And also, Galfond's squeezes are insanely small, especially when everyone is like 9,000bb deep. It's like he doesn't understand that people don't really raise/fold to 3-bets at that table. When Eli essentially makes it $6k to go with $50k already in the pot, he squeezes with QQ to like $22k. HUH? Make it $28k+, nigga. A standard 3-bet squeeze at 1/2 when there is a $6 raise and a caller, is to be $26-28, and that's with 100bb effective stacks all around the table. Yeah, I know he's a super gosu nigger and all but I thought he played those QQ horrible preflop.

Now, the hand probably would have still played out the same if he made it $28k or more to go, but that doesn't negate the fact that he played those QQ goddamn horribly.

Uhm.. he calculates his raise sizings so he can get all-in postflop. I don't think the sizing with the QQ was bad at all, just an unfortunate flop.

When you get 2 callers when you make it 22bb preflop with QQ (with most likely worse hands) I don't think you're doing bad at all.

Except that this is 500/1k which could be compared to 100NL where a standard squeeze size is like 13$ with an opener and a caller.

The blinds are $400/$800 but Daniel had the straddle of $1,600 and Eli made it like $6,000 to go. And I do know the standard squeeze for 5/1 is $13 so the standard squeeze but that is for 100bb stacks. If the original raiser is 2-300BB deep like everyone in HSP is, then the squeeze should be generally bigger, no? A decent squeeze size for Galfond should have been $28k or even $30k+ but he made it a meager $21k and some change.

There was SO much dead money in that pot with the antes and the straddle, a raise and a call. SO. MUCH. DEAD. MONEY.

Edit - I believe Eli only made it $5,600 with a BB of $1,600 so Galfond's squeeze was like fucking 13-14bb. So pathetic with everyone so deep.

You could even argue that he should make the squeeze way larger then $30k.

It's like, imagine if Galfond had air there and sought out the dead money, I highly doubt he would make the squeeze that small. That's why I respect Dwan's pre-flop play so much, he fucking owns these shitty little limps and raisers with any two cards. Just put Dwan in Galfond's spot in that hand. We wouldn't see such a pussy ass squeeze from him at all, especially with how everyone plays at the table.
