first of all, THIS IS A SYMPTOM. things are bad and chances are that in a respectful timespan other bad weird things will pop up - FIX THIS. start by changing your mindset towards everything, yes, IN GENERAL. this is not right man, how can you tolerate a situation like this, are you dealing with 10 year olds?

Confused, if she's got a weight problem, wouldn't it solve everything if she didn't have a car?

Don't know if she's often all moody and bitchy like this, if it's a one time occurence it's totally forgivable, or if it's some deeper reason we don't know about.

Might just be a random congurence test, women like to do that, pretty positive you're suppose to lay down the law. And if she's refusing to talk to your dad, time to find a new gf.

If she is ready to work for 3,5k and "donate" it to your dad its fine for her to be mad.

I wasn't going to respond till I saw what Andrew Song wrote, what a load of bullshit. People have a wide range of personalities and women can be especially irrational, and respect/pride/honor can often be completely lost on them. How exactly do you earn someones respect? a certain % of the population won't respect you no matter what you do. Can a black man earn the respect of the KKK? people are irrational greedy and selfish, many ppl don't even have a decent grasp on what respect actually is.


As for floofys gf, she is acting irrationaly, selling a car is a fairly big decision, selling it to your son for 3.5k undervalue adds even more to that decision. She shouldn't have put all her expectation into one possible outcome which was dependent on a decision that someone else was making. She really has no right to be angry, it does suck when people don't go through with their plans, but its also fairly common and it should have been expected.

She's rude and a spoilt brat

Andrew is spot on, shes beeing rude and that has a lot of to do with you probably.

Don't blame yourself. Explain to her that she is not married to you and isn't entitled to shit. Tell her you sort of feel bad for putting her in the spot she is in but offer help finding other budget cars... What does a car mean to her anyway? Is she having problems with the car does she view one as a purse, earring or w/e ? If she wants a nice car she has to dish out a lot of cash, if she wants a practical car then all it takse is a little research. Tell her you feel bad but offer help.

Ok first of all, i think you guys are misjudging my GF (that or i'm being naive). Yes she definetly over reacted yesetrday, i guess that can be explained by the fact she values trust/promises a lot, and also she really wanted the car and not getting it gives her a lot of trouble since her own car has a major problem. Girls can be irrationnal, especially when they feel sad/mad etc.

Its actually easy to take one situation and judge a person out of it. My gf does a lot more house work than me and shes a loving gf.

Now today i kinda reasoned her and she realized she didn't have to be this mad at my dad, so she seems to change her mind about this.

Today my dad called me, and he said he thought about some of the stuff i told him (GF mad, helping GF = eventually helps me if i'm gonna be with her for a while), and he said hes up for the deal, but only if #1 i think i'm gonna stay with her a while #2 i actually want the acura.

My gf also wants a definite answer. She's like well whatever he can say no but i want an answer (she currently is at her dad's house far away from our house and is able to repair some of her car for cheap since she knows mecanics over there).

I don't even know if the trade is a good thing or not for me. It would cost me 2000$ (i would pay my dad 2000$ + 2500$ of my car), and i would have a 220000 km acura 2005 instead of a 284000 km honda civic 2002. Both cars works just fine and i don't drive that long distances. My dad says the acura will drop of value much more than my honda.

Sounds like a regular case of "building expectation/raising hope" and " getting disappointed" at things not turning the way it's supposed to. Just give her a little time to cool off, be compassionate about the situation and she will come around if you guys have a worthy relationship. Humans are not black and white as they are on LP.
