I am a nit.

I am a person who makes money on the internet by playing poker instead of any other sorts of job because I hate working for other people.

I play poker for money,not for the other player's respect of my game or whatever. And if I can win money by playing like a nit at my stakes, i'm happy. I will never be ashamed of myself for this because the point of poker is making money. The day where everyone is gonna be too good for me to play nitty, well i shall ajust or find a new job, but until then I don't give a fuck whatever you think

Stupid thread imo. Nittyness is an annoying yet +EV style of poker. I could create a poll, good poker players - gay, because they take your chips.

nits actually just suck at poker

they don't make as much money as players who are willing to take risks and open up their games (and take a few beatings here and there)

slowly bleeding away money to better, more tactful players is not my idea of a respectable style choice. TAG =/= nitty

So? It's just a matter of choice. I prefer being in a good mood every day and winning consistantly but at a slow pace which is just fine with me since I'm making more than a regular job would pay me anyways

On the other hand, as good as you might be, you get pissed off all the fucking time and hate this game more and more every day.

I'm already too much of a stressed/nervous person to add even more tension by doing this

by the way, why can't nits adapt to other people's play? I consider myself a nit and I play like 18-19/14-15/3-4 and I adapt to people I play. I can open up my game very easily if the situation is profitable and it's 4 handed or less, but I still go back to the tight side the rest of the time, what's wrong with this? I guess my game must be opened up enough since regulars pay me off no? And if you tell me that they just all suck then why the fuck would I need to open up my game even more and put myself in marginal situations just to get other people's respect?

truth is, when I play I like playing with a tight image, i'm used to play with that image and it enables me to get away with some moves once in a while

on the other hand with a terrible image i'm just not as good as you high stakes players and I struggle more so I prefer playing with a tight image

In the end, I prefer being up multiple buy ins playing with what i'm comfortable with even if you guys view it as pathetic than being down a bunch but getting the LP credz for being a kr@zy playa

anyway the majority of nits are horrible in my experience. they fold over and over to resistance like 5-10 times in a row then randomly they've had enough and they'll shove all in with fuck all, and it's usually pretty obv when they do aswell, basically a lot of the nits i've played tilt veeeery easily against aggro players, it's pretty funny.

meh i know i have a good winrate i meant "slow pace" because i take it really easy and slow and grind the same limit for a while

This actually happens a lot at the live games i play. He bluffs into a 10 dollar pot for 20 bucks on river when it's checked down and he shows seven high. And has a smug smirk. I felt like punching him in the face for being such a faggot.

so much truth to this. i'd guess 80% of players chose their style because it was the acceptable (not pussy) thing to do. if you are making money playing like a nit then more power to you. i personally think it's a tough style cause good players pick on you, but if you win at it....keep on keepin on.

Shortstackers are bigger scum than nits. Nits are easy money, you just don't win it from them all at once. Simply chip chip away, don't stack off lightly with AA vs their sets...they just slowly bleed to you when they never earn enough with their sets to make their pf calls profitable.

they are nitty even when its hu in a turbo 6 max sng at 300/600
