Another hilarious development of the right wing...
Don't know what I'm talking about? Not your fault, you're probably not a government-hating Fox-News watcher. Weeks back when CNBC's Rick Santelli went nuts on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, he called for a Chicago "Tea Party" to protest the government "rewarding bad behavior" with bank bailouts and mortgage relief.
People were psyched at the prospect of reenacting the centuries-old technique first used to protest unjust taxation, and have planned "Tea Party" or "Tea Bag" protests across the country for tax day, April 15.
If the news stories popping up every ten minutes from local outlets across the country are any indication -- stories about tea parties planned in places like Palm Beach and Allentown and Reno and Missoula -- there are going to be a hell of a lot of tea parties on tax day, with tens of thousands of people participating. But just as Rick Santelli seemed not to have thought out his impassioned rant against government bailouts -- the rant that got the whole movement started -- there seems to be a bit of a struggle within the tea party movement to control its message.
Anti-immigration activists have reportedly been rebuffed by one of the groups helping coordinate tea parties nationwide. The tea party in Burleson, Texas might wind up sodden with Texas secessionists. Newt Gingrich has thrown his support behind the tea party movement, saying in a press release that the "American people are fed up with Washington's irresponsible spending spree." Nevermind that Gingrich supported the financial industry bailout.
Of course Fox News has jumped on the bandwagon HARDCORE, with Hannity, Beck, Cavuto and Van Sustren signing up for live full day coverage of the events and encouraging everyone to take part...
Fox News is making a mockery of its famous slogan, Media Matters says:
Despite its repeated insistence that its coverage is "fair and balanced" and its invitation to viewers to "say 'no' to biased media," Fox News has frequently aired segments encouraging viewers to get involved with "tea party" protests across the country, which the channel has described as primarily a response to President Obama's fiscal policies.
The Media Matters item goes on to beat up Fox for dozens of recent on-air statements it views as too favorable of the tea party movement, such as Glenn Beck's exhortation to "celebrate with Fox News" on tax day.
Of course they've started some fear mongering claiming that the "liberals" are planning to "infiltrate" and "sabotage" their tea parties... all because huffpost has asked for citizen reporters to attend and cover local tea parties. That's right, they will be at the party and then writing down what they see and submitting that to a website - serious sabotage and infiltration!!!
Fox News' Neil Cavuto reported Tuesday that the tax day tea party movement is being "infiltrated" by well-organized liberals out to destroy it.
"Only eight days before a nationwide tea party, some over-caffeinated crashers aiming to lay waste to it," Cavuto said. "Reports of very well-organized infiltrators trying to mix in and rain on this parade. Talk about taxing."
...
"How seriously do you take these threats?" Cavuto asked one of the tea party organizers he had on his show.
"Honestly, Neil, we don't take them very seriously at all."
I feel like this all kinda ties back to a previous blog post of mine where John Stewart took on this right wing epidemic of "Baracknophobia"
I was down 6BIs yesterday but I managed to get it back over the zero mark and ended up +1/2BI
Took 7.97 hours, 4647 hands to breakeven again. Result: +$3.75 at the end :D
Down 8BIs and ended up grinding.. grinding and grinding... now breakeven again.
8.2 hours, 4223 hands later.... Result: +$3.85 (+$0.1 from yesterday.. improvement? hell yes!)
Those losses were mostly from bad play (plus a few coolers) but with help from silver, R_I and byrnesam, I managed to fix those leaks :D. Hopefully I'll continue to improve on my play with better results to show!
I'm kind of bummed to see I'm made most of my money in FR. Are my 6 max stats ok? I feel like I'm doing pretty well in 6max, but maybe I should FR if it's more profitable.
I've seen some threads (on 2p2) where people compare chess to poker and find the posts ranging from painfully obvious to not very thoughtful all the way to pure trash.
I'm posting this short clip, not to provoke a discussion on the similarities between poker and chess, but simply because it touches on themes universal to competition and self-improvement in general. With respect to poker, I think it's a good reminder that we should:
- Keep challenging ourselves even when we're having success
- Review winning sessions along with the losing ones
- Review winning hands along with the losing ones
- Learn from our opponents mistakes even when we win or play a hand profitably
- Look for opponents mistakes we missed even when we win the hand
- Look for where we could have made better plays, even in spots where we won
- Look for mistakes in our own play that our opponent may have missed
My apologies if you took the 2 minutes to watch and felt it was a waste of your time.

FUCK MY LIFE, I am just unable to win in these games, they read me like a book, they call me with pair of deuces on a 92J board in a 3bet pot, just amazing.
So now I'm once again able to grind. Tried redbet again yesterday for the first time in a very long time. Can be honest and say that I rather quickly got reminded of one of the main reasons that I'd quit last time, damn I almost not can stand the incredible ugly B2B-skin. But they also offers you to play at Bossmedia which is more of my likings. One great thing is anyhow that b2b offers hu as low as nl10, which I consider to be a huge advantage compared with other sites.
How did I manage my first session then?
Was a bit swingy, pendled between 0 and 4bi + I think. Lost about 1,5bi hu just before I'd call the day, so my first session left my with a tiny little profit of 13E, but hey, it's still a win ;-). A pretty sad thing is that I don't feel much for grinding at the moment, how too much other things in my life and mind that takes too much of my limited brain-capacity which make me not play some kinda A-game. Will be great however just to eat, sleep, relax and maybe play during the eastern, if I can have a holiday now. Just going to walk up to one of my bosses for some kinda new task, so have to grasp the extent of it before I decide wether to be off duty or not...
So I have been horribly depressed all week. I took an 8 buyin shot at NL25 6max and ran horribly. I was up a nice 3 buyins the first day, then just ran into donks calling me down to the river with ace high, tag's c/r'ing me allin with 2nd pair and getting rivered, and at least one of my usual tilted rage calls like "wtf omg you sucked out on me I have to call and let everyone see how stupid you are!"
So I have 80 bucks left to my name. Hadn't played in 2 days. Just that tilted. Couldnt even look at the game. Couldnt even help my g/f play NL2 because I would give her tilted advice. Then I hit that point, I gave up. I said fuck it, lets put this bankroll on the line. I win as long as I dont run bad. So DONT RUN BAD. I decide to play fuckin NL50 HU. I actually feel I have strong potential at HU, but thats another story. Anyway, I sit down with an unknown and....well I run good.
He sat out on me after 2nd allin. I gave him a good minute to reload. I figured he's a reg and is bum hunting. I once had someone tell me to gtfo AFTER they took me for $20. So maybe they sensed I could do some damage. Anyway, now my bankroll is $180! WEEEEE!! what ever shall I do?! Take another shot at NL25? Take a shot at 6max NL50? Invest it all in 3.40 turbo's?
I think I'm just gonna sit on it a couple more days. Ponder my existence. B/c I still feel horribly depressed and like a big poker failure right now.
so i hadnt played in a while so I asked my friend to ship me 15 bucks so fuck around some on UB, he plays nl200 so he just gave them to me and said have fun.

pokerstars concierge/support is great!by whamm!, April 08
I was kinda on a slump and hating poker/life a little, then i see the car i bought and i felt really upset why i bought it and didnt just wait for a couple months before using concierge and getting it for free (FML if forgot). So i make an email to pokerstars if they could allow me to use it 3 months from now or more(fingers crossed) and when i woke up this morning they send me this reply:
Hello Isidro,
Yes, we will allow this receipt to be sent in within 4 months. Thank you
for the email.
Regards,
ScottY

this month's update, went on a semi-heater on 50nl then get clobbered some at 100nl to typical moving up welcome coolers , hope i retake control and won some more up to the end of this month so i can get to grinding fpps for the concierge ( at least cover half of the car's price is good enough)
I requested a cashout from PS 2 weeks ago and the paper check arrived in the mail on monday, so far so good, I deposited the next day and this morning the funds were available in my account so I went to amazon and bought a netbook and some other stuff, a few hours later I went to check my account again and the check that i thought was cleared got held by a reason the bank couldn't tell me, my account is now negative $500,00 and I'm kinda worried even tho the bank manager told me this is normal and that if the check clears there won't be any problemas if it doesn't I'm gonna get screwed both with the bank and amazon.
How long does your PS checks take to clear normally ?
This one I got is from Canada (Imperial Capital Bank) and my bank is BOA.
Well it looks like I'm on my way to falling short of my goals for April which were:
1)150k hands - only around 18k so far
2)15k vpp - this really goes hand in hand with my volume so bleh
3)$2k profit - this part is actually somewhat promising as I'm up $421 with so little volume put in.
I need to step it up a lot if I want to achieve this, or come close to it. I'm still comtemplating take the $650 bonus when I hit 50k fpp's(currently have 48k so in the next day or so hopefully), but if I can make my goals without it, and move up to NL50 without it and take advantage of the $1500 at 100k or better yet just hold out for 250k which would be sweet especially if I can stay at nl50 and not have to drop back down to NL25.
Overall I'm happy with my play so far this month despite some pretty donktastic mistakes and unbelievable 5 outers.
My table selection has really been taken to the next level. I've been waitlisting the usual juicy 9 player tables and then joining a bunch of shorthanded tables, as well as starting a few pot limit tables. Over a pretty small sample pot limit seems to be where a good chunk of my winnings are coming from. I think that the loose passive fish flock there because of some sort of fear that the no limit players will push all-in and not allow them to draw.
The shortstack tags dont seem to bother with pot limit which is good for me because I make money off of fish. My guess is that its because they cannot push their whole stack in over a pot sized open, which means they will have to play a flop after 3betting, granted they're basically committed but the whole reason behind playing shortstacked is to minimize the amount of mistakes you make, and playing flops in 3bet pots is not really something these guys are comfortable with, at least these horrible shorties at NL25.
Not sure why more regulars don't play PL25 but its fine by me. I barely saw any regs at the PL tables today which just means more fish.
I cant wait until NL50 when I can start opening a bunch of 50bbmin tables. I really wish that stars would get these goin for all levels.

Ok well I sat down and thought about the comments in my last blog post and came up with a new br management plan. I think using it will be fine since I'm not completely horrible at the micros and the sweet sweet ftp rakeback helps if im breaking even.
Basically: When you have enough for 20 buyins, play that level then drop down when you are down to 30 buyins of prev level. Then grind back to 20 buyins for next level etc.
I have about 200 atm so I'll be playing NL10 to try and reach 500 for NL25. If i drop down to 150, I'll drop to NL5 to try and grind back to 200 for NL10. If I reach 500 then I will play NL25 till I drop down to 300 then grind NL10 again with 30 buyins.
Hope that makes sense and maybe u'd want to try this BR management too if ur grinding up the micros. I think it's pretty safe(u start with 30 buyins when you move down) if you don't suck ass and don't mind moving up and down quite a bit (potentially).
So my plan is to grind up to 1k with this br management system and then reevaluate.
