Just watched the first episode of the ESPN broadcast of the WSOP 2009 Main Event.
I really enjoyed it, because of Lex "Raszi" Veldhuis who was abusing the table.
I put all the hands Lex played onm youtube:
one question: Did no one tried to slowplay you with a big hand?
lol @ the K4 hand. Got a little deja vu

That K4o call was amazing. I like how stunned and angry Muenz was. How the heck did Raszi justify that call???

same here, i remember him playing the party poker cup of nations, but ive also seen him play a lot LHE in iPoker and PS. I can't really tell if he is a live or online player.
EDIT: And lol I forgot about schniblor asking raszi "why do you call?"... He looked very tilted, lol priceless, I remember when he always bitched when losing in the WGT Showmatches to Arcneon and vs some others, don't know if he's changed, but he was always very bad mannered.

lol @ elezra "how did u know u had the best hand??" wtf
well obv he didnt... but given the fact that it was 2,85:1 he needed like 35% to win preflop... and he's ahead given his range cause the guy was pissed and Lex knew that. Also it was an instant shove... if he had big pair he would at least take a second to think. It's about a break-even call I guess given the stacks and range.
Regardless if it was slightly + or - EV you can't really fold cause people will start shoving on you ;o that was a big factor too
at least that's my interpretation

nah it was probably not a timing tell but given the circumstances calling is def. understandable given the odds and the high likelyhood he's got live cards
and it was suited this time iirc

I don't know how they edit show and how much time did RaSZi take to make that call... cause like with just single card you could have called given the odds
it like clear steal->re-steal from bb-> call the shover
( lol @ RaSZi's stare @ eli when he asked "how did u know u got the best hand" rofl glance )
Why does it have to be 2 "ambituous" players in a row showed in TV that happen to be coincidentaly Starcraft players ? (Khan and Raszi)
Oh yeah Demidov. Well i don't see him lurking around lp though so maybe that's why ?
Shin-il : Yeah it was very very very good for me too. Rekrul : YOU MOTHER FUCKING FUCKING SON OF A BITCH

Theres pretty much no way raszi's k4 hand is good. He was getting like 1.75-1 so the cold 4bet range he needed to be up against was like k7s+ q8s+ etc (I didnt do the math just going by a range somebody gave I saw in another online forum) . And for whatever reason people are much more likely to shove 67s there than k7s even though against most calling ranges they will play pretty much the same so his shoving range is probably tighter than that. But lets say his shoving range somehow is that wide then its almost certainly going to be a mistake for raszi to be 3betting in the first place.
But in the end even though its a mistake its not that big of a mistake there were plenty of much bigger mistakes people made throughout the day. So it doesnt really matter that much.

it's easier to estimate ranges when you play regular TAG style, and other have that perception of you
the hard part is for the outsiders to estimate shoving ranges vs LAG players... its really dynamic-dependant and you can't simply form a range watching the ME episodes
the only mistake might have been putting yourself in a spot like that thru isolating limper...
