been a while, tl;dr by locoo, September 16

Man I didn't know taking care of a family was so hard, time consuming.... and expensive.

Now i understand why most people is fucked up with their badly paid regular jobs, shit is expensive yo, everything is expensive and everything is spend, spend spend !! spend on health care, spend on food, spend on apartment, spend on swimming lessons, baby clothes, tv, cable, own clothes, gas, nanny, etc, etc, etc... and when u have 2 other lifes depending on you, its all x3!!

These past months has been crazy on me, they started off pretty nicely, with my first +100k month in poker, preceeded by 40k, 50k, 20k ones. My shots at 25/50 and the "little nosebleed" 50/100 hasn't been that great tho, and i've practiced great table selection for the most part, i could just never really get anything going.

Another problem with my ascension to higher stakes has been the lack of bankroll. It's not that i'm underolled per se. I have had +250k bankrolls more than once, even tho now my biggest one is barely 55k. The first time i reached 250k br, noiqpoker moved from ipoker to entraction, and I hated the software, so I cashed it all out, and never redeposited (I used 12k from another ipoker site I had money in to regrind back), few months later had 250k+ again, and i got "kicked" from the site I played at (long story, did nothing wrong tho) so again i was left with no main bankroll to play the biggest limits.

So now I have 4 or 5 "tiny" bankroll on various sites, 20k on FT, 35k stars, 55k ipoker, 20k some italian site. I am aware I should still be very thankful for my success, even tho it's by far a great one, the incredible thing about poker is that you can be the 10000th best player and still be winning good ammount of money for regular life standard.

I decided a long time ago that I wasn't gonna stay at one stake and was gonna move up the stakes every chance I got and try to reach the biggest tables i could reach, and I can only feel just a bit sad that I could never really try and play the 25/50 for long and try hard to beat it, and keep moving up. Of course no1 knows what could've happened, i could hit a very bad downswing and lose all my br on tilt or w/e, but still i would've loved to have at least one or two months to try. I feel very jelous of the likes of Deldar and nutshino to name a few, not because i don't think they deserve the success and I do, but because they can put a lot of hours into the game, very smoothly, and win tons while being concerned only of the poker game. I just feel like I've been unlucky and a bit lazy in this respect when I did have the time to put in insane ammount of time.

Now I have much more responsabilities and I have to spend much much more money, it's hard to dedicate as much time as I would like to see my bankroll grow. Now i'm actually looking for bussiness oportunities much more than trying to better my poker game.

Anyway I have to bath my little son now, it's actually pretty fun and he's a very amusing little guy, so i'll leave you guys with a couple brag pics

Small Brag by Jamie217, September 15

Just need to throw a small brag out there as my september has started off like shit so far.... was 15k below ev in my first 9 or 10k hands of 5 10, and down about that much total

So I dropped back to 3 6 for a bit to get some confidence and make some money... with school going on and everything being busy I need to stay away from big swings right now so today was nice

http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2081/sept15th.jpg

Im also considering starting to train in Muay Thai kickboxing but its gonna take up a lot of time while I try and grind and go to school at the same time so I am still undecided

lazy, but running good by Chobo1, September 15

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/49ca4.DisplayGraph_6max.png

i've only been playing 1-2 hour/day this month. playing the $13 6max turbos.

I really want to get the $1k instant cash bonus, and to do this i need to make 62K fpps. So i need to make something like 4,445 fpps/day for the rest of this month; so i need to now be playing at the $25 6max turbos and play 127 sngs/day.

fml how am i gonna do that when i've just been playing 1-2 hours/day!!! Time to stop partying and start grinding imo.

Wobbly's Housewarming, Deldar, results by Babs, September 15

I'm on study leave atm so what better way to avoid studying than to write a blog.

Wobbly recently bought an apartment, which resulted in the customary housewarming on the weekend. The biggest attraction was of course Deldar's appearance! Deldar was up in Syd for a Scrabble tourny so he dropped in for a bit of frivolity. We played some live 1/2 NLHE and NL Omaha and I ended up a buy-in or so, CRUSHED DELDAR! Other than that it was pretty tame, lots of Asians playing Wii haha. I then had about 2hrs sleep and played WCOOP with Wobbly which was just an epic fail on both our parts

running goood by hansen jr., September 15

up 7,1k already for september so im ahead of pace for my goal which is 10k this month. Running like 1k or so above ev, ship it. Rolled for 3/6 already on ipoker which i deposited like 4k on for 1,5 months ago or so, don't think ill play that until next month though. Hopefully i can keep this up obviously slacking with hands though, has 60k as a goal but already 7,5k behind that pace so ill have to hit the monstergrind very soon

nfl football~~ by jasper5408, September 15

i'm a sports fan. i'm grateful that i can now watch football. because i was really getting tired of baseball.

btw how popular is american football outside of us? (specifically ca + europe)

anyway some comments:
1) weird 1st monday night football where both teams that should have won both lost =.= i feel sorry for the bills and the raiders.

2) when brady got the ball back with 2 min that was kinda fun to watch. i mean as soon as the pats got the turnover i pretty much just said "brady time gg." its really an amazing thing to watch. he's such a clutch performer.

3) i always thought t.o was a big douche but after watching the t.o show and seeing some more of his personality he doesn't seem to be as big of an asshole as the media made him out to be.

4) football seems a lot more even this year. i think lots of teams can reach the superbowl so i am excited for this season.

5) i'm a greenbay packers fan (as well as a brett favre fan although he's being quite an ass). i think the packers can do extremely well this year and i hope the best for mr. rogers.

5) favre looked good and i'm happy for percy harvin as well ( i go to uf). peterson can single handedly win games by himself. the vikings should be a potentially fun team to watch.

6) can't help but root for sanchez because of his sick stellar performance. such a joke that stafford gets the bigger contract. i hope sanchez can keep on performing at a high level. also i always like jay cutler's cockiness but he blew it up the asshole last night. please be stellar again.

7) the clear tier 1 teams i think are the packers/giants/pats/chargers/steelers and i think the tier 2 teams can very easily bump into the superbowl as well vikings/eagles/colts/ravens/saints

8) i think the cardinals/cowboys/titans have like no chance despite doing rather well last year.

and just a fun fact a friend texted me:
The following coaches are now out of the NFL: Tony Dungy, Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Mike Holmgren and Marty Schottenheimer. Combined record: 4,512-175 (approximate). Meanwhile, the following coaches are still in the NFL: Dick Jauron, Brad Childress, Tom Cable, Wade Phillips. Combined record: 109-978 (approximate)

The best thing about football???

basketball season is right right around the corner^^

p.s congratulations to del porto i saw you win against nadal and roddick in the us. open series smashing the ball flat fantastically. it's great to see a different type of player competing in tennis.

Last Chance by iPoops, September 15

Giving poker one last chance. I'm having biiiig problems controlling my emotions and hopefully sharing my results on a daily basis will help me keep my shit together.

I'd like to think I know the basics of poker. I can't afford to keep depositing money anymore after going bat shit mad and tilting my entire BR away every single week. So this is it. If I can't get my emotions under control I'm out. I'd hate a 9-5 job. I can't even start to describe how much it disgusts me, working 9-5, 5 days a week until I'm 65. I just don't wanna do it, but the way things are going I'm not really having much choice.

So here I go, starting at NL2. Will be 4 tabling. Wish me luck!

BR: $50

Prologue by req, September 15

Hello,

I suppose it is polite to present myself before posting, so...

I, like most of you, consider myself to be a student. Both life and pokerwise. I am, by human measures, relatively young, on my way to graduate this school year. By now, I am well worried by my future education. Having been talented to understand most of things at its basis, but not going any further in any of them caused (and still causes) me severe difficulties in decision making. I quite like biology, adore chemistry, having no troubles seeing blood -> I should study medicine. And yes, I would like that. BUT-- here in Czech republic, it takes you six years to become a doctor. Literally. You are glad to have like seven hours to sleep, some time to eat. The rest of time you simply study. I think it is pretty much the same everywhere around the globe. To sum it up, medicine costs you hobbies, friends and a it definitely won't bring you the fulfilling life of a student. You really have to know-- "That's what i allways wanted. Being a doctor is my commission." --This is what I am not really sure of. On the other hand, I like english, french and am open to learn new languages. I wouldn't mind to study them further. People say "no good". Everyone reminds me of the fact that english, as well as any other language, should rather be a medium than a target. Basically, I should choose a specialization. And I hell don't know what it should be.

I enjoy sports, rather individual than collective ones (I am a loner), recently I started running on a regular basis, it helps me to deal with lots of problems-- I recommend it to everyone. I played the piano for like nine years, not really learned anything, but I can play some pieces. I like drawing and painting, despite my drawings really sucks. There are few things I have done before, all of them slowly started to bore me, except poker.

-

Ad poker: I suck. I haven't ever been any good poker player, always bored by reading articles, searching for videos. Playing is just more fun. The main reason why I decided to drop these few lines here was to motivate me. I write this blog only for myself, because I really can't give advices since I haven't got any. All attempts to become a fluent, consistently winning microstakes grinder failed. This is a leap. I want to reveal myself, really THINK of my game, share my humble ideas and grow. I haven't got those precise "balla" needs, of course, I want people to admire me and blah blah blah, but I think I can be pretty modest. I also do not agree with most of poker players' excentric lifestyles. This life doesn't suit me. Poker is for me a mirror to myself, throwing all my frauds, mistakes right in my face. If I will be able to deal correctly with poker, then life will be much easier for me. I miss discipline, patience and wisdom. I tend to tilt, I am irrational most of time and my mood is a bit result oriented, which... just sucks.

I "grind" microlimits fullring (12tabling 9max 0.1/0.25$ at stars). I can say I am a winner, I play like 10/8 with aggresion of 2.5, beating the game for 8 BB/100-- when I am not on tilt. Tilt decreases my winrate to 2-2.5 BB/100. When I tilt, I tilt just badly, but there is a lot reading on chronic tilters so I believe you figure out what a fish I am. End of stories.

- My bankroll is (after a major downswing/tilt) currently at 25 BIs.
- Will play for maximum of 90 minutes per day, 12 tables.
- If even a slight sign of tilt occurs, I WILL stop after losing 2.5 BIs in a row (I know this can maybe sound unreasonable but it can prevent things).
- I will put a post in my blog every week, which will contain my game analyse, thoughts and questions.
- I will also post hands daily (five most interesting hands of the day).
- I will comment on other people's hands only if I will find my tip/advice/commentary good enough.
- I will do my best at other aspects of life. Every single thing is far more important than poker, this is a crucial thruth I believe many players (inc. me) underestimate.

That is all for now. I do not expect anyone read this all the way to here, if anyone did, I bow before him. I would appreciate any advices related to hands I am going to post/my game/stats I am going to post/anything else.

Regards, req

ul? by voodoouser, September 15

I just wonder what does 'ul' means?
I saw more and more people saying that in the chat box when wining a hand.
I hope it's not meaning 'you lose' because it would be so lame.

September so far O_O by Night2o1, September 15

Oh september, I was supposed to bust my ass grinding the whole month except for this last weekend (well, thurs - Mon), but instead my stupid stupid friend convinced me to go camping with him, so I'm going to be gone from this Wed - Tuesday. (<3, shitbag)

So its kind of crapping on my poker/real life goals.. and thus I am changing my sept. goal to hitting 20k very well-played hands while 4tabling. I really need to stay on the ball for a couple of solid months soon though, and get my ass up to nl200-nl400 sooner rather than later if I want to call myself anything resembling a success though. I'm also once again spent wayyyyyy too much money this month.

And so to alleviate that I'm leaving Vegas in 2 weeks for an unknown number of months, to go back home, where friends and new people from all over the U.S. won't be visiting for their vacations, and in what is a small aside to the amount I spend with friends.. my basic living expenses will drop by 500-1k a month... Thus saving me from going busto from having too much damn fun

Anyway yeah, I have been working on getting my game back on track and I feel like I've made a lot of progress (and pray I haven't just ran good ) in the past 3 weeks or so. Starting early october I'm really going to be pushing this and getting myself to midstakes online as I am really sure I can handle it with a bit more improvement, I just need to get my thumb down on my bankroll since it keeps running away from me.

This month has been a little bit swingy, and I haven't played much, but here it is:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/fb628.sept15.jpg

Finally I want to give a shout to everyone I've met and have communicated with on LP.

P.S. sorry I spam commas so hard, my writing is on approximately the 3rd grade level these days.
