Yeah the cannon cheese vs extractor glitch, the micro sequence on those were ridiculous. Small battles like that can suprisingly end a game which is why BroodWar's meta nuances are unmatched in any video game rts. Beautiful thing about it is, it's a bunch of glitches turned into strategy by the people who play them at an insanely high level.

All zergs were out with only jaedong and hero left in the ro32. Thankfully they both advanced. Jaedong got a very faborable draw from 16 on too. Best group for him and also on the easier side of the bracket by. Realistic chance of finalling

I thought soulkey was going to do well his lategame/defiler was looking better than anyone (including effort pretty often) in fpvods. Disappointing he went out in that sunken d game. Wish zero had played too but o well.

I wouldnt expect jae to get as close to finals but his best terran opponent till he gets there is mind. Light almost surely gets eliminated in grp1 by the 3 toss. So jae has mostly pvz to focus on. This map pool is good for protoss though

yeah i agree people are sleeping on shuttle, i honestly think he's good enough to take this down. he played really well when he won the last tournament and often people get that champion's confidence going once they've tasted even one title. that intangible is really what separates flash, bisu vs the rest. players like jangbi are a unique breed where they only step up during the deeper rounds.

Jaedong has only been recently practicing BW after a long hiatus and psych issues, and by that he's still pretty shit compared to his Bonjwa status of old. Big question is if he ever gets back to true form. He still looks clunky the last games I've seen him in, minor errors all over and even when he does the death stare it doesnt seem to translate in a crucial game. It's also good to note that before Jaedong "retired" his winrate in big tourneys was plummeting already, making build order mistakes like uber greedy builds, dying to cheese constantly and not really adapting.

Stork's PvZ is pretty strong against a weakened Jaedong I guess. Stork is like that guy who can beat anyone at any time if he's on, but can't really be taken as a serious threat to the top 5, all this praise for him is based on his PAST accolades, much like how in the past Boxer games would garner tons of viewership only to see him get rekt by some new, up-and-comer. Was never a fan of his - he was the guy you had to beat convincingly before you challenged the greats e,g. Jaedong, Bisu, Flash, Fantasy, Jangbi, Effort

I would not underestimate Stork. He's been on top for years with amazing results, I'm not even sure if we can say Bisu has been better than him in the long run. On the other hand pvz is probably his worst match. Also Jaedong has been doing many mistakes he would definitely not do if he was in his prime. I think their match might be super close, but I would slightly favor Stork this time.

Jaedong and Stork are both rusty af, maybe in ASL 3 they do better but FLash has got this on a lock and Bisu can easily beat people in his bracket.

I missed the first 2 games only saw the 3rd. And he didnt play great while Sea was on point, scouted the fortunate direction, and did what he had to do. Tilty 12 nex tho imo

Silly blunder allowing vults into main in game 1, game 2 goes dt even after his fast citadel gets scouted, doesn't accomplish anything, ends up having a late 3rd and had too small of an army vs sea

TBH if we are going to entertain this idea (and I have lol), in my mind it's not for some shady gambling deal going on Savior-style, but rather that Sea/Bisu are neox teammates now, old mbc teammates, and old friends.

Bisu just became a partner BJ for afreeca meaning he's going to be swimming in money (not like he isn't already), and this tourney means nothing monetarily unless you get first (it's super top heavy), Bisu makes more than the 1st place prize in a month on afreeca. It'd mean a lot more for Sea to advance/win as he can get more fans to his stream, vastly improving his income.

Just rewatched that drone drill (g3 outside bisu's natural) which caused all the probes to just dance around and do nothing, gg right there. Unacceptable

I agree guys, this afreeca stream monies are making tourney winnings look like chump change. Last I checked FLash makes more than 36k USD a month on streams which is like more than twice the 1st place prize of any "big" recent tourney SSL or ASL. But of course they need to keep crushing tourneys if they wanna keep popularity up but since no new gosus from out of nowhere are propping up I don't see the sense of urgency to keep polishing your "brand" by tourney wins. It's weird since Flash also got 3-0d by Sea as well in the last ASL or SSL which really makes me suspect there might be some bullshit lol

^^ It's really tough getting new talent in, usually takes years to realize new talent before they peak and dominate. From what I see it's still the same faces haha. Jangbi and Fantasy are sorely missed. Bisu is just way too unreliable, he plays Flash really well and gets raped by SEA lol

Bisu never had a pvt playstyle that goes well with lategame. He generally refuses to use storms and carriers which are two of the most powerful tools for a protoss in that matchup. He's always been like this. I can understand not using carriers, but storms are simply too good.

Sik game shuttle > flash on cb the other day. Very lategame and very close with near max upgrades. Shuttle wins with storms and carriers. Especially late when minerals are near gone u gotta make high templar. Storms won the game.

Yeah but last's winrate is like .06 % behind Flash in streams, the guy's legitstomping errythang as well. SEA has his moments but the way Bisu lost was really surprising, and it's not like he got cheesed nonstop, usually he does the semi-cheesing if any and has a very solid medium term transition, he's actually the best I've seen at it.

Terrans are just annihilating Zergs lately, Flash kinda showed the blueprint on how. The mech transition mid-game vs Z as an idea was ridiculous then Flash kept showing how it was viable and kept destroying Zergs which kinda shows how Zergs need to lean less on defiler tech all the time
Zergs gameplan at this level seems more like, "get to lurkers then defilers, dont die in the first 8 mins"

the flash line was never really that cheap from the start. it seems they arent taking anymore bets. usually they also have a handicap an hour or so before the match.

yea the vods freezing up and this time the sound is out of sync is really annoying. i played the kor version on mute while playing the eng one in the background.

Yeah I re-watched the last one and sound is whack. Hopefully they fix the lag too later if they expect BW to make some sort of revival. Replaced with a new link uploaded just an hour ago from Afreeca Channel, this is probably the better one.

Actually 3 hatch before pool virtually always beats bbs; it is a very good open vs bbs. The top guys tested it out just recently. Sure you lose the nat bit you still have 2 hatches pumping lings which is enough.

For a while it was BW and CounterStrike but CS:GO finished the original CS scene afaik.

Yeah and to think it didn't completelydie out even, the scene just become super small but there were still SSLs and loads of really small tourneys. It's just sad Blizzard is using it as a promotional tool to get crowds for their other games, right now in Korea they just use it to not embarrass their SC2 events lol

Thank you. Some of these Flash VODs are impressive stuff. The macro is ridiculous. I don't know how he does it so well. Just a lot of practice I guess.

He's really tough to beat in this tourney, on top of his insane medium to long game, he has rush builds that he uses like 15% of the time which are unbelievably timed to wreck any non-top5 guy in the league. The only people I think that can beat him are still out, Fantasy (not because he is better, but it is TvT which is coinflippy) and Jangbi (He takes the fight to Flash and brings it every big game, I even feel Flash is "scared" when they play)

Zergs now are still trying to figure out how to beat Flash in long games because Hive is no longer the safe space for Zerg since Flash proved that a bio-mech transition is a viable build.

I'm going with Best vs Sea. = I can see BEST sweeping SEA
Obviously Flash vs Jaedong = but it can't be a sweep, more like 3-1 for Flash
Feel bad for Jaedong straight to the woodchipper in his comeback, but he'll definitely be far stronger in the next ASL for sure, I can see the fire in his eyes already hehe
