OK, so I have been on the road for basketball for 2 weeks straight, we ended up losing to the number one team in Division II college basketball. I am now on spring break, so I will be missing school for 3 straight weeks which is kinda nice.
As a result of this I haven't been able to play much and update my blog at all. The internet at all the hotels was terrible so I would load up 6 tables and win at my usual rate. About the 3rd time I folded a big pocket pair in a situation that likely would have made me a buy in due to the internet timing out I would quit. I had nothing else to do so I would play a few tournies and I would lose. So I basically bounced between the $60 and $90 mark for 9 days. Now that I'm home I just finished a 2 hour session and it was great. I dropped 2 buy-ins right away, but then I went on a nice run and made the 2 back plus 6 more. I ended up +5 buy-ins. The weekends are so much easier than the weekdays on micro stakes. I'm not saying I have trouble beating them but it is just so much easier. Here is a screen shot of the amount of money I had in play after only about 600 hands. I believe I had 4 tables of 3x BI.
Here's my graph of march since I haven't updated in a while. I moved up to NL5 after beating nl2 with a decent rate over 15k hands. NL5 is a breeze as well. My BR is now at $100. Im hoping to move up to NL10 in a few days. March graph is about 30% nl2 and 70% nl5.
Hey LP what's up. Even though this is my first blog and like 2nd time posting on this site, I don't feel too newb just because I've been posting on TL for a year. You may know me as a KTF fan or Flash fan.. and overall I love SC.
But as you all know, anyone who likes SC, gets into poker. It just happens.
I guess my question is, how is this for a start @ .5/.10NL? I know only 2300 hands is a really small sample size, but I find it hard to multitable right now more than 2 tables so it makes it hard to play many hands an hour.. so this is all I've got. I don't even have any example hands to post of my play, but I will try and start posting more often in the Low Stakes section so I can get some feedback and ideas.
Anyways, I am stupid because it looks like I broke the forum layout with the pics. I'm sorry! Please look and forgive a noob like me until I reupload later. Thanks in advance for any advice and again, sorry for not posting any specific hands. I'll grab some during my next session and ask for advice.
Last night I went out with a bunch of my buddies to the bar in St. Catharines. It was a pretty good time as usual. I got reaaaally drunk... $10 pitchers are just trouble. Went down like water.
Anyways when we got back to my buddies place he pulls out a huge bag of mushrooms. 3 of us ended up doing them and man I was tripping the fuck out but I had a blast. I ended up going on a 2 hour walk outside.... what an adventure. I got back to the house around 5am and all I wanted to do was to go to sleep. Didnt happen. I couldnt fall asleep if my life depended on it man. I laid there for about 30 minutes and the stuff that was going through my mind was just crazy... damn shrooms. I decided that I didnt want to be laying down here thinking about crzy shit so Iwent upstairs and my buddies who did the mushrooms wre still up too lol. We chilled and before I knew it it was 9am.
So right now its 930pm and I still have not slept! WTF! All I want to do is go to sleep but I cant. Fuckin shrooms. Looks like Im going to be a complete write off tomorrow and end up sleeping all day. I was hoping to get in a ton of hands tomorrow but I also have to go back to London tomorrow sometime too. Shrooms were a lot of fun but Im not doing them again for a while.
Wednesday night Im going to see Motley Crue in concert at the Copps Colliseum in Hamilton. Should be pretty sick and loud as fuck. I think Theory of a Deadman is opening for them too. Im not big Theory fan but Im sure they will be decent with a 12 pack in me. Gonna be puffin J's the whole time. Should be a shit load of cougars at the show too lol. Im gonna try and wheel me a mommy.
Last night my buddy Jay showed me a video of this homeless beatboxer guy named GFunk or Red. Hes really got some talent and I Guess now hes got a record deal. I thought it was pretty cool man. Here are two videos of him:
Its OK, not complaining at all. Got my head back on straight and I am going to continue crushing nl100 again I've hardly played because of the whole downswong you see there and having to sort it out.
I'm off to vegas tomorrow at 9.30AM(gotta wake up at 7.30, B A R F). Things are looking like they're gonna be a lot of fun and I really hope I run good I might even drop some money on one of those small buyin tournaments if there's something cool going on, just for shits 'n giggles. I figure I will set aside $100 for random gambling but I don't even know if 100 bucks will get me anywhere in vegas.. whats a fun gambling game?
Its only 8pm but I'm so god damn tired today I don't really want to grind anymore, which sucks. I'll have to play a lot of hours when I get back in order to get near my hand-goal for the month.
I don't think the nl200 reg status thing is going to work out because its so fucking dead on cake most of the day. I'm going to be moving my roll to UB For RB/bonus and hopefully I will beat nl100 there like I beat it at cake and I'll try to move up to nl200 permanently by the end of April... Sooner is always better ofc so we'll see though
I'm up over 20k in live poker in very limited sessions (mostly at Salamanca casino in Salamanca NY, I've wanted to go to Las Vegas for over a year now, and I have nothing else going on in my life, and I wanna go out to some fun clubs in vegas (here we only have small bars, where we can get shitfaced, but theres never a tiesto or paul van dyke showing up here, or tool, or great headline bands that host amazing shows.
Its time to go to Vegas.
I'll grind 1/2 during the daytime and nighttime of most weeks (some 2/5 if I win $500 at 1/2 and feel like freerolling 2/5, but if I lose that bi on 2/5 I will move back down to 1/2. (Also wanna play atleast once deep at the wynn with like $600-1.2k on the table or something ridiculous and just steamroll the table into submission (u know how we rollz), and I wanna know where the fishiest casinos are as well, although I'm sure I'll pick them out)
I moved to my current town 10 months ago, and don't know many people, and hardly ever get to go do anything fun.
I don't mind cashing out 3-4k and leaving myself a Nl25-50 bankroll online and going to vegas.
I for one, have learned to not believe in ever "taking shots", I wasted a year of my life on this, but tbh, there comes a time when its time to go out there and see what I got, and do what I gotta do. I can start at 1/2, I have no responsibilities holding me down here, and my roommate told me that I only have to pay him $200 a month when I'm not here.
For live play, 20bi is more than enough, and if I run and play well, I'll move up every 20 bi, (10k for 2/5, 20k for 5/10, 40k for 10/20, 100k for 25/50 etc)
Theres a hotel at the end of the Vegas strip for $29.99 a night, the hotels actually really nice (was recommended to me by a millionaire), I know this isn't balla, and I don't give a shit, its suitable for what I'm going with and is less than 1/7 of a bi a night. (1 bi a week to stay there is pretty sick)
Who knows, I could win a lot in Vegas, and if I lose, then who gives a shit, I still have a roll to play on, and if I'm break even, I'll probably stay and keep playing.
Don't you guys ever just wanna go do something spontaneously?
Hey, wish me luck, you know I'd wish everyone of you luck.
Cashing out $3,922 now, ontop of my last cashouts of $650, $155, $92, $155, that adds up to $4,927 for the trip. (I'm driving so I don't have to take a taxi everywhere...although that may not be the best idea, its great because I only have to spend $30 on a hotel room instead of $100-$300, and I would love to stay in vegas for a long while)
I'll still be grinding online at NL50 6m / NL50 HU and some MTT's that I'm staked for, I also have a lot of FPP saved up that I'm going to use for tournament days.
if u disconnect and reconnect afterwards u cant reload at your tables nor can u join new tables ( insta says time out occured after 1 millisecond)
so i have to close all my 8 tables and rejoin the waiting lists in order to be able to reload again
pretty ridiculous
up 15 BI this month so far in ~6,5 K hands
competition is a joke
tons softer than FTP or stars
The Dell SP2309W 23" monitor. Unlike most 24" which run at 1900x1200 or 1900x1080, this baby's res max at 2048x1152. You can get it for about $300 here: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Dell/SP2309W/
Everytime i move up i lose so much money, am i adapting so badly to 50nl?
I played 25nl today for 1200hand ish and won 160$ , played 50nl and fucking hell lost 300$ again.
Alright, so I wanna live somewhere thats a tropical climate, has a good nightlife and isn't ultra expensive (can live off of $1k - $2k a month), preferably in the states, although southeast asia is sounding very tempting right about now.

So I am keep tilting cuz I can't hit a flop or can't stack anyone. Then I am looseing and then when I sometihng margenal I can't fold it cuz that's the strongest hand I had in ages.It is even more annoying when it happens at weekends.I am screaming at the screan die die you fucking cocksucker and want to get even to stop but I am going down ofc.
That's what I spew today: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/648519 2nd hands at teh table "you bitch why you raise to 24 you are full of shit SHIP"
so I recently switched from nit style to lag style, trying to open my game a lot and be really tought to play again. The reason for that was, that one day I was sitting in table with one 90/50 villain and I had him on my left hand, and I realized how damn tought is playing something like him especially oop - he was calling every bet, he was fireing everytime someone checked to him, dont fold single blind etc ... obv I think that this is exploitable, but I found myself and others on the table in many very hard situations with him postflop, because he wasnt spewy and could recognize when we weak tighters actually had a hand and just folded and continued next hand with collecting our money bb after bb.
His succes was definitely in fact, that he could take others from their comfort playing zone, he was attacking every pot and maintained others in permanent pressure, he was not folding to cbets so he forced people to start playing tricky against him by checking made hand on the flop (and get outdrawed and still pay him off with tptk because he is such a fish obv), double barreling in situations where they was not used to etc etc - simply, he could made them tilting and playing really bad check/call/guess poker against him.
This really impressed me, and next session I started to play like a maniac running 50/50 first 20 hands on my tables and them slowly "tighten" up to consistent 31/28 with ton of 3betting and I found it really working great. People started tilt agains me and did a fancy plays with bottom pairs and shipping A2o preflop etc. Poker is entertainment for me again, because with a lot of action, situations and gameflow, I really started thinking about my decisions and started making some crazy lines, 1/4 pot bets and overbets etc etc to make head of my opponents explode and take them out from their standart plays. I found that most of "regs" like 16/13 are quite exploitable and most of the time they play superstandard lines and basically shows you theirs hole cards. In the other hand I found myself do a lot of spewy moves in the heat of battle and I will have to work on it in the future because it really hurts my winrate.
It is obv small sample, maybe I won few more flips and floped few more nut str8 than is usual, but still there must be somethink what I am doing right, because this is my biggest heater ever. With 1600 in my BR Iam going to try NL50 today, probably take a 6bi shot and then go back to NL20, hope that I wont play scare money and be able to crush this limit too.
So I played alot of mtt today (some on stakes, some not) and only made one FT in the $22 deepstacked (had 300x bb, everyone else 90-150x bb) where I made a semi-misread (put villain on 88-JJ when he had QQ and he called my 3rd barrel (i had AK)
Lost $450-$600 playing mtt's today of my own $, was a lil pissed about that
During the FT I made a side bet with python i would win the tourney, so i lost 250 for that, so only won a few $100 or so in the tournament
But as determined as I was, I played a small cash session waiting for my roommate to finish his session (hes gsr_01_integ) a $6-12 45-180 man sng player (very good all around player)
I played close to my absolute best, and ran fairly well too
Cashed out $150 more (about $1100 in the past few weeks, first time i've been cashing out money from poker in a long long time, and it feels so good, more motivation as well :-)
GL LP, I'm out 4 the night
Ryan (DReaMe)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Been 4tabling for 725 hands now, lol. I've spewed some I think. Its no biggy though, just need to get back into playing thoughtfully and confidently. I leave for Vegas on Sunday, so tomorrow I'm going to pack.. but mostly try and put in 2k hands 4tabling since the weekend fish are about
Red-line has stopped dropping like a brick in the past 700 hands which is a good sign that my play is improved vs the beginning of the month where, ugh I don't know, I just crapped out lolol
I've played very little overall this month since I decided to take a step back, relax and rejuvenate myself to get back on the pwnage train to robustoville.
I know that retarded change in my redline is 100% my fault. I guess this is a good lesson to learn now; I can never get too comfortable at the levels I'm starting to reach now. I honestly feel like I crush these guys when I am playing my B+ game, so I need to make sure I do that. I can't really blame variance at all for this overall run (in either direction )
I'll be making one more update for tomorrow's progress before I head off for vegas! I'll have my laptop there so if I run bad.. don't worry! There will be endless whining available for you to read. I think I'll even have to post some "live hands" threads.. "so this guy was a good LAG who limped behind me preflop..."
PM or comment me if you're interested in meeting or whatever. I'm going to be there 3 days by myself, then Uptown is coming on Wednesday, and we'll be grinding and degening up through Sunday afternoon ^^
