So I drank a bit and feel like fucking around, so I decided I'd be willing to risk 1 buyin on an attempt to run up to a neilly 10k. So I'm gonna sit @ 2 NL50 HU tables and play it out. Rules are that I won't reload and will move up to the next level as soon as I have 2 buyins for it - so, up to NL100 HU @ 200, NL200 HU @ 400 and so on. No reloading and only moving as much money up as I've won. So if I hit 185 I'll probably just move the hell up.
Seeing as I have zero HU experience beyond final tabling micro sng's, this will probably be the fastest $100 I ever lost. But if I don't get dominated quickly it could be pretty fucking fun, especially if I heater it up!
On top of that I get to bump my latest short story, which is in the post right below this one. Enjoy it.
(Yes, I know I'm copying caleb (crownroyal) but since I'm a super nit and never gamble this is definitely different. Plus I'm pretty sure I'll lose the 100 really fucking fast, where as caleb had a chance of pulling it off).
EDIT: peaked @ 278 and then lost it all @ NL200 - oh well. The best part was the railbirds who made it a million times more fun. There was a bit of time where they lost me when I switched tables and it was very boring talking to myself, but when they found me it was all worth it, hehe.

| | the path i've walked by collegesucks, May 06
i made my first cash deposit about a year ago in the summer of 2007 for 50 dollars. popped open two tables of 25NL FR and proceeded to donk it up to 120, at which point i moved up to 100NL and stacked it all off in the final hand of AQs vs AA pre... (i still remember that guy's acct name: LaPoCaFlame, that Korean NIT). a few uneventful months passed, in which i deposited 200 dollars on FTP and lost it all playing playing 10NL FR.
Decemeber
my friend had cashed for about 1.50 in an MTT with the last 50 cents he had left. he ground that up to $75 shortstacking 5NL and gave me $25 dollars to play with. i fired up 4 tables of 2NL and proceeded to go broke again. but in between i had built up a good amount which i periodically donated to my friend who'd neilly his BR up in the low stakes up to the 300-400 range and then go broke, get his $20-$30 stake from me and repeat.
January
at this point i was pretty much broke but my friend sent me $100 to play with and i figured i wasn't getting any better playing anywhere else so i started taking poker v v v seriously @ 2NL 6max. at the same time i started visiting LP religiously and reading and thinking about poker pretty much all day long. this was when i started accepting the fact that bankroll management is the very foundation of successful poker.
February/March
10NL 6max aka Hell Difficulty
April
although i was thinking about nothing other than poker the past few months, i really didn't start putting in the hands though up until 25NL and April. And that was when all my hard work started bringing results. for one, by this point i figured this semester at school was already shot to shit, so might as well focus on the one thing that's going ok in my life. fortunately i started getting a feel for my edge over the microstakes game by this point.
May
today. what a glorious day. i finally bade my farewell to the "micro" tab on PStars and moved up to 50NL. pretty fucking stoked right now and extremely hopeful for the summer.

on a side note, i'm probably down about $300 staking my degen friends but they do cash out whenever they can to pay for our friday night binge sessions so i suppose i consider it even.
well that's my poker career so far. as pleasing as the way the br looks right now, im probably even more satisfied by how much i've improved at the game over the past few months. thanks for all the love and support LP.. couldn't have done it without you.
s'pose that's all for now =)

oh btw. 50NL please don't fuck me in the ass.. k thx

| | First 1k day by Python817, May 06
This is like the first losing day I had since like april 11th or something and it's my worst day money wise. Needless to say it kinda sucked but I feel I played fine throughout the session and just ran pretty bad. Hope tomorrow goes better or I'm gonna have to move down if I have a few more days like this.

| | Big big news! by Narious, May 06
So I went out to dinner with my dad tonight and he told me he's getting married! Wow! He also asked me to be best man at his wedding and of course I accepted!
I'm quite excited about it. He's going to hold the wedding in halifax and he's rented the blue nose for the occasion!
He's been with the girl in question for quite a while and there a great match! I'm very happy for him!
He also asked me to come to work for him tonight, and I said I would. I'll be reporting to his CFO next tuesday and doing some work in Logistics and distribution.
I'm actually quite excited about everything.
I'm also rather excited!
YAY!
Err, Rather drunk that is! LOL, Mmm, Beer.

| | Done w/ Intership by Oddeye, May 06
Hehehe I'm finally done with my internship at the ministry of revenue of Québec and thats just better than any winning day, not that I didn't like the place, hell this was the coolest job I could get probably with the best team. Well its not really done since I'm going to eat smoked meat with them friday. On a poker note, I've not put in many hands during April just due to tiredness and doing some other things at night time, still managed to end up something 7-8k, now my roll is 44k w 1.5k RB. Even if I didn't play much I tried to watch some CR and read a bit on some forums, such as leggopoker which wasn't blocked at my job (pretty much every good site was blocked, not like I had hours to read in the end).
Anyway good luck I'm probably gonna put in much higher volume of hands this month, lets see how this goes!

Can not complain
http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/4619/4th6thmayxg5.jpg
played 7h 8 tables NL50 8max in these 3 days.
I am behind in amount of hands i planned to play ( but i am not feeling too good today (dont know , i am somehow strangely tired ) so i rather dont play long sessions for the sake of just putting in many hands)
I also stopped HU NL50
rake is too high and it motherfucking tilts me that every newblor leaves the table after he sucked out on you
so i probably stay with cashgame FR this month

| | stars :-/, biggest pot by Royal_Rumble, May 06
Just ended a NL200 session, this is how it went:
+ Show Spoiler +
+ Show Spoiler +
+ Show Spoiler +
At that moment I felt like breaking down and crying like a little baby. But I want to be a real man, so I wouldn't let the shit, stars dropped on me affect my game.
Wanna be a real poker player? Wanna be a tough guy? Then you have to continue to give your best and sweep away that upcoming feeling of tilt.
This is how I got rewarded:
+ Show Spoiler +
+ Show Spoiler +
I won some other small to medium pots, and in the end, I even made some profit.
So, to all the whiners out there. Get your shit together, don't tilt, continue to give your best and you will get rewarded.
Considering the other lessons I gave:
The one with Alphablend went quite well I guess, we were talking about lots of stuff, also some private things. I always enjoy talking to native speakers in order to improve my english.
He observed me playing some NL25 Fullring and would later state that I "steamrolled the tables", which is quite a statement, considering that NL25 is full of stations that won't get bulldozed easily.
I had another lesson with rockman255 which didn't went that good because I was a little bit tired and my english was quite off.
He hasn't played poker for long and he is struggling with a downswing at the moment, but I think he has great potential because of his degree in theoretical math he has a great understanding for the numbers that come with Texas Holdem. Understanding the math is soooo important, cannot stress it enough.
So if you read this, keep giving your best, play lots of hands but not many tables. With more hands comes more experience and that will improve your postflop play, which with you have problems I guess.
Don't try to outplay the NL25 donks (please don't feel offended if you play NL25), just play ABC poker and you will be fine.
If a station gets aggressive, it has it, always remember this.
I want to post a great MMA match here.
Personally I think it's a great fight because it shows the different martial arts you can use in this sport.
On one hand you have the Olympics Gold Medalist Judoka Hidehiko Yoshida, and on the other side the Thai boxing expert and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt holder Wanderlei "the Axe murderer" Silva.
Commented by Bas Rutten and some other guy.
Part 1:

Part 2:

Keep it real and good luck.

what an epic night for me. i dont remember being that drunk for ages. actually i dont remember anything from last night. all i know is what i've heard from jon (twistedecho). so yeah last night me, jon and two other guys went out. we started drinking at jon's, then went to a pub, then went to a club and then ended up in casino. cliff notes cause i'm too lazy to write everything:
- dont remember anything after midnight
- woke up on the floor in my room at 3pm
- no idea how much i spent and lost
- lost my debit card
- i kept almost saying "nigga flush" at the table when we were playing 3 card poker and the dealer was black (nigga flush is obv when all ur cards are black - doesnt matter if it's spades or clubs)
- security guy from my halls just popped in to ask if im ok. so i said yeah why u asking. and apparently he found my at 8am sleeping in the corridor and put me to my room
- was playing blind most of the time and didnt look at my hands until showdown
this was the 4th day in a row when i went out. i'm done with my exams. i only have one left on 16th of may and that's it. haven't played poker for ages but might start putting in more hands from tommorow. i think i broke even in april. i might've made like 1-2k but not sure.

http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/808/evmayxh5.png
had a pretty shocking downswing for about 5 bi but i grinded through it. probably had to do with hitting 3 more sets than expected in may, yay for sets
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/7049/setesou7.png
also gave my first lessons in poker a week or so ago to Story Teller, hope it went alright i don't want to primarily be doing lessons too much but if there are any low limit full ring players that really want one, pm me and i might be able to help out.
thx to anyone that comments the hands i post during sessions, really appreciated

So I'm turning 23 today, I took a couple days off work to travel to Stockholm. I've been playing some NL100 on ftp, I'll probably withdraw and deposit on another site, since I don't have rakeback on ftp.
Life is good, and Stockholm is going be sick, I'll try to update with some pics from Stockholm.
Oh and from the old sc days, )ls(honest and liquid.drone are turning 24 today if I remember correctly. - and George Clooney.
Here are some stats:

I ran into a shortstack today
The shortstack ran into my AK

In the very next hand his hand was amazing
But he slowplayed preflop instead of raising

I said, "it's how you use it, not the size of your stack."
But he had left the table and didn't come back.

Well, I've had to cash out my entire BR due to bills. It sucks because I hit 20 buy-ins for NL100 a couple days ago and was planning to take some more shots . Fuck my life. Going to have to grind some SNGs again starting next week.

| | nearing supernova... by whamm!, May 05
well the stake so far has gotten really back on track, not great performance, not at all, could've played a whole lot better and more focused. changing styles helped a bit. but still running bad/breakeven getting a microscopic winrate hihihi. at this rate, ill be at 200nl hopefully after a week from now. variance it seems, comes from how i play lately, not making enough valuebets and paying their's off almost 70% of the time, esp in RR pots where i got qq or jj. gotta make those laydowns next time, and float more often in position when i do pick up something. that's what ive observed, plus running good wouldn't hurt too. otherwise my poker life is bearable enough to keep on playing and taking a peek at the next limit, my BR management has changed now, no more 100bi per limit, screw the money, i wanna play at a decent limit and play variance there(lol) where getting 2% ptbb actually is worth something over a large sample. in so far as my promise not play microstakes anymore, ive kept that promise so far this month, and played exclusively 100nl nonstop. supernova is so near i can smell it, all this pain for that stupid supernova tshirt! ROFL
btw,
when i first started playing poker online, i wanted that pokerstars cap so bad, i kept playing and playing not caring if i lose up until i order that cheap khaki cap of theirs lolol
