cap river
too many times they have lower flush

dev   Canada. Jan 18 2006 04:12. Posts 215

there is no need to cap turn if u haven't hit ur flush. but u did, so in this case you would cap every street including the river there is no pair on board so u should feel confident to cap this. i would defently bet the river out of position becuase like above too many times they have the lower flush, str8s, sets etc.

but if you feel that he will only cap the turn with A high flush and u have an extremely good read on him then i'd just call it. but u can't afford not to bet the river there.

look for signs, no str8 flush, no pair on board, only hand can beat u is A high flush. if i dont have any read i'd cap or bet the river.

for river, i would bet out, and if they raise, call
or check, raise their bet, if they 3bet i just call

ignore every1
flat call the 2bet on turn

if river doesn't pair, bet out again

if raised, flat call again

i dont understand why you would just call the 2bet on the turn; only the As and another spade beat you, and isn't the point of limit to get in extra bets when you are ahead? Sure, you'll save money if he hits a boat, but the odds are in favor of you winning.

I think it's a friggen' SIN not to cap this on those limits. Maybe bet/call river if you don't feel uncomfortable. But as you'd hear from pretty much anyone (except asdf2000 who seems to be on weak tight mood), you should play king high flush pretty much as aggressively as you would play ace high flush. In limit, getting in those value bets for 1 or 2 more BB when you have the best hand makes all the difference in the world.

The other guy could be betting set/2 pair/lower flush here. All of them which I think are more likely than the A-high flush.

bet out river and call a raise

u dont 3bet that turn because

A.) an ice high flush from the guy acting directly after you would have flat called, so that guy could easily have the nut flush and 4bet after you 3bet.

B.) that flush is totally obvious. the majority of people won't 2bet that turn without a flush and prolly most of those people will have the nut flush when it was capped on the flop like that and 3 people are in the pot.

i am not in a weak tight mood, 10handed games are much, much different than 6handed or 3handed games.
suited aces are an incredibly common hand for people to say in fixed limit, much more so than in nl

flat calling the turn and then betting out on the river will get raised by almost any hand that would 4bet this turn. it also keeps "genghis" in the pot. this means that vs the majority of players you are going to prolly make between 1 less and 1 more bet with this style. not to mention you could maybe make even more if the ace of spades falls on the river, or save yourself money if the board gives someone a full house on the river.

you guys still think im wrong?
