| | New Favorite Show by k2o4, May 26
I've taken shit for posting about this show in the past and it was well deserved, cause during season 1 the show was cheesy as hell and the special effects/fights were all pretty crap. Even the beginning of season 2 was weak. So what show am I talking about? What show is now my favorite?
http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//legend-of-the-seeker-poster1.jpg
The 2nd half of season 2 has put this show into the "awesome" category. The special effects and fight scenes suddenly got good and the writing got fantastic. The stories were always interesting and entertaining, but more in a "Kevin Sorbo is Hercules" kinda way. I think someone else got involved in directing or editing or something, cause suddenly it's a whole new show. But it still has enough fun cheesy moments to satisfy.
Let's examine what this show is all about:
* Cheesy - Check
* Main character that looks like Link from Zelda - Check
* Female lead who's boobs hang out often - Check
* Ugly old dude that looks like really could be a wizard - Check
* Sword fighting - Check
* Using magic in the story to create unique story lines - Check
* Hot blond girl in red leather who dominates you with a pain inducing dildo - Check
Let's confirm with some photo evidence:
http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//seeker2.jpg
"I'm the Seeker and I'm ready to kick some ass... hey, where's my boomerang? And why isn't Epona here, I need a ride to the castle to defeat Gannond... I mean Lord Raul!"

"I'm the lead chick and this dress is built for cleavage, though this picture isn't so flattering"
http://premium1.uploadit.org/IAElitesquad//bridget_regan_0004.jpg
"Ahh, there we go, one of my better cleavage shots"
http://www.galacticawatercooler.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/zed.jpg
"I'm an ugly old SOB but I can burn you with Wizards fire"
http://www.twotalkingmonkeys.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/legend-of-the-seeker-season-2-cara.jpg
"Ready to be beaten... and love it?"
When they were first premiering the first season of this show they did a live interview with the actors who were filming in New Zealand on like channel 2... it was a horrible interview but I think that helped cause in my pitty for them I got curious about the show. Watched the first few episodes and was reminded of the old Hercules TV show with Kevin Sorbo. It was ok, not great, and I stopped watching.
Then I was watching TV late one night on Sci-Fi and they were doing a Seeker Marathon, but they were doing the episodes in some crazy random order. And the later episodes were pretty good and the story had gone in directions I hadn't predicted. I got curious again. So I went and found it on netflix and watched all of season 1. Totally loved it despite all the ways it's cheesy and stupid.
Now season 2 is coming to an end and the writing is kinda like LOST but things actually MAKE SENSE. It's so nice. Totally love this show right now.
(PS - Yes, I reposted a bunch of stuff from an old blog. I'm lazy)

| | Dealing with overly aggressive donks NL 25 rush by Carthac, May 26
Moved up to NL25 rush today. Finding something I did not see at NL10 rush; I am being raised at least one out of every 3 pots that sees the flop, whether I am out of position or in position.
I am still unsure of how to deal with these, as I do not have a lot of experience with the limit, nor a lot of HH on the players I am playing with. I literally am finding people raising me 4x'ing my bet on the flop, and clicking the fold to bet box if I go all in, even if they are basically priced in. However, I am running into the situation of cbetting dry boards with A-10+ hands in position, and am unsure of how to deal with reraises on relatively dry boards.
Should I be checking behind more on dry flops? Should I be flatting and seeing how they react on the turn? Should I fold and just allow them to bluff me and catch them when I do have a hand?
Would appreciate some help. Thanks!
P.S. Of course I understand this is definitely different in every situation. I was just wondering if there was a general strategy I should be following when dealing with these types of situations

| | another hand review by mnj, May 26
would like any comments on all of these hands including bet sizing. be as critical as you desire, rip apart my play~
hand 1
+ Show Spoiler +
FLOP floated flop because of his weak bet sizing,TURN turn bet is a bit more convincing but i think once i call this turn villain will fire river very few times, RIVER luck boxed a 7, but after seeing a triple barrel i think it's easy to put him on a K here or some super thin value from AA, QQ; is my raise too large here? theres 170 in pot and he needs to call about 130 to win 300 i think.
hand 2
+ Show Spoiler +
FLOP i flop the nuts, rainbow board, pretty invulnerable to all draws so i opt to flat flop. do you think a raise looks bluffier?TURN i think i absolutely raise too much on turn; raising to 50-60 is better?
hand 3
+ Show Spoiler +
FLOP using the half pot bet on flop/turn coulda potentially been disasterous, flop isn't too drawy i don't think but turn card is kinda meh.TURN QJ, J8, 86 all got there but these are pretty unlikely. i think QQ JJ, AT all can potentially call another bet, what do you think of sizing?
hand 4
+ Show Spoiler +
FLOP kinda lost here on the flop, don't really like to c/call but considering it's a 4 way pot it's probably best to just check re-eval?TURN my bet size is so gay, i doubt that utg floated me, so i don't mind so much betting smaller/folding but it's almost asking to get bluffed off of =.= at the same token, if i led this small wiht a set or draw, it could be super s3xy to jam

I just busted out of a $5 tourney (I've been donking around in like 1 small tourney/day. I was 3 people from the money and I was clearly the best player at the table.
Well my point is that it feels really really shitty to bust out of a tournament around the bubble. IDK if I can play tournies

| | starting again by bober1, May 25
So I just graduated college and came back home a week ago. I have about 4 months before I start grad school at UC San Diego, so I need to make as much money as I can before then. So I started playing 100nl rush poker this past week. Here the results:
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/9996/100nlrush.jpg
Agh! Running bad and playing like an idiot too. Oh well, hopefully things start going better soon.
I did just play this gem though:

| | WSOP Action Selling by PanoRaMa, May 25
PanoRaMa WSOP Schedule 2010
June 19th 12:00 Event #36: No-Limit Hold’em (4-day) 1000
June 23rd 12:00 Event #42: No-Limit Hold’em (3-day) 1500
June 26th 12:00 Event #47: No-Limit Hold’em (4-day) 1000
July 2nd 5:00 Event #56: No-Limit Hold’em (3-day) 2500
July 5th/6th 12:00 Event #57: No-Limit Hold'em Championship 10000
Total BI: 16000
Hi everyone, I'm selling action on my WSOP schedule. I will only sell it in a bundle, meaning you have to buy as a % of my schedule (and total buy ins) and not pick and choose events. However I might allow for people to specifically buy only Main Event action (but those buying the schedule have priority obviously). I'm selling at 1.1:1, which to my knowledge is slightly undercutting my value due to how soft these events are (note I'm not playing any of the more expensive tourneys that draw the better players). Here is a link to my OPR: http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/...72A9F1834667AFBB98919BF5C928.html?t=2
Some background information:
My notable cashes include placing 1st in the Fifty-fifty last year for 12k, 1st in a 23k KO gtd this year for 6k, and most recently I placed 65/4997 in FTOPS 28 in the few tournaments that I have played in recent times. Admittedly I haven't played many MTTs this year but will begin to in order to stay sharp. As far as live experience, I've placed first in a 2009 Macau Poker Cup charity event for roughly 5.5k, and have been a regular player of PokerStars Macau and PokerStars APPT tournaments beginning the middle of 2009.
Most of my expertise is in 6-max online games, where I am and have been a consistent winner. My PTR located here includes a rough detail of my results so far this year (note the dates on poker timeline). I have documented my results from the past 2 years throughout my blog so you can look through previous entries as well. I am also a regular columnist for Baller Magazine (www.ballermagazine.com) which is a print and online English magazine based in Asia, and have 6 published articles thus far.
I will be providing daily updates to my backers via e-mail (and further correspondence via aim and/or phone if needed!). The way it will work is you will pay me a % of my buy-ins (with a 10% markup, hence the 1.1:1), and I will pay you the appropriate % from my gross winnings. For example, if you buy 10% which is 1760 (16000 * .10 *1.1), and I win 20000 gross amt, I will pay you 2000 - I don't deduct anything.
If interested, please PM me or reply to this topic with your contact information and we will discuss more over AIM/MSN/or Skype. As a side note, I will be giving priority to those who buy more than 5% moreso than those who buy less than 5% (I'll probably cap it at around 40 to 60%, we'll see). Thanks!
