did i play it too fast?

how many 2/4 NL or higher players smooth call flop reraise?

do you guys really get that much more out of AK by smooth calling? I figured any club would kill my action, and AK would be paying me off, but he claims he had AK and made a great laydown, and now i feel like like a fish

I think it's okay. There are both flush and straightdraws out there, so I would have reraised too.

also figured KQc is a possibility as im playing pretty LAG here, and i didnt want him to give him a free card because i would still have to call down if a club came, cuz its a small part of his range.

we were both 250+ BB deep too. should I ever not get stacked if he happens to have 88 or AA?

The clubs are annoying, but hardly likely. He's almost got to be holding an ace to call that pre-flop raise.

Playing KcQc out of position versus a 4x raise pre-flop would hurt him in the long run so if he's got any head on is shoulders he's got AK or JJ-AA

Here's the thing. Your opponent looks to be trying to take the pot right there, as to defend the value of top pair in his situation (if he truly had AK). However if you smooth call, he's going to be almost certain you've got AK or the set. He's likely to want to play it down cheaply either way so the correct play is probably to push, especially because his initial re-raise says he might be willing to overvalue top pair and push all his money in.

You stand to make a little bit more money by slowplaying but the question is how much more? and is it worth the added risk of always giving up those free draws?

daveano's the bigblind and its a 4x raise from utg+1, in 6max and BB KcQc calls that all day, especially how deepstacked they are...

if you can limit him to AK and JJ-AA from a simple flat call, you are psychic because daveano could be any pocket pair and AJ/AQ EASILY, and probably a much larger range of hands because both players are, as wired said, 250BB deep... it's ridiculous to put him on AK, AA-JJ, he could have 67s and heck, J8s probably has the implied to call here

i agree that its a little weird to checkraise so little with a draw, but it isn't that weird considering the stack sizes. if wired smooth calls the checkraise how can you say that daveano's "going to be almost certain" that wired has AK or the set? you make way too many assumptions on way too little information, i think you are basing your analysis too much on seeing wired's hole cards
