Will stars pull through? by vegable, March 09

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/4e9706c9398a4987bc898ab4c02d3f6c.jpg

Well, had a pretty pleasant Sunday grinding 9 tables as you can see. I caught so many good hands that on one of my tables, my timebank had run out of time and I lost a ton of value getting autofolded. So I sent out an email to stars:

  Hello Pokerstars support,

Theres been an issue with the time bank at the games today. Typically, 30 seconds would seem to be enough time when faced with difficult situations at the table. When these decisions pile up on a single table, there is often no time left in the bank after the initial exhaustion of my clock. I was just 9 tabling today when these hands came up:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/649476
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/649474

These 2 hands happened within 5 minutes of each other, on the very same table. I was more than flustered after the second time it had happened. Not only did the lack of time cost me the pot, but the full stacks of my opponents they had behind as well. as I was contemplating my raise sizing, my hands were autofolded. While I feel that pokerstars is technically very well adjusted for their software, in these instances these timing features seemed to work against their intended purpose, which is allowing players enough time to deliberate their actions without holding up the game. Once my initial reserves of "time" were exhausted there was little room for maneuvering.

I feel that the loss of chips were not completely my fault. as an avid pokerstars player, I kindly ask that you review these hands and rule a fair decision. Your patience in this matter is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

-vegable

I feel that I'm entitled to some kind of compensation here so if support credits me with my deserved winnings, I hereby declare that with said winnings I will buy myself a nice footlong roastbeef with ranch dressing, extra olives, pickles, and yellow chili peppers.

live poker adventures by John Galt, March 09

UT has been raping me for the last 2 months and i've played like 3k hands in 2009 on PS
instead i've been running good at casino niagara against live donks

the game is 10 handed 1/2 with a 50bb max buy in and i have 2 hands im not sure about and would love some comments on

hand 1:
reads/table feel: im at a table with like 6 loose fools who love limp calling, the table is aggressive enough that 70% of hands are raised and we usually see 4-6 way 9-13$ raised pots. the hand is against a horrid 85/2/1.5 loud talking, splashy white guy over 100 hands who limp calls like its his job and maybe folded after limping once in his life. fold to cbet like <20%. he has bet 2 streets against another loose fool but couldnt beat second pair, called two streets and folded river multiple times, presumeably draws. i think he's randomly aggro, quite stationy when they play small ball, and has very little idea about hand strength. i havent been stealing cuz i can't friggin make ppl fold, im just trying to play tight and value bet thin. mr splashy
has rebought maybe 3 times now but recently stacked someone and is sitting about 300 deep and i have him covered.

5 kids limp and i raise AK in the SB to 15, the 85/2 and another loose fool calls

flop: AK5dd, pot is like 54
i check top two expecting him to bet with worse so i can raise. mr splashy bets 50$ and loose fool folds. i decide to call cuz im kinda shocked by his huge bet (they usually bet <1/2 PSB) and if i raise i think he can fold A9 cuz my image is pretty tight

turn: AK5Jddd, pot is like 150
i check cuz the flop bet was so big and i doubt a small ball player bets so big with a flush draw or QT, also i have Kd for the nut flush draw. again i plan to check raise and take worse two pairs to value town. He bets 25 into 150 wtf gay? proly Ax with a small diamond, and so i raise to 100. he starts muttering to himself like fmlfml idiot kid 2 outted me fmlfml....so im like wtf this guy puts me on jacks? and i was quite scared
he tanks for like 4 minutes and calls

river blank, pot is 350 and he has like 150 behind
he could very well have A5/K5 but for some reason his turn chat much had me pissing myself, but like, wtf live donk..i have top two..

i put out a blocking bet of 30 (cuz i cant check a set...or am i leveling myself against this guy?) and he tanked another 3 min and flatted

im not sure about the river but i think flop and turn are for value and not too thin

hand 2
different table, similar loose fools, but more like 3 of them were limp folds, much less agressive, 60% of hands were probably limped 6 way flops. villain is a TERRID aggro monkey lebanese guy who thinks he knows how to play poker and came here to spew, dressed up all nice with his ho and is funding both their donations to 1 internet kid (who looks like he's either been awake for 48 hours or is on a ton of sedatives) and 2 tight regs one of whom feels the need to take smoke breaks every 20 mins or so and im pretty sure sitting to his direct left for 4 hours shortened my expected life span by at least a week or two, (nit life, i know, im in biochem) anyways the lebanese aggrofag talks so much smack is tilting my friend out of his mind. i've seen him jam T2 on a 46Tss 3 way vs OOP donk and smooth caller because he 'needed to protect against chasers'. he's jammed nut flush draw multiple times and done gay stuff like 'check in the dark' against me OOP with a baby FD and call my cbet, then 'check in the dark' again with the turn flush....and check in the dark on the river.....???? he pulled this exact same line against my friend with SPNK. he loves to slow play big hands and checked a flopped boat once when his gf jams and he said FML and shoved his chips in cuz he's friggin winning his own money and paying rake lolzzz.
he's rebrought like 8 times for like 25-40bb..... including funding his +1 for like 20bb at a time lol
the other villain is a really passive loop young guy, limp calls life and check folds missed flops. except this one time he limp called OOP when i raise from behind with AKhh, he donks then 3bet jams when i raise on QJ2hh and he holds with J9

2 loose passive fools limp, lebanese man playing 95/0/3 limps behind
i raise QQ in the SB to 13
one of the 80/0, fit or fold guys call and the lebanese man obvs calls with his entire range after glaring at me and putting UP his sun glasses so he knows that i know that he's glaring at me

flop: 464ss, pot 45
i cbet 25 OOP, the very passive guy insta min raises to 50$ and the lebanese guy thinks for about 5 seconds and jams about 180$

given history....is this a call?

Once a month I make a blog post for the lp community and you can ask me any health related questions and i'll do my best to help you out. All info will be kept confidential, and won't tell a soul about the question/condition you may have. I'm a 3rd year nursing student, and i'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands tomorrow so send me a PM.

gg by fenner, March 08

gg, bored of poker. Played around 8 months and didn't really get anywhere, proven that I'm retarded. Anyway I enjoyed it whilst it lasted, but now I'm just not feeling it anymore. Been stuck between 25nl and 50nl for a long time, I'm not good enough to move up, I have reached my skill cap at 25nl. Gonna post some graphs as you will probably find them interesting. Also I'll sill be playing, but I'm just going to become a grinder - 25nl is much better pay than any job I can get and I don't have need for much money.

Thanks for the help and support you guys gave me, I know I didn't contribute much myself.

Cake freeze by traxamillion, March 08

So I start my sunday session and about 30 hands in i got

a6 > my qq aipre
ak > my 86 ai on 86k flop
10-8o > my aa in 3bet pot

standard now it is time to get unstuck but then the real beat comes.

I have ak+ on 4 tables when all of a sudden everything freezes and it isn't on my side.

still not the worst thing that could happen but now i haven't even been able to log in for over a half hour. Nice software :/

apparently these are supposed to be semi-frequent also

Any doctors here? by CrownRoyal, March 08

I don't have health insurance on myself and I have no idea wtf is wrong with me.

When I wake up in the morning it burns when i piss, throughout the day it gets better and usually eventually i can't even tell that it still burns. There is no discharge from my dick and i have no signs of having an STD and I don't really see how i could have gotten one because the last girl i fucked was like 1 month ago and as far as i know she is clean.

The last couple days there is some slight discomfort where my prostate i would assume is, I dunno if this is me making it up in my mind or not but i think there is definitely something wrong with me.

i wish it could have absolutely anything to do with my body other than being oriented around my dick.

Basic Ranges? by Sliggy, March 08

Ok so I see a lot of people say things like "his 3bet calling range includes a lot of x" or "his limp/calling range is usually x" etc. etc.

I'm just wondering (generally, on average, as guidelines) what the usual ranges for people are for:

limp calling (small PP and sc)
limp raising (im guessing KK / AA).
3bet calling OOP.
3bet calling IP.
anything else you can think of.

<3 donkaments by JoeDeertay, March 08

So spring break started yesterday, but I hate going home and don't have a vacation planned, so I'm just going to spend the week in my apartment and grind all day. I'm planning on spending the rest of my UB roll (about $38 or so that I haven't really touched in months other than to qualify for RTR freerolls) on those 10c WSOP step1 things to see what I can make of it. Should be interesting.

Anyway, last night I figured I'd see what tournaments were running on PlayersOnly and if there was anything good I'd just play it. I only have like $125 there and want to cash it out/transfer it anyway, so I thought I'd try and make a score before moving it. I ended up playing a $6 2k guarantee and finishing 7th for like $78 or something. Not bad.

Then today I woke up at 2pm and thought I'd see what else was running, and I saw that a $6 2k guarantee turbo had been running for 3 minutes and late reg was open. I registered and 2.5 hours later I take 2nd for $375.88 .

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/6e923d5756fa1072496256e02fbc7eb9.jpg

It was nice because I was running like shit in my preflop all ins (only went like 2/6 with those) during the tourney but somehow managed to keep chipping up throughout. Now I have $537.04 on Players, and I'm thinking now is a good time to ship it elsewhere.

That being said, if anyone wants to trade $537.04 Players-->FTP/stars then that'd be awesome.

I don't want to just cash it out if I don't have to because then I'd be waiting for like 5-6 weeks =[
Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to trade.

GL in all your endeavors!
-Joe

w00t! by JerseyMuscle, March 08

Live heater, which made it more fun. Up 3 BI in about 8 hours of 2/5NL at the Borgata last night/this morning. Tilted the hell out of one guy check/shoving J9hh on a 67Thh board and cracking his KK. Another guy told me I always made perfect bet sizes and he's never seen anyone do it better, and that me and my friend were the 'new era of poker players.' lol. And I got teriyaki. A fine night.

I'm pretty behind on hands/gold star this month, but I'll catch up, it's still early. Everything else is looking good.

Excitement by Gawuss, March 08

God I can't believe - D_Zoo accepted me as a student - I can't wait to hear probably the most awesome voice ever, I'm so excited
The next cool thing is Michael Jackson's concert in London. Hopefully I'll be able to get some tickets and also talk a couple of friends into it because this trip is bound to be great. I turn 18 in July so it's even more fun
I haven't posted any February results yet so here is the graph:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/75bcafbaa351c457a48f43df87977c39.jpg

As you can see I didn't play many hands in the last month. That's due to winter holidays (i.e. partying, laziness, etc ) and school (i.e. being tired all the time). And here's another reason I wanted to get a coach - I'm sure D_Zoo will motivate me as hell to play as much as I can.

As a bonus info me and my cousin got a prop-bet going on. He's supposed to play 102,8k hands in March. So far his best score has been 55k hands in January. If he doesn't make it I'll win a bottle of Dom Pérignon (btw. it was his idea, not mine)

Ok guys, that's it for today
Good luck,

Mike

P.S HAPPY BDAY TO MY BROTHER PETER WHO TURNS 22 TODAY !!!!
