Wizard currently has 4 viable inferno endgame builds.

1.) Archon
2.) CM Meele
3.) Tornado/teleport Kiter
4.) Black Ice Blizzard

All are easily playable Mp6+ in Inferno

As Monk you have

1.) Cookie Cutter
2.) Nirvana Monk
3.) Tempest rusher

As Demonhunter:

1.)Echoing Blast meele
2.)Rapid fire build
3.)Whirlwind Strafe build

Barbarian

1.) WW
2.) Hota

only 2 builds but you have a good amount of choice in 1 of the 6 skills for both builds

So on Average you have 3 viable Builds for Inferno farming per char. Not that much different from D2



I agree that there is a problem with the Loot.
Since all chars and all builds across D3 need a lot of crit chance.
But then again.. all builds for D2 needed at least +8 to all skills from items to work in Hell players 4+


So now instead of +to all skills wee need +X to crit chance on almost every item

Ok, its not 1, its 3, still far away from what the game was designed to have (all combos from the skills and runes). And the skill system is good enough to allow many builds, its just the itemization, which prevents its (and chc, chd are good examples of this). Good thing is some day, loot xx.0 patch they'll realize it and they'll improve it (it will require better AH searching capabilities as well). I somewhere read they are adding a toughness stat (EHP equivalent), so they maybe have some nice plans (team pvp).

I really liked the D1 butcher, he would just keep coming at you and attack 2-3x a second. Bosses these days stand around for long lengths of time doing nothing, in d1 they would actually dominate you

I think it's more that if you create a game now, people will mass communicate about it online and optimise their strategies like a hive mind

D1 was more challenging because you were making your choices by yourself and not playing anywhere near optimal

reading people's advice on the internet kind of kills games for me, I'm sure D1 would be the worst game ever if they did that back then because there would be absolutely nothing to it, D3 is probably a 20x more difficult in a vacuum

Agreed, I think the butcher was simply the scariest monster in the entire Diablo franchise.

for some retarded reasons, Blizzard has gotten the idea that players do not like competition. For this reason, they won't give u ur real rank in starcraft 2. like ur 300 987 out of 400000 people. And for this reason, diablo 3 has no ladders, no pvp, and not any kind of competition.

Of course, this made diablo 3 utterly boring.

i've seen a game called wartune, this game had shitty graphics, shitty battle system, shitty concept, nothing compared to diablo 3. But the creaters fucking made competitions everywhere. u could compete for who gets furthest in the crypt, for who had strongest clan, for who had most clan members, for who had most xp, for who was best dueler, for who could inflict most damage to world boss, etccccc. There was so many leaderboards and way to compete this game was seriously like crack, even thought in reality it was was a pretty shitty game. they even had huge clan wars of like 50 vs 50 people with a bunch of 4v4 battles in it, which meant it wasnt always the clan with the strongest player that won. You could really feel some intense "clan belonging feeling", the stuff you did made sense. You weren't just running over n over to get better gear, just so you can run faster to get even better gear! In that game, if you could get the best gear, then u were like worshipped by the whole game, and u even had some sort of special system message everyone got when u logged in. Now those creators understood how to hook gamers to a game

If Diablo 3 just put 10% of the ideas wartune creators had on how to make a game competitive and interesting it would have rocked.
