Still no progress by AcroN, January 06

The day started off pretty good, won about 2 BIs playing abit at school (teacher was sick, so had a cuple hours until next lecture started). Got home and slept for a few hours, then played some more. Ran like usuall, and dropped from up 2, to down 1 bi for the day. Cant remember all the hands, but ill post the three main hands.

Not 100% sure about this one, but the guy was playing like 45 / 40, and he was pretty crazy. Figured he could show up with alot of other Aces, especially if he had a decent spade kicker for it.

Hey Guys,

Another update after a break-even session at NL10
Again i encountered a lot of suckouts, but also a lot of fish, at the end i am exactly break even over 1715 hands. LOL!

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602495

I misclicked this one preflop (i wanted to raise), which made me win a good pot.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602469

I should have let this one go on the flop imo.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602446

I hate myself for betting this turn, all the draws hit.
This one is really a check fold on the turn.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602439

Cooler?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602432

I cant fold flop after putting that amount in, can i?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/mytlnet/myhand.php?view=item&id=602417

Mmmm, i smelled this one on the river, but i couldnt hold myself from putting him in

The past few session i felt i can play better but i am also getting fucked by pokerstars. I really would like to know how much i actually should be up, i think its alot more then i actually am.

Thanks for reading and placing comments at the hands.

My little challange by EXCELED, January 06

Since I have a week off and nothing to do Im going to set a little challange for myself. The goal is to try and play 8-10k hands or to make $250 by Monday. This might not be a lot for some of you guys who play 10+ tables but I usually play maybe 4k hands a week. I think Im slacking and can do a lot better so Im going to give it a shot.

Im hoping that at the end of the week I can make it back to .5/1. I have just been stomping the .25/.50 lately... even more so then usual. Im playing pretty ABC poker and its doing the trick so Im not complaining lol. I put in a pretty sweet session for about 650 hands this morning and make $38 or 76 BB which is very very nice. Might be on a sick heater right now so I hope the doomswitch doesnt make a visit. Here are some sweeties from this morning:

Villan in this hand was about as ABC as you could get. If he was better you can garuntee he atleast has Middle to Top pair. Turn is a very nice card, river is just jizz pants.

So I want to play atleast 500 more hands today which should be pretty easy to kill. I might even try and play in a donkament tonight... been a while since Ive played in one of these. I would really like to take down a nice one but I run like shit in them so Im not getting my hopes up lol. Hope everyone has a great day. Ill keep you guys posted on how shes going.

should I keep playing? by luddite, January 06

I've been playing seriously for about 4 months now, although I haven't really played that much this last month. I started with $50 at NL2, now after like 300 hours and 100k hands, I have about $500. I can easily beat NL10, but I still can't crack NL25. I've taken like 10 shots at it, but every time I just quickly lose money and have to rebuild at NL10.

The thing is, I do enjoy poker but... not that much. There's lots of other games that I enjoy more, the only thing that really makes poker exciting for me is the potential to make money. And, I'm starting to doubt that that's ever going to happen for me. I came from the same background as a lot of you- a college student who's played a lot of starcraft and is good at math and most strategy games, but is kinda lazy and doesn't like working too hard. So, I guess I'm just frustrated that I'm not as good at this game as I hoped I'd be, and i've spent a lot on it for nothing.

(Vote): Keep trying, you'll get there eventually

Little HEM help by EXCELED, January 06

Hey guys I got a few quick questions about HEM that I was hoping you guys could help me out with:

1. I know you have to pick a preferred seat for the HUD. What seat number is this consider in the HUD?

http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp360/mbs03/seat.jpg

2. Also how do you "mark" certain hands while playing using HEM?

Thank guys,

HM in December i payed 677$ rake in 10 K hands Nl100 Hu according to PT2
So that would be almost 2 BI in 10 K hands if i played at Fulltilt poker instead of Pokerstars ...

I wanted to try Full tilt again for HU anyways since from teh videos i saw there is the same amount of bums playing at the Nl100 Hu tables like there is on pokerstars.

Only problem ->
When i first DL Full Tilt long time ago i created a playmoney account to test the software
I had never made any payment into that account nor have i ever played real money with that account.

Later on i signed up with Liquidpoker for the 27% rakeback deal
But after a few months my rakeback account got closed
I could withdraws the money but i couldnt play with that acocunt any longer >-<
They emailed me that i could only have 1 account.

I answered that the 1st account was never used in real money games
but they didnt care and left the playmoney account open and the real money one closed.

Now i have a question what to do best.

1.) Just create a new account with another e-mail and hope they wont check any IP things or whatever
2.) E-mail them and say they should delete my playmoney account and reopen the real money account
3.) Other

edit : Btw i finally do a break and will only concern myself with some
HU theory on Leggo and Deucescracked
playing while having to do thinsg for university tilts me ....

I played on pokerstars few days ago and i was down 300 to some hughe idiot who just was agressie all teh time and always hit
after that i tilted and played 2 tables where i just randomly moved all in ......
lost another 300 oder so

This reminded me :
Dont play when ure head is not free ^^

Fun break by acdawg712, January 06

Started off break with a shitshow and $91 on FTP and $30 on stars. At the end of the night i had 0 on ftp(cashed out 50) and 36 on stars(down to 19 and put it all on NL25 table) I played live with Joedeertay and my fish friend at .1/.2 and i won all the money ($80 would been $100 if i had not told joe to fold when I flopped Top set, nut flush draw, and gutshot) and won $20 the next day. But i am stupid and played a high variance 1/2 game and lost $120 when i lost every single time when i held a pocket pair preflop to overcards.

In the middle I had turned my $35 into $121 on stars. I would just grind PLO 5 and NL 5 and eventually jumped into badugi. I started off well but then went on a downswing before hitting a small upswing. At the end of every night, i would get stuck or retarded so i would go play something way too high with my bankroll(PLO 50, NL 2-7 50, $2 Badugi,PLO25) and i would somehow get unstuck/win a good amount.

So tonight, I make my friend who has made like 900 over the last few days playing relatively low sngs stake me in some sngs. I was able to cash in 2 of 3 netting myself 57 bucks.

Here are a couple hands when i was confused.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/602191- The villan was very tight, so his range was very polarized. Am I just better off folding becaue villan will continue firing better hands and most likely check worse?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/602193- Should I be shoving here with 7BBs and a decent hand? BU and SS were somewhat active but BB was tight.

So this is where I stand after break.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/a5cee7387cfbd78a4dfb4232bba1e491.jpg

and -20 live.

May all your cards be live and your pots be monsters!

2nd non poker related post, but i just watched twilight...

and i liked it

lololol

anyways i'm 5 buy ins away from moving back up to nl25, steam rolling through nl10 6max, 16+ tabling and playing horribly (14/11 i think) but robo-nitting works at micros (12bb/100 over 10k hands, running horrible actually, so yeayuhhhh), so whatever. i already know i can run 5-6 bb/100 on nl25 so i'm just trying to get my roll back for now. hoping to hit nl50 again by the end of the month. that is, if i stop playing DotAAAAAA

No Way, Not True by k2o4, January 06

I didn't get sucked out on while playing NL200.........

WTF!?!?!?!?

PIGS MUST BE FLYING AND HELL HAS GOT TO BE FROZEN!!!

So I started my final session of the day and was surprised to see a bunch of super loose tables on a Monday night..?? I knowwww.

Jumped on a bunch of NL100 tables and things were finally going my way for once. I figured I better ride this rush to the fullest and hunted down the 4 loosest NL200 tables I could find. Closed down a bunch of NL100 tables and kept the loosest ones there and played 8 tables, 4 on each limit. Was getting a lot of cards but not too much action. Then the card rush slowed down for a while and I was getting ready to leave when I hit a few hands and they all held up (KK vs QQ and so on). Usually when I get it in as a favorite on NL200 I end up losing, so this was a fucking awesome change of pace.

Won about 2 buyins at each limit for $600 profit. I'd already taken 3 BI @ NL100 during my other sessions for the day so this turned into a $900 day. Finally! That puts me above 4k for the first time since my thanksgiving NL200 shot where I hit 5k.

Todays results:

http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//Sessions-1-05-09-All-1day.jpg

http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//Graph-1-5-09-All-Dollars-1day.jpg

So going forward I'm gonna keep playing NL100 whenever I set down but now that I'm over 4k I will play NL200 if I feel good and see juicy tables OR if I'm doing a sweat session with my coach.

I've also put together a new schedule for myself which I started today. I'm working 2 days a week and playing poker 3 days a week. Got coaching sessions on as many days possible and have blocked out time for poker sessions every day. But I also have blocked out time to spend with my GF, exercise and to work on other projects. It's giving me balance that I haven't had in a long time, plus it gives me structure and an opportunity to be disciplined. The more disciplined I am in my daily life the easier it will be to maintain that discipline while playing poker, which is really important.

So overall life is good. Just gonna keep grinding it out till I'm a NL200 reg. I know it's gonna happen and who knows, it might be soon ^^

Feh... I don't know what to do

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/2a64acaeb1055c16d109811177ef5913.jpg

Couple of hands I could use input on

What can I do? Anything? I don't think I can but ya. Its like "WTF." I really don't see myself being ahead, but how often do they have to be bluffing/have 1 lower pair for me to be ok with this call? 5/35, 14%? They probably don't have worse that frequently or what?
+ Show Spoiler +

Been beat everytime I do this, this is still correct vs 99% of opponents right?
+ Show Spoiler +

Honestly I see mostly horrendous beats looking at my other losing hands today. These are the least cooler/beat like ones I see. Just making sure I'm valuing TP correctly I guess.

They play! by EXCELED, January 05

So today I finally got settled into my new place. My room mate and I were watchin team Canada rock the Swedes (woot!) game when his old man comes by fuckin hammered. I guess he is living here until the end of the month because hes working here in London. Anyways he has a few of his buddies with him from work and he looks at me and says "Hey you ever play poker? Were playing a game if you got $20 and want to play?" I smile and say sure.

These guys were all pretty rocked. I guess they go out after work for beers everyday lol. We start playing and man they were so terrible. I ended up taking the game down for a nice $120 in my pocket. Not a bad way to start off in the new city. His dads buddy tells me that they run a tourney for $10-20 at the bar up the street 3 times a week and they usually get atleast 25 people playing! Sweet. He also tells me they play a cashgame on saturday nights at his place and that Im welcome to come lol. Looks like I found a way to make some extra change here.

Anywyas Im gonna hit some bongs and start up a session.

Playing bad and running terrible by edzwoo, January 05

So I was messing around playing extremely laggy which worked out great because everyone was extremely weak tight, but I've been value-towning myself extremely often with marginal hands, which means I am obviously making big mistakes in my opponents calling ranges. I think I have to go back to my old 16/11 game since I obviously don't have the ability to open more hands than that (and it's fullring anyway).

Anyways, I'm also running extremely bad. EV states I'm running about 4.5bi under expectation, but that's not including some of the sick river'd backdoor straights I had vs donks
