Speaking as a non-fan of UFC, this card looks awesome. GSP is back! I didn't even know. I saw today that he's coming to my gym in a few weeks too for some weird bodybuilding event. Couple of the other fights seem interesting too.
fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccount

Yeah, it'll be good to see GSP again.
The UFC has done terrible promoting UFC 217 for some reason. Nobody is aware that if GSP wins, he'll be one of the few people to have won a UFC title in two different weight classes -- only 3 people or so have done that.
Thompson vs. Masvidal will be fun because Masvidal will be in Thompson's face with various punches and make him work. Thompson is also a counter striker, so he'll be trying all types of spinning shit.
Garbrandt vs. Dillashaw has fireworks written all over it. No need to sell it with words.
I actually like Duffy vs. Vick. Both have similar skill sets, and both are on the bigger side for the division.
While I think Aiemann Zahabi (Firas Zahabi's little brother) lost his UFC debut and looked like shit after 1 round, he is clearly skilled. I look forward to seeing his improvements.

This shit is stacked
Why Bisping > GSP as first impression tho? Even if he hasn't fought for 3 years or whatever, GSP s still going to just put him on the ground all day long imo
This is an awesome card, dont know why there is not big marketing on this I mean GSP could be middleweight champion coming from retirement and TJ vs Cody is a big rivalry with a great story about ex friends.

Masvidal > Thompson - Masvidal's good and tough enough to stay in Thompson's face all fight and Thompson's ability is all at range
Bisping > GSP - Just don't see GSP being able to do his GSP thing against someone who counts takedown defense as one of his strengths, is bigger, and is super active through every round he fights
Probably Cody > TJ though not too eager about -180. Cody > Cruz was really one of the most impressive performances in recent memory imo
Parlays in MMA are pretty dumb but I feel like Joanna, Walt, and Blaydes are in pretty free fights

I'm not the best MMA better, and i'm biaised as a french canadian, but i would favor GSP. Here is my opinion:
Reasons to bet GSP:
Bisping is bigger, but they actually have the same reach.
GSP is a special king of talent. Usually, when a special kind of talent moves up, he just tears apart people from the higher division. Just look at what Gastelum did to Kennedy. Or what RDA did to Neil Magny. But GSP is an even more special athelete than both of those guys. And i think Bisping is over rated. We're talking about one of the best champion ever, fightning someone who shouldn't be champion.
GSP is a very calculated guy. He isn't a Conor type of person who takes random fights he can't win. He never accepted fightning Silva. If he took this fight, GSP himself thinks he is a favorite to win it, i'm sure of that.
If this was a pure boxing match, i would clearly give the edge to Bisping. If this was a pure grappling match, i think Bisping could stuff GSP's take downs. But GSP isn't a one trick pony like Maia. He is dangerous both on the feets AND with his take downs. His timing is genius. I think this will be the key to GSP's victory. Be threatening on the feets, and come up with take downs out of nowhere to secure rounds.
The last times Bisping fought good wrestlers, it was Kennedy and Sonnen. Both of them beat him. And GSP is way better than those fighters.
GSP has a big home town advantage. GSP is huge in canada.
Reasons to bet Bisping
Ring rust is a thing. GSP claims he is better than ever, but i think you can never ignore a 4 years ring rust.
Bisping probably has more power than what GSP is used to, and GSP has been KOed before.
In theory, this is a good stylistic matchup for bisping.
