JJ would easily beat Rumble. Just as we suspected, AJ's ground game is still non-existent; the moment the fight hits the floor it is over. Jones has a proven great chin, a reach/cardio advantages, a clinch advantage, and a massive ground advantage. What is the point other than "Let's see if AJ can somehow land a big shot before he gets mauled by elbows and ultimately submitted".
That said, it will probably happen due to a lack of other challengers. The only other 205 pound fights that make for JJ are a DC rematch (DC fought him evenly for 3 rounds), a Weidman superfight, and a Gus rematch (just to silence people who think he lost the first fight). The Weidman fight will likely never happen, and Jones is still a ways away from moving up to heavyweight, so Rumble will work his way in there and lose horribly again.
Think Rockhold is <25% vs Weidman. CW better on the ground, better chin, better striker, and better wrestler. LR has some outs with his power and athletic ability (can maybe hit some funky shit in scrambles), but he is too hittable, outclassed in too many areas, and Weidman too durable/solid to lose often.
And I think DC would be a big favorite over Gustafsson. Kinda see it playing out very similar to how Hendricks vs Condit played out, except for the fact that AG is much worse off his back than CC, so there will be less submission attempts, and more just standing back up to get planted repeatedly. You guys were right about DC's control, it is loose, and he doesn't secure dominant positions well. There were many opportunities for him to either pass or take AJ's back last night and he missed all of them. But I think he just repeatedly takes down AG and lands way better shots on the ground than AG can land on the feet.

I think Gustaffson movement and reach can cause Cormier some trouble and his TD def is improved a lot as evident in his Jon Jones fight. I don't think you can compare the fight with Hendricks - Condit. Condit is alot better of his back but at the same time his TDD is alot worse than Gustaffson's.
Anyway I really hope we can see that fight because for me it is intriguing match up of styles. Ryan Bader is literally drawing dead against Cormier.

& agree with northsails when you take the reach advantage & movement of Gus things get different, also I think you guys underestimate his TDD, obviously DC s one of the best wrestlers if not the best the UFC has seen but so is Gus's defense

Um when he faced them they were #1 p4p in the world, or the #2 MW in the world, or Vitor coming off of the 3 most spectacular wins in the UFC. Making excuses cuz they were old is stupid.
Silva had the best year and a half of his entire career going into the Weidman fight, absolutely embarrassing Vitor, Chael in the 2nd fight, Okami and Bonnar.

Timing for renegotiation (for example AJ's first fight on his contract vs. Cormier's last) and different deals being structured differently (PPV points for headlining PPVs or fighting for the belt versus asking for money straight up).
