- Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos was expected to face Francis Ngannou, but on August 18 it was announced that he was pulled from the card after being notified by USADA of a potential doping violation. He was flagged after an out-of-competition drug test conducted August 10. Dos Santos tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide and his team is currently working on testing 2 supplements as a possible source for it. In turn, Ngannou was removed from the card after promotion officials deemed that a suitable opponent could not be arranged.

----------
First impression of the match-ups:
• Johnson > Borg
• Nunes > Shevchenko
• RDA > Magny
• Pedro > Latifi
• Stephens > Melendez
• McMann > Vieira
• Cejudo > Reis
• Smith > Moras
• Tucker > Glenn
• Clarke > White
• Henrique vs. Bhullar (dunno)
• Martins > Johnson
They should just do Magny vs RDA and call it a night
Dude you some social darwinist ideas that they are giving hitlers ghost a boner - Baal

Never seen Viera fight. What's the take on her and why is McMann only a 2:1 favorite? Seems like McMann is just too physically strong and stomps any non elite 135'er woman
Think I want to parlay Cejudo with McMann
Going to be small on RDA and larger for Pedro and Valentina

Just watched weigh in. Comical height difference between Magny and RDA. RDA filled into 170 nicely for his frame though. Looks bulked up but not unnecessarily

Amanda Nunes (135) vs. Valentina Shevchenko (133.5)
Neil Magny (169.5) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (170)
Ilir Latifi (205.5) vs. Tyson Pedro (205.5)
Jeremy Stephens (146) vs. Gilbert Melendez (146)
Henry Cejudo (125.5) vs. Wilson Reis (125)
Sara McMann (135.5) vs. Ketlen Vieira (136)
Sarah Moras (135) vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith (135.5)
Gavin Tucker (145.5) vs. Rick Glenn (145.5)
Mitch Clarke (155.5) vs. Alex White (155.5)
Luis Henrique (244.5) vs. Arjan Bhullar (239)
Kajan Johnson (155) vs. Adriano Martins (156)
Demetrious Johnson vs. Ray Borg is off due to Ray Borg feeling sick during fight week and pulling out of the fight. It was most likely due to a shitty weight cut, which is normal for Borg...
I don't think he was in the position of refusing anything after refusing a supermatch

It came out that they didn't even go to offer him a replacement
Probably a combination of both rematches being recent and one sided so impossible to market and them knowing DJ is meticulous so highly unlikely he accepts a last minute replacement

DJ. vs. TJ isn't a superfight/supermatch.
TJ doesn't have a belt, he isn't a super famous fighter who sells a lot of pay-per-views, and he could've easily missed weight and ruined the entire title defense opportunity for DJ. If TJ missed weight, he would've still wanted to fight DJ for no title, which would've made DJ look like the bad guy for not wanting to fight, even thought it would make sense to not fight at that point since the goal is to break the record with his next title defense, not just win a fight.

Idk why he's refusing super matchs. He should take example in Conor that actually shows he has balls. Sure, Conor fails sometimes but fans love him.
This card is really awfull for a PPV imo. Only fight that moves my needle is RDA vs Magny
james9994: make note dont play against floofy, ;(

That was baffling. That TJ would possibly miss weight as a reason isnt a strong enough reason considering they went with a Borg who no1 knows and who has gone ahead and actually missed weight 3 times. TJ isn't super famous but he's definitely not just a nobody in the public eye and I think enough people would've realized there's finally a real threat to DJ thus creating at least some sort of public interest and tension in a fight of his. Something he complains about ('need more $$$') and something that's been missing in pretty much all his fights. I enjoy watching Dj but the reality is that most people don't and as long as he keeps being stubborn about just beating up 125ers that no1 but hardcore fans know, nothing will change for him no matter how many records he breaks

I almost think this card was set up to fail because Dana White was irritated with DJ not accepting the TJ fight("see how many ppvs you sell" and with Nunes for pulling out. Put them both together and almost like an I told you so when the card fails on the market. Pretty conspiracy theoryish but I wouldn't put it past Dana. And honestly, I can almost agree with the notion

While Borg has missed weight multiple times, he is still a 125er who has made the weight before and has several fight in this weight class. TJ has never fought at 125, and doesn't look like he has much extra weight to cut when he makes weight at 135.
While TJ vs. DJ would be a fun fight, you'd just be hoping TJ could cut 10 extra pounds to fight for the belt, which is something he has never done it before in his entire MMA career.
Hm, I thought he was also offered the Garbrandt fight upon him returning from injury, but I'm mistaken. That would've been a cool fight.
Anyways DJ wants to get paid because he s good at what he does, he completely disregards the public's interest which is obviously a terrible mindset when you're a professional entertainer. He s the exact opposite of McGregor when you think about it. His request of receiving the purse, if TJ misses weight was absolutely fine though, imo.
Got an offtopic question - what happens to Whittaker? He has to wait a year before GSP & Bisping happens and then the winner taking a few months break only to unify the belt or what? Or are they just gonna have the division run with 2 belts with a defence of the interim belt as well? Super weird.
