My sister seriously fucks up my life in untold ways. I've gotta get out of this house.
So my only goals
1. Get myself into a position to get the fuck out of here asap without hindering my ability to grow my bankroll and move up.
2. Figure out where to go and what move is going to be best for me, whether that means I move somewhere within the same city, or to another place entirely (ie back to Vegas or somewhere I've never been perhaps). Being near a casino with good regular live games from 5/10+ would be really nice, but that can wait until next summer @ Vegas too.
I am quite sure that the situation here at home is completely unsolvable so I have to be the one to leave.
I would really like to shoot for gtfo'ing Jan. 1st, and if I move to a college town or within my own city (we have a big university), that would be a perfect time. Problem is I think Jan 1st may be too soon $ wise (NO time is too soon otherwise LOL).
I'm calculating my *mandatory basic expenses* if I move out (ie including rent) at just over $1k a month right now though. Totally do-able right this second but I'd rather not risk getting stuck grinding nl100 for life.
Quick rundown; $550 for rent+utilities, $200 car insurance, $200 grocery/food, $30 gym membership, $50 gas = ~$1k/month in expense. Reasonable?
Sigh, probably just day dreaming until atleast Feb. or March.

200$ for food isnt way too low
U just have to really concern yourself with what u eat.
u can easily spend 350$ a month on food getting the same quality u can get spending 200$ a month on food.
you just have to eat a lot of rice, nuddles , toast etc. from superstores and u can get nice stuff for low price
i moved out 3 month ago and spend like 600€ a month overall ( i live together with my GF though in a 70m2 3 rooms flat)
Just get a roomate to 1/2 the rent

Only place you are getting rent and utilities for 550 is Rwanda or Oregon from what I've heard.
If you're house sharing with people in vegas maybe you can consider something like 800. For an apartment though at least 1k.
unless you are super disciplined id say at least 1.5-2k

I do lol, doesn't fix everythin tho
I took a look on craigslist to get an idea of what rent is like in my area, there seem to be plenty of situations where with roomate(s) I can do ~$550/mo for my lodging+util/internet. So hopefully that won't be a problem when the time comes!

200 for car insurance? Did you run someone over drunk while speeding with no seat belt on the wrong side of the road in a stolen vehicle?
Gym memberships are retarded unless you are going to one to train a skill. If you wanna get in shape just go outside and do body exercises to gain strength. body exercises & some running are plenty to get you in great shape.
Unless of course you are scrawny and want to gain a good amount of muscle mass then by all means go to a gym to use all the weights. |

yep I'm totally scrawny atm and I need to build muscle mass ^^
car insurance is actually $187/month. And no my record is 100% clean I have no citations outside of parking tickets when I got this rate. I also have really barebones insurance. Dunno WTF, maybe I'll take another look around this week to see if I'm overpaying at this point. |
