FTP opens to European players March
ull Tilt Poker will be up and running to European Players in March according to the investment company taking over the once great poker site. Also to confirm Laurent Tapie the Managing Director of Group Bernard Tapie (BGT), the French investment company his company are still very much on track to take over FTP, denying reports of an issue with Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson – who is a large Full Tilt shareholder -and was threatening to block the deal.
Tapie said: “This is totally false. “Chris Ferguson has no problem with regard to the completion of the takeover agreement, which is now imminent.
“Even if Chris Ferguson wanted to oppose it, he would not be able to...

oh yeah, i didn't think about that. then there wouldn't be any new deposits coming in then cos that would discourage players coming in.

I guess they will come up with some really sick promotions? They can't think players will just be happy they got their money back and continue to play there, can they?
BTW, Ferguson is not being charged? I thought his position was the same as Lederer's? |

sick promotions? that won't help. but dealt rake system would get the regular players to play there. |

you would think about differently if you had 6 - 7 figures trapped there. i don't have that much on there and i still feel the same as khan,
FTP the new UB. |

i would wait for a while before playing there regularly. after all the bashing ftp got from the media i don't think recreational players will be flocking to play there.
all you would be playing with are the same people who have money trapped on there. and the funny thing is you might not even have the ability to withdraw. so what's the use?

highly doubt even regs would keep a substantial amount on there: assume a dedicated regs' current trapped roll is 50k, I see him taking out 45k and leaving 5k to grind lower limits with and build up very slowly. the reason I think this is b/c the amount of stress/agony in seeing your funds trapped again after being tricked into trusting them isnt worth more than 10% of what you had there originally |

Well other than the fact that I do not plan on playing on FTP at all because of SNE, I don't think it's going to be a very bad idea to play there. They'll probably dish out some good rewards in the beginning to get their player pool back and there's a lot of people missing stuff like rush poker and the good software obviously.
I'm just going to cash out the $5300 I had on there when it's available and hope to get it back. |

It will actually be perfectly logical ev+ decission given what FTP will be offering to get its player base back. Or what, you think the new company undergoes all that shit just to scam FTP players again? |

They will be FTP, so they will have to offer huge bonuses and make a huge communication in order to make it works. This is a lot of investment for a potentially high ROI but with high risk and big delay.
If I were an investor, I would not invest in this. |

but they will not get their player base back. once people withdraw their money they'd be happy playing somewhere else where it's safe (stars *cough*).
it will take a year before ftp will get their no.2 spot. but without the US players that's doubtful. |

Not really true at all. Fish will continue to play where ever they can and bonuses will bring them in. Look at the entire history of UB. Scandal after scandal and fish still continue to play there and where there's fish you'll find regs ready to take their money.
I also think its somewhat of a stretch to assume that your money won't be safe at the new FTP. Doesn't make sense to me how everyone can say the current FTP team killed a money printing machine and then just assume that someone is going to invest all this time and money into a new FTP just to troll you and not give you your money back. |

It is a perfectly reasonable investment given the value of ftp pre-scandal and what they are paying now.
As a general note i'd like people to climb off their high horse and stop being (hypocrites?) critical of people who have something positive to say about future FTP under Tapies reign. |

Honestly this still seems like a great idea. Sure there's little or no money going out and little or no new deposits coming in, but why not let the degens that can't just resist seeing money sitting in their accounts get raked? As more people that Full Tilt owes go busto everyone's likelihood in being able to withdraw funds increases. |

LOL @ calling us hypocrites. that site stole from us. i can think of whatever i want of that site and its owners. so stfu and gtfo.
edit: and FTP under tapie's reign? they could use the site to launder money. FTP is a good medium for that kind of shady stuff. lolz

GBT Lawyer Says Matusow Owes $700k
Another twist in the Full Tilt takeover deal. Behn Dayanim has revealed to PokerUpdate the amount Team Full Tilt member Mike Matusow owes to the poker site, contradictory to the player's own claims.
Matusow had this to say about the matter on his Twitter page:
“for all my fans out there just to let u all know I don’t owe full tilt anything why my name is mentioned I don’t know”
It is a complete contradiction to what GBT’s attorney Behn Dayanim has stated to us in an earlier interview with PokerUpdate:
Dayanim: "Some of the players who owe larger amounts to Full Tilt Poker. Phil Ivey, Erick Lindgren, Layne Flack, David Benyamine, those are the larger ones. There are others as well, people like Barry Greenstein and Mike Matusow.”
Matusow’s finances have been a large talking point over the months. Scott Matusow, Mike’s brother, made a very personal blog on his own website back in November:
“when you decide to call Mom and Dad only WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING, then it becomes my...
|
the article ended in a tone that FTP probably won't go online this march.
| |
Considering that there are a number of other players who owe significantly more to Full Tilt with many of them unwilling to communicate with GBT, it seems the problem of the debts owed will be a hindrance for quite some time.
