Volume 001: New Beginningsby GTBMuckface, November 15
Yes, yes they do.
Hey Guys, what's goin on I'm Matt and welcome to FLUX, a spot to find some new music to fill your otherwise quiet afternoon and evening. I listen to mostly House and variations of house such as minimal, progressive, fidget, electro and tech house. I also enjoy proper techno, some trance, and very seldom some Drum N Bass. Hope you enjoy.
For this volume, I'm going to upload some new tracks i've been listening to lately as well as some classic sets I enjoy, both new and old.
I will try to provide download links as well as stream links, but this will not always be the case.
Progressive:
This track was just released on www.beatport.com, but this version was ripped from a recent Armvin van Buurin ASOT, anyways, I'm really enjoying this one recently.
Another recent release on www.beatport.com, really enjoying this one lately and this track has been spotted in sets by several DJs at the moment.
House:
A new remix of an old classic by Armand van Helden, this remix by Starkillers really is quite funky and adds a new twist on an old classic while still remaining true to the original production.
Sets:
These sets are all available to be streamed for free by www.mixriot.com, a site I have been a member of for many years and pay a nominal fee (30$/year for unlimited downloads).
Deadmaus EM 2008-07-19
for any Deadmau5 fan that hasn't heard this before, his Essential Mix from 2008, which won him over so many fans outside of North America.
Sasha EM 1996-07-28
considered to be one of Sasha most mind blowing sets, although he has dozens, this one stands out as one of his finest along with the sky club sets.
Nick Warren Kiss100 2009-03-06
This is Nick Warren's Digweed Transitions set from this past March. Nick creates incredible melodies and harmonies only few are capable of mastering.
Check Back regularly for new posts and updates as I will try to make this a weekly thing, Enjoy!
FLUX is a place to come every week to find electronic music, both new and old for your listening pleasure. Feel free to post comments with sets/tracks you enjoy and I'll do my best to provide feedback/promotion towards tracks that are deemed worthwhile by the masses. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Not playing this abomination of a game until i graduate from university.
Its one thing to run bad almost every session, but its another to run to the point of statistical impossibility in terms of bad luck that ive experienced these last two months.
I just.. refuse to take it anymore and i need to take a three week break from this game. Im just so sick of getting 2/3 outtered every 4/5th hand and losing every single pot that im ahead. Im just not going to endure the emotional stress of having to deal with my bad luck for awhile.. its enough. There are only so many times people can say "focus and be patient" or "improve your game" because eventually youd think that even if i was playing bad that a bad beat would swing my way eventually, but it seriously never happens(yes, i realize everyone says this when they are angry, but i wish i could emphasize it more - I am serious - I literally can not remember when i sucked out with a 2/3 outter since the summer - which was my KK vs AA preflop).
Anyway, whatever! Enough of my self pity over this shit. I think this time off is going to be really worth it. All of my exams are coming, not to mention a few gigantic papers so i really dont want to have to deal with any stress this game may cause. It may help me to really look at this game and realize what i want to achieve with it in the long run anyway.
Ill still hang out here until then though. Good luck everyone.
So I realized that updating my blog on a weekly basis is just too much work. I really wanted to get some pics of the beach house I live in now (moved in at the end of August) but I lost my camera which sucks. Anyways, Evan and I moved up stakes in life and now we live in the WindanSea area in La Jolla with TeeJayOrTJ. Other than that life has been chill past few months. There are a ton of online poker players (Like 20-25 players that I know of) living here in San Diego and a bunch of us have taken up golf, so recently I've been golfing atleast 1-2 times a week which is a blast except for the fact that I'm averaging losing ~$500 in prop bets everytime I go out with the boys. I'm a sick betting fish apparently, but atleast my golf game is improving. First round of golf I shot a 180 (I'm sure most people would just give up counting strokes, but I wanted to see how bad I really was) but now I'm averaging around 125 strokes from the middle tees which is nice. I've even shot my first legit birdie already!
Been playing mostly live the past 2 months and been crushing until the last week of October where I pretty much ran like dog shit and probably didn't play my best while running that bad. I had a set goal on what I thought I could maintain monthly at Palomar (the cardroom I mostly play at in San Diego) and I was on track until my very tragic last week of October. Sucks to run bad on one of the very few times the No Limit game runs with $10/$20/$40 blinds. Lucky for me, my next door neighbor is | Scubba | the cap NL wizard, and watching him play & crush Ivey at $500/$1000 cap NL got me motivated to play online once again. Actually ended up learning a lot about playing vs short stacks from watching one of his sessions and listening to how he thinks about the game. So far thou, my own online en devours have been slow, as I feel like playing live vs mostly fish has set me back on the learning curve. Been watching a bunch of videos and studying up so hopefully I can return strong! Other than that, I got myself into a relationship and it's cool caz my girlfriend is basically awesome in everyway. For some reason, my mind set is on such an even keel no matter how bad or good I run and I feel it's mainly caz of her.

these sessions are going to be the death of me

river 5 im like oh my god LOL AK PLZ? YESSSS he check shoves over me and shows KK GOOD HAND SIR
then JJ on J102r v AQ 400bb deep each, ai on flop retard binks on the river to destroy my good day and bringing me back down 3$ for the day
so ragedASFO0FVZXIOVBZOIVBZXV

A
SNPZXNPNZBBBBBBBBBBBB
EDIT:
i'm calm now after i ran outside for a while. i looked like a retard just rage running into the wind with my hoodie on flapping all over the place. WHATEVER IM BETTER NOW
and i guess some ppl are right, just need to focus on playing good and not worry about results....just sometimes its easy to steam when you're like LOL EZ GAME!! :DDDD and then for the next 5 mins you get shit on by the deck. D:
So when I restarted this blog I promised to grind back to 400nl and stop merely playing the minimum to allow me to be a drunk drug addict. Well after 2 days I went and partied for a week solid. I just really don't have the motivation cos I find 200nl very boring and I don't really need the money and I am very bad at focusiing on the future; delayed pleasure and all that. Anyway, I couldn't find an excuse to go out tonight so I grinded hard. 6.3k hands is a lot for me since I only play 6-8 tables. Here is my graph:
I'm quite pleased with it. At the beginning I got about 6 buyins above ev, and then went on a sudden bad run to two buyins below. Now I know how irrelevant this is, but I am very pleased that my level of play did not deteriorate at all in that little run. I'm now only 8 buyins away from moving up, but I'll probably withdraw maybe a k beforehand. Whatever, I think I'll move up next weekend.
There are some interesting hands from today:
This is a play on the river you just never see other regulars make, but I think it's trivial. Almost his whole range is not calling. + Show Spoiler +

Nothing much else of note really. I'll have pictures in the next blog entry, promise.
So i stopped blogging after every session but im still going to post updates so i can have a nice little log of everything!
November so far has been mixed, started out running horribly, broke even for 45k hands or something, ended up like 18 buyins below allin EV as well as all kinds of ridiculous coolers, including set over set over set on the flop, and getting KK vs AA no less than 7 times in a 4k hand session, i won 1 of them though so EV doesnt lie!
Anyway last week has been good though and ive hit a bit of an upswing, im still ~13 buyins under EV but cant complain when my winnings r goin up!
Already played more hands than last month (my previous highest volume month!) so im well on track to log a really high volume month!
Im going for the $2k milestone and need a little over 50k VPP's to do it which i should make comfortably if i keep the pace up, which i intend to!
Spent today also playing a bunch of tournaments, not so successful so far but I'm still in two including the FTOPS ME and sunday 2nd chance. Hopefully I can follow up this blog entry with a 500k day blog post :D
edit: lol cursed, just busted out of both tourneys 5 mins after posting this.
I'm looking for a one time stake for the FTOPS Main Event $500+35 that starts in 20 minutes.
I think im +EV in the tournament due to blind structure and im trustworthy, TimDawg, Baal, etc can vouch for me. Unfortunately, I no longer can afford $500's with my BR but I think I can score good.
I moved up to NL50 today with 50BI to be a little bit on the cautious side. Really a thin shot but hey, I can always move down when I lose a couple BI right?
As I am Steady Eddie, The Grinder, I played whopping 5 hours and played more hands than Doyle Brunson can play in two days nonstop.
Really my brain is spinning from all the hands I played and my multitasking skills were pushed to the max.
Winrate was somewhat ok, I guess it always can be worse so I don't complain.

im really interested in playing MTTs and just wondering what some general advice is. besides:
a) playing tight pre-ante
b) playing aggresive on the bubble
c) abuse the button
d) run good
i just played in another and got itm (47th) by losing jj v tt aipf for my stack.
tell me where i went wrong in this hand, or is it WP:
villain was around 32/28, folded to 3 bets often, never got to the river without a big action going on

first session after slowhabitby PplusAD, November 15
Well i dont know what to say
I feel like reborn and at the same time i hate it that the book is so good and many other midstakes grinders will read it and improve....
only played a short 1h session at NL50 6max 2 tabling trying to implement some of the stuff i red in the book.
I only 2 tabled cause i really wanted to have time to think about the concepts of SLowhabits book and implement it in the game.
I have only read book for 2hours so far and i think its a long way till i will be able to successfuly implement all the concepts into 8-12 tabling 6max ( what i usually do)
Very important note -> i didnt win one single big pot with a strong hand except for the very first hand of the session where i won 50$ nut straight vs set
So besides losing the KK vs AK preflop and winning the Straight vs Set setup ( which almost equals out)
I made ~ 2BI in 390 hands simply by winning 20-45$pots making regulars fold frequently.
ofc i got lucky that i didnt run into monsters , too
but i defenitely did bet in some spots where i never ever considerd betting before reading the book
the thing vs regulars just is that they know that both of u are nits.
99% of the time a regular expects another regular to play straightforward face up and have strong hands.
well
ALl small sample and stuff i know
But the important point is !
There is definitely tons of money to be made vs regulars in spots where u never considerd to bet since u are a TAG nit yourself
GL All
I will make a bigger review about the book some days in the future
