There are still judges to save my bet :D

Well, I was wrong about every aspect of this fight:
-Canelo faster, more skilled, more power
-GGG better cardio, fought smarter
-Canelo fought awful moving backwards, great moving forwards

Have it 114-114 draw. Think Canelo fought like a complete idiot rounds 4-9.

LOOL, as the fight was ending, I'm like yeah, Canelo lost, but it's vegas, you never know, and then the draw lol, what fight was the judge watching at 118-110????

Daut    United States. Sep 17 2017 05:04. Posts 8955

I had GGG winning rounds 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11. I think rounds 9/10 were close, but also think round 1 was close. I could see anything from 115-113 Canelo to 116-112 GGG being ok.

Fuck...

I didn't realize the fight started at 8pm. That's way earlier than all other elite boxing fights these days.

I missed the fight, so I'll have to catch the replay next Saturday on HBO. I was busy watching UFC, which is still on.

i thought ggg won and celebrated, didn't see it was a draw lmao
im not really upset about the draw, a retarded/corrupt judge couldve easily gave it to Canelo
he's turning into FLoyd with like 15% more aggression

Rigged boxing.

GGG clearly won that. He was pressuring the whole time, while landing more shots and controlling the fight with his jab.

Canelo did well, he had his moments and showed great defense, chin and some nice combinations. Ultimately he was inactive for big portions of the fight. Even in the rounds that he had more success it was 20-30 sec flurries and then laying on the ropes for the rest of the round doing nothing.

118-110 is disgusting.

What a fucking joke, I would have scored it 115-113 GGG. Like how can someone score it so absurdly but be a top boxing judge? Wtf? Apparently this is common in boxing?

guys betting on GGG are also forgetting judges will very likely lean towards Canelo in general, so he probably would lose a close fight

told you guys 8)

It could've been way worse. If Canelo won, the whole "he landed cleaner shots" argument could be used as well. It says a lot when they're focusing on the 110-118 thing when clearly if they scored it 110-111 for Canelo there wouldnt be much buzz about controversies today. Boxing rules for judging and scoring is starting to get exploited by smarter fighters nowadays since Floyd realized that making people miss and countering appears more impressive to judges than controlling the ring/fight

the problem is not how boxing rounds are scored or people exploiting them, the problem is obvious corruption and the athletic's comission lack of action on repeated offenders like byrd and pope

I was there for Canelo vs Lara, and we left in the 11th round to avoid getting stuck in the crowd cuz the fight was pretty boring and it was very clear that Lara won at least 8 rounds at that point (I personally thought it was 9-2 for Lara when we left). When someone told me after that Canelo won, I assumed he KO'd Lara in the 12th. Didn't see it was a decision til the next day and my head exploded.

De La Hoya must be paying those judges well.

hm after reading some online it seems that like 90% of people think GGG won by at least a small margin

maybe I should start considering considering the possibility that I had it wrong :D

nah man, one could say canelo landed cleaner and had more snazzy combos. some judges who are not super technical about boxing could've scored it for canelo even. like i said, since floyd made it so that opponents looking silly after missing shots counted for something i think it kind of redefined what winning a boxing match is all about, before it was all about who came to fight now its just weird how being elusive is like some credit in close, even non-eventful matches. ggg's power was overestimated and canelos chin underestimated. i bet on ggg too

It was a draw, if I had to give it to someone I would give it to Canelo.
