Mainstream media is cancer for your brain

1. Mainstream media photo from Hillary speech somewhere where few people attended.

2. Swedish media commenting after terrorist attack. Apparantly it was "the truck" that killed people. Not islamic terror or islamist terrorist.

These are pretty much all nothings which is why you couldn't come up with anything off the top of your head. Lying about flag pins or not having the exact odds that lightning strikes, or paraphrasing something Clinton said. A lot of it is just differing economic opinions on complicated subjects like the first one "Preventive care … saves money, for families, for businesses, for government, for everybody." This is overstating conventional wisdom at worst.

When all the shitty media were saying as a fact that Russia in fact hacked the DNC and collabored with Wikileaks the president didnt confirm it... he is too smart to put himself in a tricky spot so he said "Russia is trying to influence the election", now that doesnt say shit, he didnt say hacks, he didnt say in favour of Trump, and the media simply used it to confirm it and even imply that Russians might have directly hacked voting machines.

No idea what your talking about here. Like the "shitty" media (as in all the media) just completely made up a story about Russia hacking the DNC out of the blue, and Obama knew it was false but went with it anyway without committing since he's such a savvy lawyer? Obama was playing it safe in case the media's lies would finally be revealed and he wouldn't look so bad? A president leaving office after the election?

Amazing that you would call attention to this issue when even Trump has finally caved and admitted it "was probably the Russians". You're a holdout I assume?

But do you want big lies? How about swearing to protect whistleblowers and then going after them, Manning, Snowden, Assange?

As a dem who's actually pro all those people I'll admit that's a con on Obama's administration. Still your timing in making this point is incredibly bad as Obama just commuted Manning's sentence to the outrage of the right. Meanwhile Trump has called for Snowden's execution.

How about saying he would close Guantanamo bay and not doing shit about it?

He tried to close it, he reduced prisoner count, meanwhile Trump is adamant about keeping it open and "loading it up".

I mean I don't want to defend Obama on the NSA or drone strikes, that shit is abhorrent, but by every indication Trump is/will be much worse. I mean if your goal is simply to stick your middle up at everything we're just going to be here for a while.

You do not understand Baal imo.

He s not defending Trump. He simply points out that the system is corrupt and it does not matter if its Trump or Obama.

And even if he s defending Trump, it still makes much more sense as Obama has results we could comment on while what Trump has done so far is a notice for withdraw from TTIP which is great for everyone and renegotiation of NAFTA, which I have no info whatsoever about.

In sense of military interventions and geopolitical control by force, Trump is showing much more promise than Obama has shown results. The image of him being a lunatic that cant wait to use his nukes is done by the mainstream media and is completely absurd as the guy has been against any war the US has been involved in since WW2.

The thing is people voted for a change of the political environment while they got exactly the same with Wallstreet chiefs taking charge in office, which would've happened with Clinton as well. And those same people are fighting the republicans vs democrats war and completely ignoring the main problem. The two movements have evolved so much it doesn't even matter that much on 99% of the topics anymore, its just a false information that people are being fed on dumb issues that dont even matter.

I still wont forget how Obama vs Romney had Pro and Against gay marriage as a main topic in their campaigns, fucking hilarious. Obviously Clinton vs Trump was a cirque all the way.

Anyways its quite groundless to state what you stated based on his words, but be pro Obama, when he s done tons of shit as well. The only difference is he knows how to speak well. Again obviously thats a quality that a president should 100% posses, but it seems that the american people are dumb enough to vote for someone with a vocabulary of 300 words. Either way whats done is done, I really see no point in the protests, best case scenario he gets impeached and you are going to basically be in a political crisis for 4 years as i doubt you are gonna impeach 2 people or make them resign from the most influencial post in the world. Maybe change the tone and reevaluate the purposes then protest for something meaningful

I'm enjoying watching memes become reality and bring about the destruction of the age of kali yuga its amusing and very comfy hopefully Trump nukes it all. To baal explain how someone 'not very bright' gets a degree from wharton and becomes a billionaire what a luckbox.

baal is correct if you consider someone either a liar or not a liar. Then Obama is a liar, the same as Trump. Pretty much everyone lies at some point, and professional and succsesful politicians have to lie at some points, more frequently than other people, to get to where they are at. I think stuff like closing guantanamo isn't necessarily a lie though - he might have just been wrong about what he was able to do, but either way there's no doubt that Obama has at some point been less than 100% truthful when describing the consequences of a political action he recommended.

So technically he's a liar, no problem with that. But I do have a problem with defining Obama and Trump as 'equal liars'; Obama occasionally lies - but Trump is occasionally truthful.

It matters immensely. Trump is far worse on issues Baal seems to care about, like handling whisteblowers, Guantanamo, torture, drone strikes, government spying, military spending, nuclear weapons, etc..

What the F are you talking about! Trump specifically tweeted that we should increase our nuclear weapons production specifically after Putin made a similar comment. I mean its absolutely amazing that the media is constantly being accused of unfairly portraying Trump when all they've been doing, to a fault, over the last year is reporting on his tweets.

What about the point that you post a 4chan (obvious) photoshoped pic and still believe it comes from an "article" or "newspaper"?

Except that I mentioned a few examples from the top of my head after the link.

And Trump saying it was maybe the Russians doesnt mean shit, there is currently 0 evidence about it being Russians, and the one releasing the information Wikileaks have specifically said that the leak had nothing to do with Russia, and yeah exactly Obama used careful language to lie and not being exposed later on if the claims turned out to be false.

That is lying in a cunning way, not in a stupid childish way like "mexico will pay for the wall" when he knows damn well we wont.

Saying Trump also did X or Y is not a form or argument against my points, I am not a republican, I dont support Trump I think he is an idiot, but I also think Obama was awful, and Hillary would have been arguably worse than Trump in many areas like foreign policy to mention one.

So summing up, Obamas administration was terrible, Trumps campaign was terrible but I will judge him for his actions as president, Its not smart to judge politicians based on what they say on campaign, so I hope he does well, I dont have high hopes but Ill wait and see.

He knew the US citizens were being spied on by the NSA... yeah I guess Obama is technically a liar right? because that is way less tame than saying "crime rate is up" when its actually down and all the shit Trump has said in campaign.

Also he war far more violent than Bush administration while receiving a Nobel price and giving the false impression of being on the road to peace after promising to pull out from Iran... oh but he didn't lie, he never said he was peaceful... and he also pulled out some troops... so he wasn't being 100% truthful.

90% of the things Trump says are completely retarded and wont ever happen. What I want you to do is let things develop instead of jumping to conclusions cause someone said something.

That being said this is a quote from 5 days ago:

“Let’s see if we can make some good deals with Russia,” Trump said. “For one thing, I think nuclear weapons should be way down and reduced very substantially.”

I'm not saying you are lying, I do know he made such statement few months back. It just backs up my argument on him saying retarded shit all the time and you should wait and judge actions not words. Both Republicans AND Democrats believe nuke amounts should be reduced globally.

I think people misjudge him as he obviously DOES realize he has no fucking clue when it comes to geopolitical military topics and is trying to build a good team to support him.

I really don't get all the horrified people, he s a single man, yeah he does get to say the last word, but considering that outside of business he s mostly clueless he has a team of people for everything that weight heavily on any decision taken.

And what I meant by media portrayting him in that way is the massive amount of articles everywhere about " Trump now has the access to nuke codes " I've read the last few days.

I mostly care about foreign policy and economy in case you were wondering.

and It appears to me that Trump will do a better job and Obama or Hillary on those terms, the be fair.. a rabid honey badger would do a better job (which is probably what Mattis is in a good human costume).

Economy wise its complex and very early to say, Its great that he is dismantling universal healthcare on a country with alarming debt growing rate, the Tax cuts working out depends on a lot of things but I think anyone saying it will be great or a disaster in this stages of his presidency economy wise is a fool.

Socially wise obviously Trump is awful, shutting down planned parenthood and his stance on global warming are ridiculous, on the bright side he might halt the rise on the absurd PC police rise in campuses with measures like stop subsidizing colleges that have safe-spaces or ridiculous stuff like that.

Wow, holdout confirmed. Anyway, Obama was adamant about it being the Russians the entire time, from the reports given to him by the intelligence community, which is why he sanctioned them.

The increasing nuclear weapons tweet was Dec 22, so not really "a few months back", but yeah I'm amazed at how blatantly Trump continues to contradict himself. Really goes back to what I've said in one of my first posts in this thread that Trump is a giant ???????? when it comes to nuclear weapons.

okay which of his appointments aren't grossly inexperienced? it should be easier to answer if the list is so short

My honest impression is that Obama wanted to be non-interventionist, he wanted to abandon the idea of america being world police because it was exceptional, that he recognized that the US history of the past 50 years was anything but glorious, but that 'political realities' made him incapable of following through. I think he was, upon entering office, an idealist more than a realpolitikian. But he also inherited a huge mess - putting the blame on him for the US still being involved in Iraq and Afghanistan is disingenuous. And I think he made the realization - which might have been wrong - that the damage to the region would be bigger through the US withdrawing. And those conflicts have spilled over to other regions. Basically, I think Obama has tried to do damage control rather than imperialism, I think in practice there ends up being significant overlap, and I think he himself has not been happy about some of the things he thinks he has had to do. I don't think there's been much deliberate lying and deceit from his behalf.

Then I also think the expanded use of drones is pretty abhorrent, I think the nobel peace prize was a travesty, I think Snowden is a hero (my favorite Norwegian politician nominated him for the peace prize ) ,I don't want to defend policies that I'm very much in disagreement with. But I genuinely believe that in terms of character, Obama is unusually pure for a politician at his level (previous american president who had the same mindset would be Jimmy Carter).
