur in one of the 3 late positions, raise up KQo, TT+ and better if u want to play looser

or just stick to AQ+ JJ+ if you want to have an easier time and still be profitable

cbet most of the time in heads up pots and give up on turn if your called and you have nothing

open raise on the button with a wide range, stealing helps alot

never bluff, every time u bet, besides a cbet, do it for value or dont do it at all, think of the hands you are probably value towning, and include a wide range usually since people often call with AQ high (player dependent of course)

aim for stats like

6/4 (extra tight, boring, but u will win over the long run)
8/6 (that is like stealing on the button with A8+ and pairs, and then raising like KQ+ in other spots)

or like 10/8 is good too but probably stick to tighter that way PF edge is more important and relies less on what u do post flop

umm... i dont know if this will help at all as i was a n00b back then but here is my stats form NL5 full ring, played around october last year.

maybe compare this with ur stats and see if theres anything of a big difference, i dont really stand by my stats but they must of worked so maybe try to emulate them if u want

ur probably in a downswing but try and keep playing ur a game, and dont move down to NL2 until u hit $80 alright! keep at it

play some more hands today and make a new blog about what stats u ran at

and if ppl say u have leaks... well u probably do but only minor ones, fuck them!! dont listen, just keep playing!

CLIFF NOTES:

get ur PFR and VPIP closer so like 10/8, 8/6, 6/4
get the lead more going into the flop
oh and GET PokerTracker/PAHUD combination, sooooooo good (but if u cant now get it some time in the future maybe wen u move up)

full ring

There are obviously some huge leaks in your game to lose this much at microstakes no offense. It's hard to comment on what they are exactly since I cannot watch you play but I recommend you watch video's and read more articles/books about the game and DON'T mass multitable. Play 4 tables at a time max since you need LEARN from mistakes. Trust me there is no reason to multitable when you are learning and it WILL hurt you. Take notes, notice trends, and use those tendencies to put your opponents into places where they will make mistakes.

Dude if you're gonna respond to me like that why should I give you advice. Every person who plays poker has leaks; thats how people win at poker. You win by making smaller and fewer mistakes than your opponents. If you can't admit that there are leaks in your game then your ego will crush you and leave you tilting and broke. I'm not saying I play perfect poker, but I analyze my sessions and look for ways to improve. Bitching about running bad every two days gets you nowhere. People who "run bad" for huge stretches at microstakes have leaks and tilt issues in general that make whatever bad luck they have 4x worse because they can't cope with losing. Thats all the ranting I'm going to do right now because I like new players to succeed to keep this game growing, but take a step back and analyze your losing hands and think about what could be done differently to make you lose less, and, consequently, look at your winning hands and see how you could win more,

I'll post my NL5 stats when I get back home next week and see if they help. I was playing 10/8 (though I believe I could have loosened up a lot). The PF raise should be at least 50% of the VPIP. Most people have 75%. My flop AF was through the roof... between 7 and 10. Cbetting is really, really important at NL5 because so many people call a 7bb PF raise with 78s hoping to hit something.

I agree with Xenocidegs. I barely broke even for my first 10K hands at NL2 playing "okay" poker for a total beginner. But I had big problems which had nothing to do with bad luck. There were problems that affected every single hand, or a huge percentage of hands. Like not raising enough, not river betting enough, not bet sizing well, that kind of thing. But the great thing is that at this stage, I just need to solve one or two big problems and my win rate goes up drastically. AK used to be my biggest losing hand too =)
