Does she offer any explanation of her own why she blames obama? Like what would happen if you challenged her opinion and made her use a little critical thinking skills?

she has no proper basis or idea of how the legislature or government in general operates, so it is impossible for her to think critically about things related to that. of course she thinks she does but does not. I learned this when I tried to explain to her what the Super Congress proposal was and I realized she thought congress was separate from the House and Senate.

I have a step grandmother who is also very right wing, which is weird cuz she will actually converse reasonably on the topics.. but you can tell that her views are colored strongly by a silent racism that seems to boil in every republican I've ever met. the rest of my family in montana is like that as well. for an instance of what I mean:

when I was there my family members were sharing a chain e-mail amongst themselves which proved how unpatriotic and what a secret muslim Obama is. This chain mail consisted of a series of 5-8 close up pictures of previous presidents giving speeches with an american flag in the background. The last picture was a slightly farther zoomed out picture of Obama giving a speech without an american flag in the background.

They would consider no challenge to their reasoning or critique of the presentation.. nor of the obvious fact that you can find plenty of pictures of Obama on stage with an american flag.

to them (these people all make good money as real estate sales ppl, roofers, or owners of similar type small businesses) this was incontrovertible evidence of Obama Kenyan-ness and anti-americanism. I can see no explanation for their thinking except for racism.. and I think people who don't think a large amount of the hate towards Obama is because of his race live in a fairytale world. Life is a disgusting bitch in reality.....

yeah I know, but what is currently relevant and driving this country into a hole are those supporting the repub leadership and those in office imo.

I reckon any voter who stays reasonably informed of current going ons, is moderately educated, and works to come at their views rationally can see that the republicans are the ones acting without the short and long term best interests of the avg joe and the country in mind.



(though in a vacuum I don't agree with quite a bit of the democrat's policies)
