As far as I know, German university students in general know quite a bit about US politics, as do university students in other European countries as well. That, and it's not bad for an unbiased opinion to live outside the media influence. Naturally people following politics in the US know more, but don't underestimate the amount of thought people in Europe put into your politics. Even if you don't closely follow politics outside your continent, it doesn't mean other people don't do it

Naturally it means nothing as not many of those who participated in the poll can cast a vote, but it does tell you what Europeans think.

I am not young enough to know everything.

I strongly disagree

American politicians are in european media all the time and A LOT of non-american young people are genuine interested in american politics

While nobody could give a fuck about Russia

that you don't know shit about russia doesnt mean people in europe no nothing about the american election...

the media coverage is quite extensive here I would say, and the debates have been on television and so on and so on.

what this means is basically obama is a lot closer to our political ideals than mccains.

Everybody knows shit about USA because it's USA. I'm also pretty sure that you would get the same results in any other industrialized country.

It just demonstrates that the US are very different (isolated ?) from the rest of the world, and that can be so scary.

Actually, the rest of the world probably understand US issues better than half the people living in the states.

In the US, there are some people who base their choice on a single unimportant issue such as abortion or gay marriage, and that is truly scary.

non-isolated would be better, american politics are very important around the world, because almost the entire world economy is at least somewhat dependant on the american economy, which is why the world would be interested in it.

just because you don't know nothing about foreign countries doesn't mean it's the same shit up here, that we don't have no clue whats going on.

SpasticInk   Sweden. Nov 02 2008 23:09. Posts 6298

the entire europe is left wing in that case, b/c i think obama has something like 80/20 in almost every country.
