Not true, he would take this line with AK and KK only I feel. Doing that with A8 is stupid because he already bet flop and you called, so there's no reason he's checking turn.

A8cc unlikely because there's no way he's ever betting that on the flop, slick very likely and he checks turn in accord, kings less likely but still possible, I doubt he's betting and then checking with kings there, though, unless he's thinking something like "I'm losing to slick, let's see if he bets."
