Movin' on ... down? by Uptown, March 24

Yupyup, my heater move'up'aments has been nicely balanced by megacooler movedownaments in march.

Combined -26bi's at nl100 (14bis) and nl50 (12bis) starting february 27th (and Just overall swingy, shitty play about 5 days preceding that too), and I'm joining the gang again at nl25 wheeee.

Still way overrolled for nl50 but I don't care. I have zero confidence in my play and I need to somehow find it. If I can't find it at nl100 or nl50, then maybe by chance I can find it at nl25. FFS what do I have to lose. (other than vpps lol)

Here come the graphs and stats!

NL100

*Thoughts*
* Fold to cbet is too low?
* Even looser from BU / CO if I can (depends on villains in blinds)

Also I should ask, "what should I be doing to figure out what I'm doing wrong?" What stats shoudl I look at and fix? What kinds of hands of my own should I be looking over, etcetcetc.

There's an expression that goes something like "A drowning man grasps at even a strand of straw to save him." That's kinda how I feel (ie I will try anything and everything to survive).

Managed a session anyhow! by MasterofLaw, March 24

Despite my fever and headache I, high on painkillers, sat down on six 6max NL25 tables. Pretty quickly I understood that this day would be another test of my "not-tilting-promise". Damn it was sick today also out there. Think I had Khigh flush vs Ahigh two times, got rivered and turned out by three 2outers and a lot of other beats. Today I swear I would have tilted my roll away if I had played on as usual, because I would definitely have climbed up in levels.

I have figured out some kinda reasonable explanation for that behavior now. Think it's me handling losses a bit childish. Can't accept a loss when I think it's an "unfair" one and then I get some idiotic idea about me getting up in levels vs better players and higher stakes where I'll be the fish. In my mind that would even things out, because there i'm doomed to be the one sucking out if anyone does. So if i go up maybe I can be the underdog who sucks out which would fair and even out my unluck on lower stakes.Yes I know the whole reasoning is totally idiotic but I think that's whats been going on in my mind when I have been stuck earlier. The main factor that get's me into this reasoning is that I think I am ahead in 90% of my biggest losing pots.

However, today I managed to stay away from such destructive thoughts, and I continued to hold my promise, and once again turned a session into a profitable one. Think I made pretty exactly 3 bi:s. Happy with that. But still more happy of myself not tilting but instead standing calm and don't get too upset. Eventhough I still think I'm slightly more unlucky than an average ppl =P

Think I have to eat soon, but it's hard to get anything inside your stomach when your ill I think, but I feel what's left of energy in my body is going to be gone in a few hours...Can't exist on snuf (sw. "Snus". Nicotin pouches you put under your upperlip). One pouch is about three times stronger than a cigarette and I (ab)use about 50pouches on a singel day in combination with 1,5l of cola zero. Mix it up with some burgers and there you got my full mealscheme =) Healthy indeed. As Helmuth would have said if I ever sucked out on him, "You won't last for more than 2yrs son, in two years you won't be around anymore". That probably would be true in my case, but not by spewwing my BR away but more probably beacause of all shit I feed my poor body with =)

Bye for now!

i run so good(bad) it scares me by Newblish, March 24

So for the last 3 months ive been a HU regular and am now currently playing nl100. And man do i ever bitch alot, but wow, once again - i have no choice but to get this shit off my back. I doubt ive ever seen anyone run as bad as i do at this limit or at nl50, but enlighten me if i do. This blog again has no real importance other than for me to vent..

hmmm, ok so all the images i have dont upload because they are too big :[

oh well, ill post the top 3 that are linkable -

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/658262

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/658289

http://cakepoker.com/en/HandHistory/D...nd=xczFwMTFxsXGzcTExMbGx4jCxsHGwM0%3d

(according to pokerstove i have 98% equity on the flop..)

eh, some others -

- idiot shoves 82o preflop(no joke), i snap with AK, flop comes two 8's ($200 pot)

- i flop top two, idiot shoves oop, shows bottom pair no kicker, hits back door flush ($200)

- guy no joke flops royal flush. check check, turn gives me 3 of a kind, wasnt a huge pot but this shit adds up

- have a5, flop 558, i bet he calls, turn blank, i bet he shoves i call he shows JJ, river J $200 pot

- 150 BB deep, i open JJ he 3bets, i 4bet, he shoves i snap, he shows 44, flop 4. $300 pot

- i open KQ, he flats, flop KQx, he checks, i bet, he raises big, i shove he calls, he shows A10, turn 10, river 10 ($150 pot)

- I open AJ, he calls, flop AJQ one spade, he bets, i raise, he shoves, i snap, he shows Qs2s, turn spade river spade ($100 pot)

- guy complete button, i raise 4x BB with AJ. Flop A67. i bet he calls, turn 2. I bet 3.5/4 pot he calls, river 2. I bet 2.75/4 pot or so he shoves rest, which was double my river bet, so i obv snap call. He shows k2o. $100 (should i have pot controlled? no - he was a station that never folded EVER).

- ok there are like 20 more hands that i was gonna post, but forget it.. i feel better after getting some of this shit off my back.

On a more serious note - my roll is 5.5kish and soon maybe ill try nl200 shots, though i feel i should have been there ages ago T_T

Peace out

Help! NL10 hates me! by LemOn[5thF], March 24

Sorry for the attention seeking title, but so far I am down 3BI on NL10 despite I feel I play my best ever only on four tables. 3BI is nothing, its mainly due to suckouts and the bloody KK, but still I'd like to know if I also make some fundamental mistakes:

Could you have a look at these hands

Well this is how I suck playing with connectors. Should I play 89s CO?
And maybe give up after the cbet?
+ Show Spoiler +

Now I got roflfucked. There are many people limping big pockets along with loads of trash. Should I just observe the table before I start really playing like this?
+ Show Spoiler +

I should def reraise him on flop right? Would you ever not do it?
This feels like a big big spew at the end of a session that I was winning. 2of a colour and connected board. Bad bad.
+ Show Spoiler +

And just to conclude, one of my nice suckouts.

+ Show Spoiler +

As you could see in hands, I am down 3BI (yeah thats my overall loss) With KK. 3x AA god me dominated, once set and once nice straight. I of course don't care about these loses, what I am interested in are those above hands and how to improve. I really should not tilt so badly at micros, as there is still plenty of fishes.

hallelujah by Zalfor, March 24

i decided that i would put in a good session tonight after i showered and watched tv.

damn was that a good idea.

i ran at 11ptbb/100 for 6k hands and am up 10BIs.

overall i'm up only 250 for this weekend, and even am in the negative if you factor in money lost from playing in the sunday majors...

but this i hope i can continue this domination of the game into the coming days!

Partypoker SUCKS by Critterer, March 24

This is ridiculous

So i deposit $80 onto partypoker to purchase holdemmanager via site transfer. Then find out in order to do a transfer on partypoker you need to print off+sign a form, then scan it back it, along with a scan of a passport/driving lisence and some other shit.

So i'm like k fuck that, ill just cash it back out again

So i try and cash out and now they hit me with:

Dear Mike,

We have received your cashout request for 80.00 USD.

However, we notice that you are cashing out without adequate gameplay
after your recent deposits. This is a bit of a concern for us.

Please note that every player is expected to earn ‘Standard PartyPoints’
equivalent to or more than 15% of the amount deposited (in USD) in their
account before cashing out the same.

jesus fuck these assholes, seriously this is so much hassle ughhhhh

What the fuck is this bullshit? I have to play in order to cash money out that i deposited onto their site?

The end is near... by MasterofLaw, March 24

Was the feeling I woke up with this morning. My head ached, my nose was totally plugged and I was sweating like I don't know what due to my fever. Had to make and very unpleasant call to my lawfirm and for the first time stay home because of a ridiculus cold. NOT FUN! Hope I still have a job in the end of the week ;-)

I really feel for some grinding but I'm too tired. It's kinda the opposite than after a normal 6hour session when the brain and mind is totally fucked and wants an insta quit, but your body and especially your mouse-clicking finger wants to go on. Now brain and mind is screaming for poker but my body doesn'nt follow the commands. I'm still in bed as I write this. Maybe I get up for some kinda breakfast and then go back to bed and play some fewer tables than an ordinary session on my laptop. We'll see...

But if I play, I'll report from that session later on!

Bye for now!

Macs Suck Right? by k2o4, March 23

Or wrong?

Or right?

Got into a "macs suck" argument tonight and had my friend read this article to prove why macs suck: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant

I have my reasons why I don't like macs - god, a long list of em. But what I realized is that I have no idea why people think macs are better. Usually the reasons I hear are that macs are cool and fancy. That may be how some people see them and while I do agree that macs kinda look cool from the outside, that is like the least important thing to me about a computer.

I remember in the late 90's / early 2000's all my friends who were into photography and video editing were getting macs. They told me that macs were better for stuff that had to do with visual things. They never said why and I never asked cause I don't do lots of photo editing or video editing, so I never cared. If those were the only reasons to get a mac, then I sure as hell don't need a mac. In recent years I've heard less of this argument and my best friend in the film industry uses a PC and doesn't like macs, so this may not apply anymore.

The only other argument I ever hear is that macs don't get viruses and that they don't crash. Well I have vista and I don't get viruses and my computer never crashes, so yeah, what's the big deal? I don't have any anti-virus software (fuck you norton) cause it just causes more problems than it fixes. I don't get viruses cause I don't do stupid things with my computer. I realize that if I was an idiot it would be better to have a mac in this case, cause virus creators aim to infect PC's since there's more PC's than Macs, so macs don't have any need to worry about viruses (or something along those lines). But I'm not an idiot, so a mac isn't better for me. As for crashing, that's just not a problem that I ever have to deal with. Again I guess I'm just not an idiot.

So here's the question that I've been working towards - what is the reason a mac is better than a PC? I have never been told one real reason with a solid explanation behind it. Besides it being "trendy" and "fancy", what does it offer? What is so good that it makes up for all the annoyances that come with having a mac? Can anyone tell me? My guess is that the few things that ARE good about a mac are things that I would never use anyway and don't even come close to making up for the downfalls of having a mac. But I may be wrong, so let's hear it mac lovers, what have you got?

Update by BiNK, March 23

So I guess I don't really have to solid a plan...but i've managed to turn my $2.65 into $335 as of today. I have found a pretty good thing in the $3.30 (90 man) double stack turbo knockout tourny's on full tilt. They are so soft and I have been getting a final table every 1 out of 5 i would say...I consistently get to the top 20 in them...just gotta be able to survive as the blinds eat you up to get to that FT and then if you're there with like 25bbs or so you're set (just gotta run well)...So i guess i'll be playing those till about 400-450 with NL10 on the side (gotta get that rakeback haha) and then move up to the 6 dollar ones with a sexy 144 first place money. Overall goal is probably to have $1k by the summer with having cashed out 500 for summer expenses. Well, off to bed as I have a long as day tomorrow with three 80 minute classes.

GL everybody

-Donald

Switching Sites by RJ227, March 23

Well, I've finally had enough of the Cake software. I'll be transferring my roll over to FTP and saying goodbye forever to Cake Poker. It has some positives, but the software is just so incredibly horrendous. The games are also not as easy as they once were, I guess. In addition to the 1000000X better software, I've heard good things about the cash games at FTP.

Also, this will be my first time using a HUD. If anyone would be willing to disperse some info about the nuances of the HUD and what stats to pay attention to, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. If that is not normal to give out basic info, I apologize but like I said, I'm just trying to get a feel for how to use it to my advantage.

Thanks and GL,

RJ227

Year 1: Complete by Yaffie, March 23

Exactly a year ago I deposited $50 on pokerstars. I'm up $3161 cash, approximately $1200 tournaments and ~$400 through bonuses.

Year graph:
+ Show Spoiler +

Overall I'm disappointed. The amount of time I've put in to improving my game definitely doesn't warrant the limit that I'm playing at. I know I'm good enough to be playing NL50, and would be at least taking NL100 shots if I hadn't tilt withdrawn 3 times over the year.

A week ago I felt like I was finally getting somewhere solid - I'd been beating NL25 for a couple of months, albeit at 3-4 BB/100, and I was regularly sitting down at NL50 tables when there were fish. My bankroll at that stage was ~$1700. I was on course for my best month ever - over $500 up before march 15 - and then the doomswitch came on. I did keep playing through it, and broke even for a few days, until I lost over $350 over a couple of sessions. Yet again I took what I had left and withdrew back down to $200, and I find myself grinding NL10

You can see where I've withdrawn in my year graph. How depressing.

Anyway I'll keep going because it is nice having the extra cash but this is most definitely NOT the end I wanted for my first year at PS.

Also I have 20k fpps to spend. I feel like I should get myself something nice now the year is up as I haven't spent a single one as far as I can remember. I'm thinking £50 amazon gift vouchers?

What's it gonna take by ToTehEastSide, March 23

Do you like Ron Paul or oppose abortion? You may be a member of a militia, according to a new report by a government information collection agency.

article
"If you're an anti-abortion activist, or if you display political paraphernalia supporting a third-party candidate or a certain Republican member of Congress, if you possess subversive literature, you very well might be a member of a domestic paramilitary group.

That's according to "The Modern Militia Movement," a report by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC), a government collective that identifies the warning signs of potential domestic terrorists for law enforcement communities."

___________________________________________________________________________

Yes you have described me. Yes I believe in our founding fathers. YES I believe in The Constitution of the United States. Yes I am an independent thinker and am right now a 100% follower, supporter and voter for Ron Paul. Yes I find it outrageous what the federal government is doing today. Yes I believe in a peaceful revolution. Yes I wait for you to do to me what I would never do to you and arrest me for my beliefs. Yes I will stand up and fight for what I believe in. Yes I joined the military 2 months after we invaded Iraq. Yes I believed you. Yes I served overseas for 3 years and was given an honorable discharge for serving my country. Yes I chose not to reenlist. Yes I believe there is a real battle going on and that battle is here not there. Yes I am talking to you federal government. Yes I hope you read this. Yes you have crossed the line.

Today, on March 23, 1777, Patrick Henry, later a noted Anti-Federalist, declared "Give me Liberty or give me Death!"

How incredibly fitting eh?

2 part Ron Paul audio talking about this

hehehe he said polarized ^^
