I think there's a serious lack of discipline on the vast majority of people, like they will troll the internet for 5-6 hours and play only 2-3 hours a day (while browsing the internet even, or chatting on skype/msn) and then whine about running bad, not being able to win or improving, etc.

For me and I'm sure 99% of the other hardcore winning grinders it's been nothing but commitment at least on the first couple years, playing basically 24/7 and devoting most of our daily thoughts into the game and improving.

But this doesn't mean that if after 1 year you fail that you don't have what it takes, it's possible but it might also be possible that you are thinking this is way easier than it actually is (unless u luckbox one or two tournaments that is, then it's a walk in the park).

What I'm trying to say is that i'm pretty sure myself, wobbly, and a lot of other grinders dedicated in that couple years what many will never dedicate to poker their whole lives. I mean I even sometimes declined going out with friends/gf because it was friday/saturday night, the juicest time to play. Now it would never occur to me to not go out even if there's a massive fish but I already did my sacrifice.

Btw glad that you made it longple!, and good luck to everyone, there's still plenty of money to be made from poker whether it's NLHE cash games, tournaments, OMAHA or STUD/whatever, don't miss the chance!

i read on 2p2 ftp/ipoker regs thread alot and basically every ftp reg says ipoker nl100-200 is harder and way more aggro

from what I remember NL200 on stars is pretty tough as well, NL100 on contrast is/was incredibly soft, actually I did play on ipoker a bit those limits not too long ago, I thought basically the same as on stars, NL100 easy, NL200 not so easy

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by running away from the scene of an accident.

and for those of you who think i was being a dick, its only because wobbly is a mega troll asshole to a lot of people on this site. im quite sure if i 24 tabled 2/4-10/20 on stars i wouldnt achieve a 2bb/100 winrate. wobbly is a very very good player and if youve seen some of his hands he comes off as someone who makes good reads and is very confident in his skills (such as checking behind boats and losing to higher boats). but being a mega douche who is full of himself and boasts about his winnings constantly makes him pretty irritable.

im moving to vancouver in 3 weeks, how would you guys rank the following sites in terms of toughness of games at 1/2-3/6 nl and plo?

stars, party, ipoker, merge

are there any others i can play on?

1/2 fr on stars, the games a prettyy soft. I've been table selecting quite abit lately and i'd say that theres usually atleast one ~100bb fish at each of my ~15 tables at peak times. + theres alot of bad regs.. dunno about the other sites

I dont know what a dt drop is. Is it a wrestling move? -OlyLast edit: 29/07/2011 01:34

dont play 2/4 on stars, its plagued with 25/50 regs who pretend to be 2/4 regs

1/2 is pretty soft tho

thats quite an exageration, what 25/50 moves down to 400nl? makes no sense

hmm maybe our definition of reg differs, but i consider a reg to be someone that beats the limit.

it makes sense to drop down if there are no higher games running at the time and your a 20 tabler. Can still make good profit playing 4 tables of 5/10, 6 of 3/6 and the rest of 2/4

yesterday i was sitting at a 2/4 table with 2 25/50 regs and a former 100/200 reg (wobbly, andrewboccia and mr zahmat). I didn't spot the fish

As far as iPoker goes, I used to play there a lot. Nowadays whenever I open the client, I see like 6 tables on NL400/NL600 SH without any fish. On better hours there are probably more tables but I doubt that there's gonna be a lot of fish on the website.

Figures when every reg out there can get 50-65% rakeback on iPoker, it should be the toughest network. Networks like Boss, Merge, Entraction are probably softest. I don't think Stars is all that tough nowadays compared to more European oriented websites.
