Stake. by TheHuHu, May 07

I just cashed out my BR to pay my credit card bill two days ago and I'm already itching to play poker already . I won't be able to deposit again until the end of the month and I will only be able to deposit a few hundo and still live comfortably.

If anyone wants to stake me for NL50 hit me up with a PM. I had very good BR management for lowstakes and never tilted any money off during my grind, although it did take me a while to finally hit NL100 after taking breaks from poker on and off. I really don't know the "business" aspects of a stake as in how much the investor gets back and with how much interest etc., etc., I am confident I can crush NL50 again and get to 20 buyins to NL100 in no time so if anyone is interested, let me know.

My 23rd Birthday Bash by JonnyCosMo, May 07

Well my birthday is on May 8th, so it's not really my birthday yet, but last weekend we decided to celebrate it anyways mainly because it's the end of the school semester for everyone down here and shit is getting busy. So last Saturday me and a bunch of my friends met up at this sushi place called Mizu's in Mission Beach and then went off to Ivy downtown for a pretty shippin' night. Since this year has been so amazing for me already, and I'm up almost x2 as much as I made all of last year I decided this was the night to go totally degen and spew on. So spew #1: The night before I called up my best friend from Hawaii and asked him what he was up to, he said nothing so I told him to come to my birthday party. He's like wat, how am I going to get out there? So I ship him a $1300 roundtrip ticket, and he flys his ass out here. Spew #2: Saturday morning I'm calling around trying to book a party bus for the night but every place I call had been booked for weeks. I totally had no clue you had to book party buses so far in advance. In Vegas you can just call up anywhere and they insta ship you whatever you want. San Diego is not Vegas I guess So I spend like 2 hours calling up all these limo places trying to find something that will take us downtown and finally one of the last places I call, they pick up and tell me that a party had canceled their reservation for a 20 passenger party bus 2 hours before I called. How good do I run? Honestly... does anyone run better than me at anything? Finally, I call up my boy Markus (LURPED) and he calls up his VIP hook-ups downtown and books a sweet table on the rooftop at Ivy for $3k. After that, the rest of the night happened as follows:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Blog00.jpg
Dinner at Mizu's - Anyone like the tie? Goes good with the $600 Armani shirt I wearing yeah?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Blog03.jpg
Me and Mah Boy - Spending exactly 12 hours in San Diego before going back to school on Monday. LOL Sickest spew of life

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Blog04.jpg
Me and Mah Girls - 3 of my closest friends down here

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Blog05.jpg
Me and Mah Group - There are people missing from the pic But lol fun times

Btw, bottle service is a lot cheaper than in Vegas in downtown San Diego... like we were struggling to get close to the 3k minimum even after ordering a bottle of Cristal and Dom. Needless to say, Sunday morning was... painful.

BBV by DustySwedeDude, May 07

Brag: Turned stuck 3k into up about 2k in a couple of days, finally in the green for May. Mid stakes is ez. (joking, no sample size, running good^^)
Beat: Can't win at 1/2 :/,down like 800 for the month.
Variance: Stakeing project is going well. Might actually have someone to play CCR with within like a year.

rigged ! :P by PplusAD, May 07

that is todays graph

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/1530/7thmayru7.jpg

I got coolerd and sucked out the first 900 hands like if theres no tomorrow
nothing worked out and i was thinking about quitting the session.

But then i thought for a few momments :
I am not tilted !
I am calm
I feel good
I play good

so why should i stop ?
this would only make sense if u believe in riggedness of online poker and stuff.

one of the very first things a player who wants to be a winning player must realize is :
There is no such thing as riggedness in online poker ( except for PokerStars SNGS and FTP in generall

So i just kept going and eventually i didnt get fucked by the dealer anymore and made all back easily.
YAY
I am proud of myself for 2 reasons

1.) I am a winning player at NL50
2.) I managed to stay calm and keeping A when i had lost ~ 6 buy ins in the first 1000 Hands getting sick buttfucked by the deck and the dealer >-<

GJ to myself

SO here are my may results so far :

Days played 4th-7th may
Hands 4794
Profit 236$
hours played 10h 15min
net profit /h ~ 23$
BB/100 ~ 4

i feel pretty good right now

Gl all

Well, so I moved up to NL50 and here is how it turned out this time:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/42db39f452293e7268b2c46fcf0135d9.jpg

So I am wondering..

http://www.liquidpoker.net/userpoll/draw.php?poll_id=618
Poll: Is it time to move up again?
(Vote): Yes
(Vote): No
(Vote): I hope you move up and bust

I should add that I have the BR for NL100, the question is more about the winrate over the given sample...

thinking of each damn hand pays by whamm!, May 07

running so bad at 100nl. but i just think pokerstars owes me a boomswitch thats why i havent done well/broke even lately. its never the variance if its like everyday already lol. sat down and played every hand like my life depended on it, as a sort of experiment and just to see if im just mindlessly playing tag which is causing the variance. it seems that thinking about every hand and its value, against ur assessment of your opponents really does help. milked the shit of every solid hand here. well this is 25nl tho. still im planning on playing at 100nl again if i see that the lack of focus is what really caused all my variance, cause when i did so well i remember playing every hand like im doing 1 tabling poker. lol

10 BI - big money experiment ... by pazzini, May 07

yo

as i promised i will introduce you to my grat 10 bi bankroll management plan that i recently planned in details.

I The game
The game is HU SNG, at ipoker network. I start with around 12 usd at husng 1,05$. i play mostly 2 games at a time.

II Basic rules
1. I move up in stakes when i reach 10 bi for next level. so at ipoker it will look like that:
level-------play till----need to win------move down when got:
1st 1,05$ :------21,00-------9 -----------
2nd 2,10$ :-----52,50-------31,50-----------11,00
3rd 5,25$ :----105,00-------52,50-----------32,00
4th 10,50$:----210,00------105,00-----------55,00
5th 21,00$:----525,00------315,00-----------110,00
6th 52,50$

2. i made myself a little philosophy of the game, its some basic rules that i have to obey, like f.e. not play in the early morning, play 100 % focused on the game, no multitabling( i will play 2 tables only at these very low stakes), i dont play more than 1h in one session, whenever i lose 2 hu in a row i make brake etc...

III Why i do that?
Its kinda of eksperiment. Its main goals is training some basic skills connected with poker like discipline, patience, knowing when to stop playing, learning to get off the computer etc.
Besides i kinda feel good playing with 10 bi onetabling, the swings are not that crazy then.

My plan is to be at least + 2 bi on one day so i would spend less than one week at each level.

Its gonna be hard, especially at lower stakes, cause i think there are many very good players :
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/439940

if i run good i plan to play a few hu at 52, and then move back to 21 and stay there to grind for real...
so wish me luck pplz

pic of a chicks to make this experiment succesful: ring a bell??

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/cd7e6e8cd1b8ef07a553765a3cfba2a3.jpg

BR: 12$ ( 9 to go)

non poker stuff;
- passed the last exam yesterday, but still a few things to do at my uni
- tommorow got next date with the chic i met at the club almost two months ago, didnt get much time to think about it during the exams, but now we can get down to bussiness

Another Neilly attempt by Kapol, May 07

k2o4 and CrownRoyal inspired me to do a Neilly attempt as well. But I decided to take a different approach - push pre-flop with random hands, show them to my opponent and than start pushing a little tighter and hope to suck out/hold. Starting with 1BI from NL50 I decided to play up till NL400.

Here are the results:

NL50

NL100

NL200

And, finally, NL400

Introductory post by Sanai, May 06

Hey guys,

So I've started this blog for several different reasons: for one, I will be leaving for Mongolia soon to serve in the Peace Corps team there and I want to have a website where I can upload pics and update people on my adventures (of course this is heavily dependent on my access to internet); I also need to track my poker progress so on the advice of a friend, I'm hoping to record my results on here.

A little about me? I'm Korean-American, I love motorcycles, and I just graduated from UM-Ann Arbor. I have a degree in Political Science... probably going to law school after my PC term of 2 years.

Poker-wise, I'm just starting afresh on PS with an intent to take the game seriously. I've been studying a lot and analyzing a lot of hands in the past few days, and I guess this is my first serious attempt at the game. I deposited small amts of $20 or so in a couple of random sites and, of course, went busto pretty quick since I had no idea what I was doing. I plan on attacking it a little bit more seriously and intelligently this time around.

Well, I guess that's about it for now. Cheers.
