I got banned from TL all the time. I'd get alot of my posts edited by mods (to say things that I never said). Made me think very low of the liquid community.

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.

people on TL have a really hard time understanding jokes... they are always so serious lol. Btw if you want we can play some game (I am pretty bad as I only played like 7-8 games but it's gonna be lol).

I remember how badly I wanted to get bot access in BW to ban hammer so many noobs in the chat rooms, I can't only imagine how much more I would want to ban randoms on TL. Back in the high school days if I was a mod I probably would have sat around waiting for any excuse to ban pwn as many people as I could so yes I can see the abuse from TL mods and that is gay

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

They are obsessed with korean pro gaming. Always thought it was a little much. Feel like half those guys would cut their left nut off to be a pro gamer in korea.

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.

sadly though these bans now have nothing to do with Idra, I might have been a bit overboard with Idra but in this case It's TOTALLY uncalled for

it's like TL has 100 Baal's running around with admin powerz :[

blackjacki2   United States. Mar 02 2010 00:39. Posts 2581

Back in the day they were lenient as hell. I blame Rekrul for making it cool to ban people. Now mods try to hard to get laughs with their bans like it's a competition or something. There are actually threads like "funniest Ban list post" or something. Doesn't really bother me too much if someone gets banned for posting tl;dr. It's not like I will miss that person too much and they are probably only temp banned for a day or 2 anyway. I've been banned many times but all of mine were deserved. I started posting there when I was like 15 and I was worse than Baal.

btw it's a lot harder to moderate a gaming forum than a poker forum. The average level of maturity of the average LPer is much higher than that of a TLer. Chess forums don't even need moderators.

Etherone   Canada. Mar 02 2010 00:44. Posts 753

they don't ban people for being retards ( which they should) and then to consolidate they will ban any meme posted or one line joke etc etc

Fayth    Canada. Mar 02 2010 00:47. Posts 10085

I wouldn't whine about it if the bans were justified really, but it isn't, at all, not even close, makes me think the mods are fucking 15 yrs old power hungry nerds :/

Unpopular random bad poker player opinion (^^), but I think TL is fine. Maybe they were harsh with you Fayth but I honestly was like "who the fuck is this cutefayth troll?" before realizing "Oh crap it's Fayth from LP wtf." So it's not like they just hate you randomly, your posting was pretty bad/negative (granted I really only saw the Idra thing)

LP is a lot more sarcastic and willing to goof off/level each other because they are a much tighter community. If everyone at TL acted like people at LP then TL would be a gigantic clusterfuck of "lol *one sentence* /end thread" and "tl:dr" "jokes." So naturally mods are alot tighter. But once you prove yourself to be a valuable poster, things relax alot.

*imo* it felt like you just came on to TL after what I'm assuming is years of general inactivity and acted privileged just because you post often and are popular on LP. Which you know, that's your call whether you care or not ^^

Well yeah I was an ass in Idra's thread but he needled me so I had to flame him back LOL

anyway though I haven't been out of line lately, haven't insulted anyone, trying to get my points across, I really think mods hates me and are just abusing their priviledges ;o

Pretty sure the mods you speak of are just jealous of your 100k months and massive poker earnings. Need to stroke their egos by ban-sticking you. It's obv the only logical conclusion.

when LP was down for like 3 days last year I made a blog on TL and it instantly got closed with a bunch of TL fags saying things like "oh god another lp scrub" I INSTANTLY made another blogpost very upset because I couldn't find any resources on TL where anyone had said anything useful regarding the LP issue and I wasn't sure if it was my PC/network or if it was a server issue... I got in a bit of a fight with manifesto7 about it although neither of us necessarily said anything unprofessional, he closed my thread and threatened me and i just felt like it was BS because no one could dispute any of my points and i just got slammed.

like two weeks later he actually pmed me and apologized which caught me completely off guard, i still have no idea what motivated him to do that but i decided to re apply myself to the community because of it.

i have been banned once @ tl.net but that wasn't with this username. I had 3k+ posts I think but i was really immature/annoying. It hurts me to see posts that i made then, i've never been banned on tl.net since i had this same username.

I've never been banned from TL - mostly because I just lurk. I think I registered the account in 2004 but it still only has like 150 posts or something crazy like that :3

well to be fair there are a lot of really dim people roaming TL nowadays, and i guess they feel they shouldn't ban someone for not being too bright. The problem this generates is obvious, from the difficulty of figuring out who is actually stupid and who is trolling, to the pent up frustration from seeing so much stupid shit posted in so short span of time, without really being able to do much.

the only semi solution was to declare a jihad on memes and one liners since trolls use them frequently. i still think rekrul should be given his banning privileges back, along with a few cases of beer, since he seems to not have a problem banning people for being dense when he is drunk, but can appreciate a cheap laugh or a short one line answer for what they are.

/end thread and tl;dr are posts that are not allowed on TL for a good reasons since they are disrespectful to other posters.

Read http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=17883 to get a better grasp of the moderation on TL before you start calling out mods and moderation at the very least familiarize yourself with the rules.
