The most retarded cash structures ever???
Played last night for a couple of hours after meeting up with an old work mate and asked about the structures. There was 80-100NL (i.e. min/max buyin) with $1/$2 blinds - nice 50 BB 
So how about the 200NL......blinds were $5/$5....40 blinds WTF!!!!
Both with 10% rake capped at $8 for the 100NL
So I was just killing time and sat at an 80/100 table only to find that there was also a table "time charge" of $5/hr. 
Do any of you Aussies bother with this?
The players sucked so i guess that compensated a bit - "I bet $15"...."OK - I'll see you"..... Had one guy call my river 3/4 pot bet with KQ high.

Yeah mate this is pretty standard at some of the big Casinos here in Aus.
Believe it or not the max buy-in for 1/2 at crown used to be $60 with a $5 time charge and 10% rake up to $5 (I think it was $5 can't remember). Oh and if you're sitting at a 2/3 table (200 BI) you're paying a $10 time charge per hour on top of a higher capped rake.
Playing any of the low BI games is just wait Push/Fold preflop, I think you get better odds at blackjack and there's no way to beat that rake/time charge.
If you want somewhere better check out Sky City at Adelaide if you're ever down. They still have the high rake (and won't lower it no matter how many people you're down to) but they spread a much better 1/2, 2/2. 2/4 but with much less tables and only on the weekend. Down here in victoria at crown im pretty certain it is 1/2 is 100$ max buyin with 15% rake upto 6$
2/3 is 200$ max buyin, 10% rake i think upto 15$ with a 5$/hr time charge.
Terrible.
Even the terrible virtual 'Pokerpro' tables take a rake :/
Im not 100% on the exact % of rake on the tables but it would be very close if wrong. |
