starting to win again (sometimes lol) by whamm!, November 03

sometimes is better than absolutely nothing it seems for me. no complaints though, ive been rebuilding my roll and shooting for that 3k milestone this month and if i really get into a nice groove and finish hot before november ends, might even go for a 100k vpp month next month just to get my br back to 20k which will be epic since this year ive done so many retarded things and tilted/emo'ed for months and months which i really can't afford to do being old and all lol. paid for all my debts practically before i started rebuilding and it feels good to finally be debt free again. id like to personally thank handbanana21 for helping me out rebuilding, i will not forget jlost88 and yadadameen21 if ever i quit poker and find something else to do after this year. stocks is doing so-so and i haven't really gotten into it seriously yet, maybe next year. how the fuck do i make paragraphs here btw?

i hope kevin can sweat me sometime when i move back up to 100nl, how about it kevin? :D

October is gone, it's no shave november v.5k hands by SpeedyJack, November 03

Started off the month with my bankroll at a new high, I decided that when I got to 30BI I'd make a move to NL100. I ran really well at NL50, both 6max and HU, and quickly hit my goal. I moved up after two or three days and played and ran really well at NL100 and in the first 10 days and 1000 hands (sick volume) I was up 10BI for the month. I then ran into some standard variance, but ran well again. I broke even for the next 1.5 or 2k hands and got very confident and decided to try some HU NL100, but that went pretty poorly even though I was pretty happy with most of my play. I definitely made some mistakes but I definitely plan on trying again. I didn't play for ~2 weeks in the middle of the month, and when I came back the downswing continued, I went all the way down to almost even for the month when I realized that something had changed. At the beginning of the month as in October and September I felt I'd really been playing excellent poker, but I got too confident in my play and just started playing roboticly and not thinking anything through. This definitely precipitated my downswing. I ended up running well for the last thousand hands and got back into thinking everything through. I even had one guy chew me out for taking so long on my decisions, I made sure to time out my last hand at the table. So here's the graph.
+ Show Spoiler +

As is pretty obvious I didn't put in any volume at all, 5k hands means almost nothing because it's just too small, but the feeling of confidence I gained during those hands felt awesome because I was a little nervous when I moved up to NL 100. The biggest reason for the weak volume was being out of town for two ultimate frisbee tournaments. I had a great time at both, my underarmor tights performed amazingly, they are the warmest things ever. This weekend I'm going to be running a 5k for the first time, I've never done one before so hopefully I can run an okay time. Indoor practices Tu/Th from 9:30pm till midnight also start this week, so I'm going to be sleeping in on Wednesdays and Fridays for a while.

With any luck I'll be able to stay focused whenever I play poker and put in some volume to speak of this month. Shoutout to my boys at IPC, my floormates, and my homie across the pond.

p.s. adding "aments" to every word is not clever or funny

p.p.s you won't be seeing me posting in the medium stakes forum because i was banned for telling an NL100 player that playing 100 hands at a certain stake doesn't grant you poker skills that someone playing below them doesn't have and apparently he had some pull with a mod. To be fair baal said that he would unban me when I played medium stakes, but when I PMd him he demanded proof as if I would make that up
i know baal doesn't read my blog, but rofl good work mate http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/nickos.gif

Heureka by LemOn[5thF], November 03

I think Chewits got it pretty accurately
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/762278

And I can't control it when I am tired.

So my plan is to either :

A) not play tired
B) Get rid of my addictive gambol personality

I am working on A, any suggestions on how to tackle B) are welcome.

Apology by VeGeTTa89, November 03

I feel bad about calling out hotty, and got a msg from her husband today. Just wanted to say sorry and all. I still have my skeptisism about the whole situation. But in the end to be honest with all of you I dont give a FUCK about whether there real or not. Yeh im new to the site? So what? I was just trying to get my opinion out there. And to newbsai I gotta tell you man. You are overreacting to the whole thing. No one on Lp or TL or any site for the matter is going to hold anything against you in RL, if your wife is real. The only reason they would hold anything against you is if she was FAKE. Anyways i wish you and your wife the best of luck with poker and everything else and hope you make it someday.

Octooooooooober by Jamie217, November 03

Well October started off amazing and did not end so well... I guess I cant be too annoyed at a +25kish month but still it coulda been a pretty big one :/

Also turned 21 in oct which wasnt a huge deal since I live in Canada but basically got blackout drunk and got in a fight with a bouncer halfway through the night...

Just got back from visiting kings/nutsinho/altrum and jem87 in Boston which was pretty good finally got to go out in the states without using a fake id lol.. Boston is a pretty cool town and their new 10k a month apartment is ridiculous

So here is Oct:

http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/8176/oct09stats.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/oct09stats.jpg/1/w1060.png
http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7796/oct09graph.jpg http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/oct09graph.jpg/1/w1353.png

Then to start of Nov I lost KK vs AK for the CL of the sunday mill with about 250 ppl left which sucked and then later in the night lost about 10k in a soft 25 50 game running like shit to have my first 5 fig losing day... about -15k overall

So i have quite the grind ahead of me to get all that back and finsih + for novemeber ah well

November by DustySwedeDude, November 03

Only played one session, won a bi or so on PLO600 but lost a bit more on PLO1k and broke even in NL1k and NL2k. Made a couple of big laydowns in the omaha, and unless people tried to bluff me of full houses a lot I think they were good. Didn't get any hands at all pretty much but the tables in NL were fairly tight so it worked out anyway. Lost a couple of medium pots to joe though, which kinda sucked. I had basically fucked with him a ton post flop and won a lot of small pots and I think he noticed since he started to 3bet a lot and I got into a really crappy spot with what vs most other 10/20 regs would be a rivershove when I slowplayed a very big hand pf, got a good flop and ended up folding to joe's third barrel when everything missed and I could only put him on like 4 combos for value. In retrospect I should probably call for a split but I just got this superweird feeling and decided to make what I'd like to call a "brain fart"-fold. I dunno, that kinda sucked.

Feels good to not play so much though, going to lectures which are somewhat interesting and have started watching prison break, which seems better then expected.

I've become a huge postflop nit by T8Suited, November 03

I've become so nitty that people couldn't stack me, or at times don't want to play for stacks even when they have cracked my overpairs.

On the other hand I miss so much values e.g. I wouldn't put in a raise on a semi-scary boards with a limped set.

Overall it results in a low varianace, modest winning style so I guess that's okay.

So how do I not get stacked?

GG! re? by craimeariver, November 03

hey guys just wanted to introduce myself here. im a 23 year food engineer student from germany. been lurking for a while and decided to use this place to brag/whine about my poker restart.
i played for like 6months or so in 2007 , mostly 25nl and some in the end 50nl. made like 2k but lost the passion and eventually had to cash out all of it cause of real life circumstances.
deposited like 10-20 bucks a few times over the last 2 years just to satisfy the farha in me and donked it off immediately.
but now i want to take it seriously again. deposited 50$ to PS and started grinding 2nl the last week with the intention to move up to 5nl at 100$. i started running hot and now im already at 5nl - YAY to myself!
heres the graph of last weeks micro grindaments:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/3531c.october.jpg

im planning to grind NL5 to 250$-300$ and move my roll to FTP to get rakeback. that would definately benefit me , right? or are there flaws with FTP nowadays? suggestions about that are welcome...

thats it! be nice to me LP!

First decent run on PLO micro stakes by superfashion, November 02

I'll be the first to admit I'm not good at PLO, but there are some seriously bad players handing their money to me tonight. This is my first time grinding a decently long session at PLO and I'm pretty happy with my results thus far. I'll edit in a few hands in a minute.
