i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on both of those particular games. mainly the difference in limit holdem and a basic strategy to go by if i wanted to jump into a 3/6 game for both. what hands are good to play/raise and how i should be approaching it from a strategy standpoint. also what general omaha8 hands are good starting hands. thx all.

in O8 you obviously want hands that can scoop the pot. Thus hands like AA23 double suited are the best. Hands like A234 you should limp since you want more action since you most likely going to win half the pot at most. A2 is the best low draw but you want a good backup like a 3-5. Postflop you don't want to draw to the non-nuts or else you will just be put in tough spots and miss/bleed off bets. A more advance thing i have picked up is having a 6 in your hand so when flop is 234, you have 56, you can pick up the high and the low if you have the ace. That's more applicable in PLO8 but it's still useful in o8. |
