yeah, i switched from 6m to hu a while ago.
1) position is power. play much tighter out of position. play aggressive in position. a winning player should be raising the button at least 50% of the time.
2) understanding how HU works. 6m players playing HU tend to be too tight postflop. any pair, any draw, any overcards are reasons to not fold. there will also be a decent amount of floating and bluffing going on, as well as value betting (from you and opponent).
I suggest you drop down a limit or two and try HU there, for at least a few thousand hands. Understand how HU work, typical game flow situations, and acceptable preflop ranges vs different opponent types given effective stack sizes. Work on putting your opponents in tough positions (that is, allow them to make large mistakes).
