lol I even made the effort of picking up something really short and catchy yet challenging and engaging to be sure not to lose his attention within the first 10 seconds of the video while making sure he gets the point and the only thing he finds to say is that i proved his point that all jazz is monotonous? fail... it's the complete opposite of monotonous rofl.

I feel like I'm dealing with a high school kid who is just absolutely confident that rap is the best music genre ever without even having knowledge on any other genre or just some brainwashed-by-pop-culture kid. shame on you for calling yourself a music maniac and thinking you have diverse taste in music when you can't even know a good song when you hear it and dismiss a whole genre of music filled with brilliant musicians.

if that is your perception of me then it's fine and I respect it but I'm afraid I don't agree. I may be drifting off subject in an argument but I'm not ignoring the core issues at all, quite the opposite I put quite an emphasis on it, even people tell me that all the time so I don't see how even if I'm inflating the whole thing it could ever change that much. that's really interesting, you barely post on this site but you know what my internet personality is like? are you basing this only on this thread? just wondering, I don't think I've been weird/bizarre in this thread, although I can definitely see why you would think that if you've been lurking this site for a long time. but if that's the case I'm not the same person that I was before so you might be seeing two different person and believe it's just one with two distinct personalities, that would explain it. I don't think you should dislike me or anyone just because of an argument. arguing doesn't make people enemies, or at least I've never seen it this way and I have the utmost respect for the person I'm arguing with unless they are being ridiculous like you have gotten in this thread on the Jazz subject, but even if I poke fun at you and your ignorance on a certain subject it doesn't mean I don't respect you as a person.

I must say I find it a bit ironic that you tell me this though because you've dismissed some of my posts previously and tried to put everything in your favor by stating that I'm using some sort of imbalanced strategem for arguing that made you unable to reply to me, I mean even if that was possible you could've still been quite clear on the subjects that I have touched instead of dismissing the whole thing. and now the only things you have found to say about jazz is that I had proven your point (I didn't so that sounded quite juvenile) and that we have different tastes and that this is all there is to it. In the first case you were wrong and just showed how musically ignorant you were on the subject (that is fine, look at your quote: you should learn from it) and in the 2nd one well I guess you just didn't know what to reply. It's not because we have different tastes, and it's not because you dislike Jazz that you can say that the whole genre is 'horrible' and 'monotonous'. The music has certain intrinsic qualities to it that you cannot take away from it, and by saying it was monotonous you did exactly that. It boggles my mind that someone can actually say such a thing, especially a self-proclaimed music maniac.

I've also argued a lot about music on last.fm for over two years on a weekly basis and nobody has ever mentioned anything like you just did. I would think that some people would've figured it out if it was the case no?
