buyins are:

Main Event $3500+200
Second Chance $1020+80

if anyone want to take it drop me a pm or post here and we will discuss about the % and stuff.

Upswing + hands by geeznubs, March 13

had some time to play, I played around an hour at 4 tables .25/.50
Donked 1 BI, (I had AQ, I squeezed, got called by 22, board came AT2)
Then I things went better, short session, but I was up 2,5 BI.

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2676/session2.jpg

here's a hand I'd like to show, because I want to know how you think about the way I played.

mrpeppe was a pretty aggressive player (AF,5) , with a PFR of 11%, so his PFR-range was not very wide. I was out of position and wanted to give the hand up when I faced a cbet, but the check on the turn made me think that he had a hand like AJ,KJ,KQ,AQ, or a small pocketpair. Since I had a fairly tight tableimage, I decided would put up a scary looking min-raise. Do you support this play? or do you recommend another play on any street?

But I played really solid and ended only -40usd after 40minut session and these bad beats dont affects my play in some significant way, and because tilting was my BIG problem last few months, I am really hapy and proud on myself ... maybe I finally have the rigth mindset for playing poker and will not monkeytilt ever again in the future.

Back on track by dejokah, March 13

I just took a major break from poker.

After the last major tilt (last post) I managed to keep loosing until there was only 50$ left (less than what I started)

I lost all will to play poker for awhile, it's hard to handle tilting your whole bankroll. (even if it's only a microstakes roll lulz)

Anyway I've been playing for the past few weeks and made my way back to NL10 from NL5 in the first week, after that I was crushing NL10 with a ridiculous 17 ptBB and working my way up to NL25 when I cashed 300$ in one of those low buy-ins donkaments (4th place) now I'm playing NL25 with a nice roll and people are just trowing money at me, so fast >_<.

Almost 1k$ and Goldstar so I'm pretty happy but still can't help but wonder where I could be if I didn't screwed up last time arround NL25.

Can I win a showdown? by ShadowDrgn, March 13

http://files.lostanarchy.com/ras/poker/bestsession.JPG

Seriously? March has almost completely erased everything I won in February. Couldn't even see a flop with a hand better than AQ, and played 618 hands tonight without a single set. I'm playing against plenty of idiots, but they're donating their stacks to everyone else and only calling my bets when I'm beat. No one folds against my semibluffs and I didn't hit a single one of them tonight. Ugh. I'm glad I make a lot of money as a lawyer because I'm certainly not making any at poker!

jeez stars fr lately... by whamm!, March 13

i know fr is full of nits and shit but lately its been ridiculous, cant win more than a buyin from my sessions lol
i feel it's been more like " free blinds or cooler/setup" option, i cant seem to find those retards with really stupid stats and stack off with really weak holdings, that being said, im taking a couple more days here back at stars and move entirely to eurodonk, had a 22bi upswing in 2500 hands at a eurodonk site then got really dumb and wanted software i would enjoy thats why i went back to stars but now im convinced im wasing time and opportunity to win bigger by playing here. sad to leave stars but the quality of games really dipped for me

is party, ub or boss any softer?

w00t! v2 by JerseyMuscle, March 13

Live heater continues. Up another ~$2200 in a few more hours of Borgata 2/5. Apparently that game is a lot more ridiculous than Caeser's at tournament time, as I lost 2 buyins there in a couple hours. No more Caeser's obv. We can also add the +700 from $10 blackjack at Ballys to the run good. They have some silly side bet that I was just crushing. Probably going back Sunday.

Bump, Palin blah by k2o4, March 13

I'm bored and see that no one got to read my attempt at a funny post about Palin hilarity, hence a bump.

btw it's weird that all of LP's degen's are slowly becoming solid non-degen players... marshall and neilly are changing their ways. At least neilly is still taking risks like the drive accross the country, which should be fun to read about. Props to him for that, it's a ballsy move to make and honestly if I was single I'd probably do something like it.

Luckily we have this new sebboss to fill up the shoes that marshall and neilly are leaving empty!

From Busto to Hero by Sebboss, March 12

I have always had a cash out rule in poker, what is cashed out should stay cashed out. That means, if I burn my online roll I quit playing poker. So after a lot of cash outs I left myself with 80k online, figured that was enough to make something out of. Unfortunatelt that didnt imply that I used BRmanagement according to my online roll.

I have never really practised game selection and was just happy when someone gave me action, so I guess I have only myself to blame when I burned 70k of them mainly by playing 25/50 HU tilted vs a very good opponent, and seriously, i sucked in that game and got outplayed. There I was left with 10k, took a long break, and figured, what the fuck shall I do with 10k? After a while i realized that you actually could make some money to pay for your montly expenses and keep what I had cash out for a house or something, so I started to grind 2/4 and when hitting 12k I could play 3/6.

But life never really turn out the way you hope. No matter how hard i tried I just could not win. I went up to 12k, lost at 3/6, went down, went up to 15k, lost down to 8k etcetc. I think I was going like this for over 50k hands. It was just SO frustrating, here I thought I could kick anyones ass at high stakes HU, but I couldnt fucking win in a 2/4 6MAX game.

After one incredibly unlucky session I ran down to 4k on my online account and then I thought: FUCK THIS GAME, either god wants me to play or he doesnt. I knew that I would tilt away the last money at 2/4, so i took my 4k, sat down at a 25/50 game, having my whole poker career at stake, went up to 5k, lost a couple of pots and was down to 2k....2 fucking k....and then...i won a couple of hands, was up to 5,5k again and one guy raise, another called, I find JJ and reraise, original raiser gets it in... I call... he shoves AK...flipping for my poker career... table comes 934... turn: A FUCKING ACE...goodbye poker...and river: a jack, MY JACK!! So I take down the pot, have a new 2/4 roll and instaleaves.

From there on the poker gods have been good:

[Q] about PokerStars by longple, March 12

Planing on switching to pokerstars, some hours on ipoker its hard to massplay sngs and cgs cuz of some low activity with only like 6-10k players online w like only a few sngs running at a time

what I wonder is about the "cash back" system. now I have a 27% rakeback deal and I wanna know if the bonussystem to switch "points" to cash is any good?

If I rake say 3-4000$ / month will I get like any cashback? cuz 1k rakeback is pretty nice for me and if I can get like close to like atleast 500-1k$ as a 20-30$ sng and 50nl, 100nl player?

Im to laazy to search around on pokerstars site with a calculator and shit ^^

just wonder if any1 who is like using the points for cash regulary can give me some nice info?
Is their bonussystem any good?

would really appriciate it
Thanks <3!

Acknowledgements and Goals (March) by MARSHALL28, March 12

So, writing is actually one of my strengths and it's helped me through a lot of issues in the past. I had stopped doing it for awhile and feel like it's something I need to get back to for my own good.

Ego has gotten me into a lot of trouble and made me look very foolish many times. Now that I'm a little older and (I won't say a little wiser because that's obviously not true) maybe a little less retarded, I'm giving poker another serious shot.

So I started back up w/ something like 100$ on Feb 1st and took it to the 10nl tables. I played 120k hands in February and I feel like I actually accomplished something. After spending a ton of time just watching videos and trying to take away at least one piece of information from each one I watched. If I can't explain to myself one thing I learned after watching a video, I'd have to say I wasted my time. Luckily I didn't have to play the 10nl and 25nl tables for long because a good friend of mine, Mitch Edz/Ruggedman loaned me 1k to play .25/.5, I made enough to pay him back in about 3 days. I finished February pretty strong with a bankroll of 3870. I felt pretty proud of that since it's more than I've won in any month probably over about the last half year playing poker. I logged 203 hours of playing time last month so my hourly was about 20 bucks, it's pennies compared to what I've made in the past, but I can't really find a reason to complain.

So far this month I've played strictly .5/1 and 1/2, I've had a ton of success in .5/1 but have been playing very poorly in 1/2. Regardless, I'm still up 3011 (minus $750 coaching payment to Jamie217) for the month and feel as if I'm finally starting to build some momentum. I think Jamie is an excellent coach and he's really making me feel like very soon I'm going to start to crack the 1/2 games and begin beating them as well.

I had been going through the motions for a long time, auto-piloting through life basically, it was pretty ugly. As I've been spending more time away from the game and thinking about it, I've begun to learn a lot of things I either wasn't looking for or thought I was too good to notice. One of those things is that even the .5/1 games online now are tougher than the 2/4 and 3/6 games were when I was beating them 16 months ago. Even many of the fish play a lot better. Their preflop stacking ranges actually seem like really good, I seem to never get it in good against them preflop. Anybody else notice them starting to c/jam sets and other big hands on the flop? or am I the only idiot that calls them when they do that?

Position seems even more important today than before. I guess many many fewer people were positionally aware than are today. I remember being able to 3bet anything playable from just about any spot in position and be able to show a profit. Now I have to get a lot trickier, 3betting a completely polar range when in UTG+1 and CO. Re-stealing a ton more in sb and bb vs btn/co opens. Deepstack play is way tougher because so many people are much better able to use position and 3betting to make my life miserable.

I've also found that bet sizing postflop in 3bet pots seems to be sososo key and it's the one thing I really need to work on the most. I feel like I've improved my preflop ranges a ton and that I'm playing pretty solid preflop poker for the most part, but my postflop play definitely needs a ton of improvement, these spots are what I'm going to try to work to improve most this month.

I have always tracked all my sessions and kept records, I know HEM does this for me, but it's just become a habit and I like to be able to look through it. What I've done lately are a couple of checks to see what times I'm making the most money at, what times I'm losing the most, how much I've won or lost depending on the length of my sessions, and also how much I've lost from not using a 3 buy in stop loss. Here's what I've found:

February:
Between 10am-2pm +1784
Between 2pm-6pm +2615
Between 10pm-2am -1566
Between 2am-6am +149

So obviously I'm losing the most between 10pm-2am, I probably think that it's just short term variance that I am +149 from 2am-6am because I'm going to assume I'm playing just as badly as I am from 10-2, probably should be playing worse. Since then I've tried to cut down my sessions that go past 10pm, we'll see how I do in accomplishing this goal through March.

February:
1hour sessions -76
1.5-2hour sessions +1515
2.5-4hour sessions +2233
4.5+ hour sessions -2170

So obviously this tells me that the longer I'm playing the worse I'm doing. I think the fact that the 1 hour sessions are -76 has more to do with short term variance because I haven't played that many sessions that last just one hour. What I'd like to do for the rest of March is to try to have no sessions that go over 4 hours unless I'm up a lot, and if a session does go for 4 hours, I need to move my stop loss up to whatever my bankroll is at (i.e. If I've been playing 4 hours, I started with 5000 and now I'm at 6500 at 1/2, I need to reset my stop loss to 5900).

And so far in March, I've gone through and checked how much I've lost by not implementing a stop loss. Basically I went through each session that I lost more than 3 buy ins, and added whatever was additional on top of those 3 buy ins I lost into a total, and I found that I've lost $2163 on top of those sessions. So far for March I'm up 3011 over 86 hours which works out to a 35$ hourly rate, but the crazy thing is, if I add back in that $2163 my hourly almost doubles to 60$. It probably more than doubles since I will be playing fewer hours if I'm actually stop-loss'ing myself at 3 buy ins.

Using the stop loss is something I've never been able to do successfully in the past and it's something I really want to push myself to try to do. The motivation is obviously staring me in the face. I know that in the past I used to play so aggressively that I thought using any kind of stop-loss just didn't make sense because there were many sessions where I started down 3-4 buy ins in the first 20 minutes just because of losing a few flips or running a bluff that didn't work, and I figured my image would pay me back shortly. And it did a decent amount of the time, except for when I wouldn't ever stop, even at -8 or -10 buy ins. Like when I dropped 18 buy ins at 5/10 in like 2.5 hours... Then it also led to sessions where I'd be up 4k then down 6k then even then down 5k then finish up 2k or something like that. That began to happen to me more and more often just before I busted my roll, that's something I just can't allow to happen again and I've got to stay vigilant to avoid it.

One last thing I've done is go through the leak plugging articles that HEM offers. I found three places I felt I could improve:

Currently calling 3bets 37% of the time
Goal - Get it under 30%

Currently folding to flop raises 36% of the time
Goal - Get it above 46%

Currently double barreling 50%
Goal - Get it under 45%

I know this was super long winded, but I'm not writing this for anyone else to read anymore, the purpose is to keep myself on track and to verbalize the things I know I need to work on, because if I don't keep them fresh in my mind, they'll just disappear.

Peter

Wow a poker post. by Fox, March 12

Just wanted some thoughts from some good players on some hands. I moved up to NL200 and so far doing well but there are some situations that seem obvious to me but since NL200 is more agressive curious if i'm approaching them correctly. even the small simple hands that are 6bb or so can cost you profit so it's important for me to just validate i'm not leaking.

+ Show Spoiler +

+ Show Spoiler +

Those above two villians run about 12/10/8 over a small sample. I see no reason to get out of hand with those pairs. Thoughts?

below hand no reason to play slow just go dozer it. no reason to get cute and bet smaller? slow down?

+ Show Spoiler +

against an utg raiser i don't like 3 betting? Should I? Also should i shove this river? What about turn?

+ Show Spoiler +

button against a miniraiser i felt good call preflop is fine. Raise flop? maybe raise turn smaller? I don't think i can flat turn.

+ Show Spoiler +

I felt i played these hands fine, but again when you think that that's when you don't improve. Thanks for the feedback lp members!

Palin / Levi Breakup by k2o4, March 12

Couldn't think of a title short enough to encapsulate all the lols. Yeah, I know, who cares about these poor kids, leave em alone, blah blah. But I can't help but laugh to see more of Palin's hypocracy and BS come to light.

If you dunno what I'm talking about, Bristol Palin (Sarah Palin's Daughter) and Levi Johnston (her baby's daddy) have broken up after months of lies and BS about how they were gonna be married after Bristol's teen pregnancy was revealed during the presidential campaign.

Now's Levi's sister, Mercede is telling all exclusively to Star and the picture she paints of life in Wasilla, Alaska is not a pretty one. Bristol, 18, has virtually cut Levi out of the life of their two-month-old son Tripp.

"Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can't take the baby to our house because she doesn't want him around 'white trash'!" Bristol won't even allow him to watch the baby for a few hours -- unless he's babysitting!

AP Report confirming: + Show Spoiler +

http://sarahpalindirt.com/wp-content/..._levi_johnston_john_mccain_condom.jpg

I always felt bad for the guy cause he knocked up the one girl at the one moment in time where there was no way in hell he could get an abortion. He had to hope and pray that McPalin won so that he could live the good life and get paid to stay with Bristol for the sake of Sarah Palin's image. But he was screwed cause by the time Palin lost it would be too late to get an abortion. So the kid was coming whether he wanted it or not and then the election turned out shitty for him. They've slowly pushed him out and now he's just another "white trash" high school drop out with a kid he will rarely ever see and national fame for some embarrassing shit.

The hypocrisy and BS emanting from the Alaskan governors mansion is just unbelievable, and I have no idea how so many people actually thought so highly of Palin. And no, I'm not saying that the "shotgun wedding" is the one reason Palin is horrible, it's just another thing on a long list of disgusting traits, actions and behavior on her Part that makes me SOOOOO happy that she and McCain didn't win.

Hello LP.

So I took 200 built a 25nl roll. Hoorah!!!!!

I am mixing it up between FR and 6 max because in the end, I just want to learn everything about the game. I thought I was doing awesome until today. 5k Hands, some REALLY spewy plays, and now I'm barely rolled for 25nl when I was at 800 dolars yesterday! MAN! I was looking forward to 50nl.

I have so many things I want to ask and learn, but first I wanna say HELLO!
