Second season of Game of Thrones is coming soon to HBO, first episode will be aired in less then a month, April 1st.
They already released a trailer, and damn, it looks promising:

I was sad when Boromir died in the first season, but the show is good and will continue to keep getting better, I cant wait for it to start~
Also airing on April 1st is "The Killing", season 2. It's one of the new shows on AMC that is good. AMC channel randomly starting coming out with good shows last year.

Except Breaking Bad has been on there for like 3 or 4 years and that's the best show on TV. I'm not a Mad Men fan but that's also been on AMC for awhile. Where you been!?!?!

even when the characters do 180 in the personality department, you can see where it is coming from even though martin doesnt focus on it or makes any segways per se.
I dunno why i spoiler that lol, characters are not always what they appear to be, duh!

in books i dont think it ever was blatantly stated that they had a relationship, or that renly was gay. it was more of an innuendo kind of thing. i am not even sure that i woulda known that they were gay had i not watch the movie first.
In my position it seems like its a good idea(since i've read the books, and this makes the movie slightly different from the books), but i wonder what would your thoughts be had you read the books before watching season 1.

to shamefully bump it in excitement- book spoiler to follow + Show Spoiler +
man the one character i really can't wait for is Ramsay. It would be so tough to find the right actor for the role. I've seen people suggest Cillian Murphy and i'd be ecstatic if that was the case. Cillian might not exactly fit Ramsays persona entirely but what a great actor he is, one, i think, who has the ability to pull off the quirkier parts of the character extremely well

This, and the scene of Stannis at dragonstone, was changed a little bit. Also i dont get how Stannis (and everyone else) find out that Joffrey is a bastard, afaik the men that was going to give the letter to stannis was killed on book 1, i guess somebody else talked, like Littlefinger or Varys,

HBO GO is part of the HBO website you can go to, to watch all of the various interviews and sneak peaks for upcoming shows, but you need to login with your HBO account. Sky tv had a after show program called ThroneCast, but they blocked it on their website after season 1 was over to people outside the UK and Ireland.
LEAVE ROS ALONE!!! FUCK U LITTLEFINGER hahaha
btw, does Theon grejoy has that scene with his sister in the book? i remember reading when he arrived, but i think his sister was not on the island and that scene on the horse didn't really happen, lol more incest.

“We’re a little bit worried about the Osha/Asha sounding too close together,” Benioff told Access Hollywood. “So it might be a slightly different name.”
The name being thrown around in rumors was "Yara"

I agree that having read the books kills most of the suspense, but its still such a well made show with great actors that I still rate it no1 going right now. And the books are so so good that i dont regret for a minute choosing to read them before watching the show.

If you have actually read the books then you should remember that book 2 opens up slowly for the first 200ish pages and then starts to get awesome. You gotta give the show some time.. the books are huge and there is a ton of plot development that must take place before the action begins.
Even though nothing super important happened, the episode still met my expectations to be honest, I don't care about drama as long as it is well made and have common sense in it, unlike TWD

I think they only let you see 1 episode per season, 1 week in advance on HBO-Go, but I'm not 100% sure.
I think it's to get people accustomed to watching shows on-the-go, since everything is being shifted to the internet these days.
If you could watch all the episodes 1 week in advance, it would take a lot of viewers away from the "live" showing they do every Sunday.

why people try to find sense or realistic things in stories like this? is FANTASY, if George Marting wants a hot redhead give brith to a fucking shadow, he can do it, if you dont like it then go to make your own fucking story.

Why so hard to grasp that this is a world filled with magic, that has been mostly resting for thousands and thousands of years but still exist. They are definitely not overdoing it, it's 90% about humans and their relationships and actions, and you will find out the purpose of the shadow later on.

Glad I wasn't the only one who had a problem with the witch queefing out a shadow man. Hopefully the show doesn't turn to shit.
As it was mentioned before, I have absolutely no problem with the fantasy involved in the story, why scream about a lady, who was supposed to be like a witch since it was presented to the viewers when doing a ritual in the fire and if I remember correctly, she even drank poison and didn't die, cause she gave birth to a shadow monster?
If you haven't read the books why panic if you don't even know wtf is that? and If you have read the books and still cry for this then gtfo

It's a fantasy story that is mostly realism with some fantasy. If you have an issue with that you may as well stop watching, yes.

Bingo. That was an awesome episode. I don't get how people arbitrarily think some fantasy is ok but other stuff is not. The episode was pretty sweet overall.

i don't understand how people can hate the end of episode 4. Do people just hate fantasy for some reason?
One of 3 non decent human beings on a site of 5 people with between 2-3 decent human beings
it's not 'hate' it's just a meh ending when you didn't read the books,
so far the story flirts with magic/paranormal stuff and it's great this way, I think it's one of the things most people loved about this show, the fact that magic and fantasy exists in a reality world that feels very real/possible. Now they bring a shadow baby out of no where, if you've read the book, ok, you know what/why/when this was coming, but if you haven't read the book, you were very happy with the fact there was little magic + dragons + weird undead dudes.

how can you be unhappy about something you don't even understand yet? (in reference to those who you claim haven't read thebook are mad about this) fuck some people are really pesimistic

I'll still watch the show, the random shadow guy caught me off guard, especially when I was expecting the onion lord to get it on with the witch.

I mean, this shadow demon is really the only instance of "magic" I remember in the five books I've read. So people can relax now that it's over :O.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same
I still love the show but I think they're kind of smutting it up a bit too much... they're cutting out so many story scenes and replacing them with sex scenes. Not a terrible thing but it feels a little cheap and oversexed! Also don't like the casting for Loras! Margery is a great choice though, so is renly, stannis, and I think I like lady brienne, even though I'd pictured her uglier and brunette.

Ya i can see why people would think that the show might be "reaching" for story by using something like this, but really magic is used pretty subtly throughout the series. This isn't prison break where the writers are like like "oooh fuck they're out of prison and we need 4 more seasons.. we never planned for this!! I know, lets get them to go back to prison!!"
Interesting though that they're mixing the boat shadow delivery in now when in the books it was supposed to come later. I wonder how they'll account for the people who see the shadow. I guess it will just take place in the castle instead of in the field, and they'll ignore what actually happens in the castle later.

Trying not to spoil much, even in spoiler, but there are 2 more red priests, they work some pretty magical stuff, not to mention what's going on in the north and maybe some other stuff with the faceless folk, if you count that as magic
On a non-spoiler note, but relating to the books, it seems like they "summarized" Arya's storyline pretty hard, and I really don't get some of the choices, they add the gay thing and a bunch of whore scenes but they don't show on season 1 the Thoros + Beric part (at least I don't remember it), which would take like 30 seconds and would explain future events... Unless they really change the whole thing.
Tyrion is pretty good on the show tho, makes up for a lot, Dinklage deserves more Golden Globes.

Every actor seems to be right on, except littlefinger. He doesn't come off as the extremely intelligent boss that he is supposed to be. Not sure if it's the writing or the actor. Loved the actor in The Wire though ;x

I'm leaning towards the writing some of these extra scenes of his they are adding in just seem so out of character, like his bragging and semi-threatening towards the queen was just downright stupid for a character that's supposed to be so great at manipulating people and even more so since it was Cersei who is probably the most easily manipulated character in the series.

Nah, i'll just stick to my weekly dose of air bud marathons thankyouverymuch.
Was I the only one who thought for a moment that what had just happened was completely different than what did?
The fat, rich, black man had just said:
"I have done many things Khaleesi, that a righteous man would condemn; and here I am, with no regrets"
And cue the gates being opened and the Khaleesi's people shown slaughtered, her running away (seemingly from him),
and him commanding that the gates be barred and bells rung?
Majorly fuck-withed there for a moment.

Yeah I believe in the books he just lets her run off and then rejoins the group almost immediately. They seem to be trying to really build the relationship. Similar to what they are doing with Robb Stark.

It's making it very confusing to see how the show is possibly going to get back on track or will they also change very massive events too rather than just the small details they were doing til now

It will be hard to explain what i mean completely without spoilers, but if you have no intention of reading the books yourself I will try to explain what i mean without any MAJOR spoilers.
Jaime is becoming one of my favourite characters in the books, he's a very complex person and not at all the pure bad guy that he is portraited as in both the books and show in 1 and 2. In the books he doesnt kill Cleos (his relative), and he doesnt kill the guard either he kills Karstarks sons in fair battle in the Whispering Woods. When hes now in the show with cold blood uses a rock to kill his own kin it takes away a lot of the honor in him that he actually has and i feel sad about it since as i already states Jaime is one of the best characters in the books with a ton of developing and kin-slaying for such a simple reason as wanting to escape himself thats just not him.
Theres also a ton of other, so far small, changes from the books. So far I didnt really have a huge problem with them but they are becoming to numerous to fast now, this show had two major. Jaime and the escape of Bran.

Also in the books Xaro Xhoan Daxos isn't trying to become king of Qarth and so on.
Not sure if im too happy with the changes, some are fine and even work better for tv, but some of them just seem like they'll require even more serious alterings later on in the show.
Even considering that im still enjoying the show very much.

Did him and Cercsi have Jamie in the first books too? And did he also push Bran out of the tower in the books? If he did he seems like a fairly evil/fucked up guy.

The idea in the books is that he is a super complex individual. He did push Bran out of the tower, and that is definitely somewhat evil. However, he is in love with his sister, and letting Bran get away gets them both killed without a doubt. A lot of good men would kill to save their own life and their beloved one, which adds to the complexity of Jaimes character. Murdering his nephew like this is completely out of character for the way the books describe Jaime.

I think the only reason they did this was to better justify + Show Spoiler +
that the stark mom decides to release him next episode? I mean releasing the biggest hostage they had was a somewhat bold and stupid move in the books, but the way it goes in the show they make it seem like Jaime will die unavoidably if she doesn't do something, which would mean the end of her daughters. Not too crazy about this plot device as well, because the side effect of presenting Jaime as ultra violent and unnecessarily ruthless is really messing with the epicness of the character =P
They also showed Cersei break down and bitch about Joffrey not being obedient in front of Tyrion which is completely out of character (+ she is the one that always encouraged him to be a prick)
I don't mind these differences too much though, there have been many other changes in the show that were really good
new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

SICK episode.
Did he get sliced across the face with the sword by the knight? Or, did he get his head sliced in half? At first I thought his head was sliced off, but, his skull never fell off like it did when the other guys got their heads chopped off.

At the end of Underworld 1, the main vampire got his head chopped in half with a diagonal slice. There was still some emotion in his face, I thought they might have slowed down the sequence and was showing a slow mo of him dying, to make it more epic.

I really liked how they made The Rains of Castamere
This version is pretty cool as well
I also want to hear them make:
A bear there was, a bear, a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair!
The bear! The bear!
Oh, come, they said, oh come to the fair!
The fair? Said he, but I'm a bear!
All black, and brown, and covered with hair!

I can't agree. Since the only thing this can be relative to is the first season; Tell me how this one was any slower than the first one?
Because there are so many characters, plots, and places to explore that I feel that none of the characters actually developed besides Tyrion. With a 10-episode order how much time can the producers really spend on each character? Even though I think HBO did a pretty good job with what they were given. Just imagine how much more satisfying each season would be if it was the standard 13 episodes.
P.S - I don't really remember in book two, but did Littlefinger have any spotlight in it? Felt like this nigga had two lines whole season and he's epic :O.

His character grows bigger towards book 4/5 if i remember correct, when he starts taking control of the Vale. It's not really untill then you understand how big his lust for power is.

I thought so too, but then I re did some thinking lol. Most shows that are good are way too short, like Californication is like 20 minutes, at least this show has close to an hour per viewing, and that's got to count for something xD
And like the last episode, special effects was like a really good high budget film xD
yay

Most HBO shows are 10 episodes, some are shorter. I want to say Sopranos and Sex n the City were more than 10 episodes per season, but, I didn't follow those shows that much. Sopranos got repetitive after season 3 or so.

^ HBO has 3 good shows. Game Of Thrones, True Blood, and Boardwalk Empire.
If you have free time to watch shows, then I'd say to dL the past episodes of Boardwalk Empire and catch up, but, True Blood is heading into its 5th season, so that would take more time to catch up on. Season 2 of TB was the worst so far, seasons 1/3/4 are good though.
Also, there's this good drama show called The Killing, on AMC. There's 3 episodes left in the second season. I'd recommend it.

season 2 of true blood was so incredibly bad i gave up on it lol. it sounds worth getting back into now though.
and the killing is awful. i keep watching it for some reason but hate it. i compare it to little kids playing that game where they keep asking "why?" over and over to every answer you give. and finally after enough answers you just say "BECAUSE". such an annoying show. ill watch til the end of season 2 then reevaluate if i want to continue, but i would never recommend anyone to start

yeah lots of tv shows have that kind of writing. Where the writers write a bunch of bullshit and put meangingless twists and mysteriousness in, to hook the viewer into the show without having to tell a real story.
Decent final ep to Game of thrones. White walkers ending was pretty average imo and i really wanted to see what arstan whitebeard would look like dammit!

I loved the first season of The Killing only because I was able to marathon it. Every episodes ended on a cliffhanger / red herring and since I had the next episode lined up I didn't really get annoyed.
But since I am watching season two as the episodes are released I started to get annoyed at how many red herrings were thrown out and more questions popped up with no resolution at all. But tonight's episode was pretty damn good.
That doesn't happen nearly yet, would be sort of weird if that was in this episode, and we already know what Arstan Whitebeard is going to look like + Show Spoiler + [MASSIVE spoiler]

I think it was the same reason that they didn't kill the guy in the first episode that ended up deserting the nights watch. He wasn't worth taking the time to kill because he was on the ground crying.

Yeah they really pose no threat and the white walkers presumably could not care less about their presence once they establish that.

true blood is terrible. It appears that women writers focusing on the vampire mythology has only gifted the world with the fruit of condensed faggotry. Then again I could be wrong and the original novels are excellent but somehow the show producers fucked everything up. I can't even begin to imagine how bad twilight must be (given the satiric reactions on the internets)

Why doesn't she get laid more often, and do the spread leg thingy. If they knew that midget would be formidable, anda few other. If she had fucked 4-5 more guys, and make shadowbabies to take out 5 key important people inside the city, that'd probably make a huge difference.

i can only say what happened in the books, it doesnt fit exacly with the show. In the book Stannis is not on the wall, hes on the battlefield, and when they see the battle is lost his closest lords and friends fight their way back to the shore/the ships waiting. In the book it was written that stannis men killed eachother to get the last free spots on the ships.
About Melissande and the shadow baby. In the books (and show i believe) Stannis doesnt bring her because he doesnt want his men to believe all his victories comes from her and not from his own skill in battle. Abandoning her is probably i bad choice, but about the shadowbaby i believe it takes her a lot of power to summon in, and she cant probably do it all the time. (the shadowbaby is actually stannis transformed into something, i think they even mention it in the show, he says "i killed my brother" and he means literary.

Pretty sure she has to be backed by her god to do perform these shenanigans, otherwise she would be pretty much the best assassin of all times.

Yea Game of thrones was great. I'm stoked for the next season.
I don't think True Blood is as bad as everyone says. While it's true that a bunch of storylines have been shit lately but if they could only get Eric back to being a bad ass I feel they can turn it around.
Except for the wire very few series can keep the quality up for more then 3-4 seasons anyway, and to be honest I feel that the last season of the wire is clearly the worst of the bunch despite being fairly decent.
Agreed with every Dusty's word about The Wire. That's the only show I have ever watched in full.
Heroes - made it to the beginning of 3rd season
Prison Break - same as Heroes
House - ended watching at season 2
Dexter - never hooked me up
HIMYM - watched some episodes, decent show
Not even going to mention the shitty ones like The Big Bang Theory and 2 And a Half Men.
Still haven't seen a bunch that are considered very good and I most likely won't, because I'm a movie guy. Maybe some day...
Game of Thrones is going the right way. Loved season 1, going to watch season 2 in a couple of days. I don't expect anything epic, but, after reading the comments here, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
