thing is, we dont need the 2nd commentator to be a poker expert, gabe is totally good enough in analyzing the game. benza was there to make gabe's jokes less awkward, and he was a great host, likeable, pleasant etc. imo gabe and A.J got along well and worked well together, i dont really get why they replaced him. aint broken, dont fix it

Come to think about it, Kara wasn't even really added to replace AJ. They just added a new part to the show where the players get interviewed to see their view on a certain hand and display their personalities. It's like they added a new feature and got rid of a different, useless one who was AJ. If you have a host and co-host on high stakes, it would help if one host/commentator plays the role of a person who's not an expert on poker but tries to understand it through the help of the main host (like on the Durrr heads up 1M challenge, Isaac Haxton and the other commentator). AJ was the dude that was just sitting there not even trying to understand what was going on. Imo the attempted humor between AJ and Gabe didn't feel natural since there wasn't any real connection between AJ and the players and poker in general. AJ never talked about any of the poker players, poker itself, and whether even if he plays. So in the end it was like who is this random old business looking guy doing with this guy that seems to at least have a genuine interest in poker? Yeah it kinda feels like there's an empty space when it shows just gabe talking so maybe they should have replaced AJ with another co-host instead of just getting rid of him and the co-host spot.

yeah the 2nd commentator doesn't need to be an expert, but at least be somewhat a poker enthusiast. Also, Kara is not just any chick, she's an active tournament player who has greater poker knowledge compared to all the other female interviewers.

meh, i don't mind the interviews that much because she forces people to say retarded things. but the "Did you know?" is retarded.

And if i wanted to listen to game analysis i'd want foxwoodsfiend as a commentator. He has a sexy philosophic voice also

AJ did the play by play. You have a play by play commentator and a color commentator. AJ announces the action and Gabe gives us analysis and jokes. It's a winning system. Now we have to listen to Gabe do the play by play and make jokes with nobody to banter with. The WSOP series of poker uses the same system. Lon calls the action and Norman Chad makes the jokes. I'd stop watching if they added someone like Isaac Haxton to the booth. His analysis is so weak and his voice is annoying as hell.

AJ and Gabe were hilarious, I don't know what some of you guys are talking about. Granted it was more Gabe, but AJ definitely added to Gabe's weird crackpot humor.

The bad thing is that when he runs out of air, his voice starts sounding like mmm... if he were forcing it to sound cool, i dont know if i explain myself but u know.. that kind of voice people do when they brag.

Lon/Chad are the best imo, really fluid commentary. Sexton/Van Patten were ok but a little too much showboating and Vince always thinks everything is amazing

Well for commenting the HU million dollar challenge you gotta have somebody of that level of play to comment on it, it would be unbearable with some donkey (like haxton's co-host) comment on it, that one really needs a lot of insight.
