Yea sick game. Very good split push by Alliance when Navi was pushing their mid. And S4's puck cancelling 2 TPs in the end also very nice.

admiralbulldog is way too good, probably was overall the best player in the international.

No they were playing for $2M, but 1st was $1.4m+change and second got $630k-ish.

Awesome tournament. I spend probably 100 hours of my life watching it last week :x. Was cheering for Na'Vi but that last game aawww maaaaannn

And yeah, the beyond the summit guys are the best commentators. I think Ayesee (while being ok at keeping the crowd entertained) is fairly bad when it comes to the game itself. Draskyl helps a lot with that, but he's too timid imo. I think Toby is entertaining.

lumi can't speak english.

and while i'm not a navi fanboy, their play relies on picking really chaotic drafts and giving opponents something new. i'm sure most ppl on this forum as poker players can appreciate this.

then there is the Chinese way(to me this is the alliance way as well, think about their fairly consistent player pool), just perfect the execution 99/100 times and win, even though the opponents know what's going to happen.

i'm really hoping fnatic step up their game next year, get rid of hanni, and put n0tail back at mid where he belongs

haha glad to see i'm not the only one.

i think toby + wagamama was great, and wagamama every now and then provides absolute gems of insight. i guess lumi+gd might be a better combo for the casual average player

It still hurts seeing how NaVi threw it all away.

they won with artstyle as captain. i think under puppey's leadership, na'vi will lose more "standard" games because they try a lot of surprise picks. his weakness as a captain was exposed during game 5 with his decision making losing him the game

I strongly disagree with most of what you said here.

Puppey is still amazing. You don't just end up in finals three times if your support (and leader) sucks. While it's not a bad thing to hold an opinion, I think it's reasonable to give an accomplished player like Puppey a benefit of the doubt instead of saying his draft/decisionmaking sucks.

Xboct is an amazing player, incredibly underrated. For what it's worth, even I used to think he wasn't so great. But since this year's TI, I have changed my mind completely. This guy is absolutely incredible. Game 4 could've almost been a turnaround mainly thanks to Xboct, and their victory over Orange came down to Xboct as well. This is when Mushi dies for a third crucial death, where in night time, Mushi's OD forces itself forward to sheep Xboct when rest of Na'Vi were sitting behind him. Sheep is an instant cast, and 800 range (naix's night vision also 800 range). Somehow, Xboct was able to react to this and rage before the sheep was clicked on him, making Mushi look stupid as it now seems he have forced himself towards all of Na'Vi to get killed. That sealed that game.

There were other numerous times where his button-clickingness was so fucking on point. Where many others would've just died and he'd snaprage and live openings of ganks.

Also dota's commentating is not very good in general. In fact, all of eSports is minus maybe that of Tasteless. A lot of people just don't have the charisma. I really like fighting game's Seth Killian. That guy is the fucking best.

I think Dota commentary is way better than Starcraft commentary in general. Tastosis is really good though but they seem to have lost their freshness and don't really get excited in the game. In the end of the game when one player is winning the last big game they're like 'yeahhh... looks like this is it.. no way x player can get back from this' instead of 'AND HE'S PUSHING IN, TRYING TO END IT NOW, etc.etc.'. There's a lot more energy in the commentary of the Dota casters which is nice in these fast-paced games. It keeps you on the edge of your seat.

And then you have terrible casters like Khaldor in SC that definitely sways my preference to the dota casters.
