close to fixing my PTR resultsby whamm!, August 17

25/50 in swedish crowns is like something between 3/6 and 5/10$ and 85kSEK is ~11500$
nice to say the least! mostly its been 2-3 tabling some SH and HU when the bumhunters leave the tables and stuff, standard, alot of 3 handed.
its all played 200bb deep as its a standard buy in on the site i play at so the dynamic switches alot too like in all other deep games, like 200bb is the new 100bb standard AK vs JJ flips pre and stuff (even if there is no ante) the games play very aggro.
overall the month ive played like 15k hands or something, kinda breakevenish on the lower stakes 10/20 most played, kinda like 1/2-2/4$) and dumped alot on omaha
but feels good, last month shot on 25/50 didnt end to well, ran alot under EV and ended down like 10 buy ins on the shot, so it feels very good to have been crushing so far.
the games dont run to often but i try to play them as often as they run since its a small network. but mostly there is like 1-4 games running 24/7 so its np.
still up a decent amount on the month, and as i had a monstermonth last month aswell im feeling very good atm overall!
have been playing alot alot of sc2, have cleared the whole campaign in brutalmode for the sweet kerrigan avatar, but mostly grinding 1on1 diamond league. getting better and better but since i didnt play much in the beta im behind the topplayers by far still.
but overall, very happy dude overall, just got single for the first time since i was 16 (22 now) and it feels good, started training again and playing sc2 + moving up stakes catching heaters is always nice.
no more 24 tabling depression whine from me.

Platinum for August and an all-nighterby vltava, August 17
So, ~1000 points away from Platinum yesterday morning, I hit the $15+1 SNG's hard, getting in eight sets of twenty-four between 10 AM and 9 PM, posting a loss of $61. I had about 45 points to go as I finished my last session and Carol walked in the door, and I wanted to catch the first episode of the new season of Weeds at 10:00, so I set down the laptop in front of the TV, fired up a dozen or so PLO tables, and hit Platinum as the show was starting. Woot! After the show we watched a little WSOP, but my would-be short little PLO session had some unintended consequences, and while Carol turned in for the night, my session blossomed into a compulsion to continue playing until I couldn't keep my eyes open. I ended up packing it in at 5 AM, up one buy-in, which was nice, since I had been down most of the night, reaching a low point of minus six buy-ins. Some good learning experiences. I mostly played better than I had in my previous session, although apparently I needed an object lesson that there's no good reason for flip for stacks with junk aces when you're three buy-ins deep - who knew?
In addition to my various other adventures, I'm hitting the 11:15 AM 3R every weekday on Stars. First is always over 10k; go go Rail Heaven someday soon!
Well it has been about 2 weeks since I decided that I was going to try and grind online poker again like I used to do in college years ago, but this time do it for real. My roll started about 2 months ago actually, I left my job with Greenpeace and was sick of working really medial jobs for the past few years and felt no desire to go out into the job market and look for a boring $10 / hr job.
I talked to my girlfriend and I told her about poker, and my best friend vouched for me and told her that I did make a decent amount of money when we were in college playing. So, one night I went out to my friends 21st birthday and a few drinks and ran home. Immediately I put $100 on FTP to mess around with. I decided that the $100 didn't matter much to me and I would play 100NL 6-max rush. I know bad bankroll management but it's ok I was taking a shot. I ran that up in 3 hours to $400 and decided to quit and take out the $100 I originally put on.
That left me with $300 to play 10nl 6-max rush with. I started grinding a few hours a day but I had a lot of things to do with DHS and applying for community college classes and other things that I wasn't putting in great volume. I also had one of my roommates standing over my shoulder while I played asking questions which was extremely annoying and caused some absolutely terrible play. I ended up down $100 after those couple weeks.
At $200 I took that friend to the airport and he told me that he wanted $100 transfered on FTP and he would give me $100 cash. I took the offer and contemplated playing 5NL since I wasn't rolled but I took a chance and continued 10NL. So, Aug 1st I decided that every hour my girlfriend worked at subway I would play poker in starbucks right across the parking lot. I have put in about ~50K hands so far and my BR is at $497 with some rakeback coming on Friday.
So, I'm extremely excited about this, and am looking to move up to 25NL in June if a downswing doesn't occur. I have pokertracker, but I have no idea how to upload the stats and graphs on Liquidpoker because even though I am doing well, I know I have a lot of leaks that I can improve on. Especially with 3 bet calling 3 betting and 2nd and 3rd barreling.
But other than that so far so good I can't really complain. Goodluck at the tables everyone!
Past week i have done some test coaching with JSquids and Haivan to see if it was something i enjoyed and whether i have something to offer to SSNL player's.
It was very cool to do this. I observed very different playstyles from my own and tried to offer them some advice that fits well within their own styles. I was quite impressed with the level of play. That JSquids was quite good wasn't that surprising as he is playing 100nl already (was still impressed though).
But Haivan was doing well too. It is very cool to see how everyone is developing and thinking about their game. I think this coaching also gives me better insight in how many villains are approaching the game, so i have to thank my voluntary students for that It is a pleasure to help thinking players like them ahead.
I haven't done the coaching with Fuddyan yet but since he is dutch we are trying to set it up so he comes over to my office here in Amterdam.
All in all i think i definitely have a lot to offer if you play 50nl or lower. 100nl players that want to make a transition to playing Headsup could also learn a lot from me. That has always been my specialty and ill be happy to give coaching in that area.
There was a lot of demand for free coaching on my last blog. I can't give away free hours to everyone as i have stuff to do as well. So i'm going to start teaching for $30/hour.
But i figured i wanted to give everyone at SSNL a chance to see how much they can get out of 1on1 coaching. Therefore i'm giving away 1 hour of coaching per person at an introduction rate of $15 to everyone that applies before august 20!
I played 1 million hands breakeven and no one believed in me, but i never gave up the fight. Yeah, now I'm on top and moneys falling from the sky.

Unfortunately i couldn't win key flips deep in the ftops and whatnot but as usual i'm not disappointed in my play. I am, however, upset with the amount of volume I've been putting in at the casino. Now obviously some of that is a function of FTOPs and me playing a bunch of tourneys but also since before June I really haven't played enough live cash and have slowly been spending money and not really earning any. So it's back to the grind where I'm going to set an ambitious (for me) goal of 50 hours per week logged at the casino between now and WCOOP starting/when I leave for New Zealand for APPT (Sep 5th/12th respectively).
That gives me a lil under 3 weeks where I'll need to accumulate 150 hours of live poker. If I hit 150 I'll be happy given my current average of less than 40 hours a month for this year. pathetic. As far as a profit goal...I guess I'll set one since I really do need to win some money. I haven't made a dime all year. I'm stuck like 200 bucks for the year after 7.5 months of grinding. Part of it not grinding enough, part of it just bricking all tournaments (up like 50k in cash down 50k in tourneys). But no excuses, if i played more cash I'd have a lot more money laying around. $ goal set at 20k or $133 per hour if I do 150 hours at 5/10. Seems reasonable.
I'll update at the mid-point either 75 hours or 10k won or Aug 27 whichever comes first. Wish me work ethic!
A lot of things has happened last 30 days, went on a 25 day euro trip by train with a friend, got home and moved to another city the next day and the day after that, i started school.
Berlin for 16h, spent most of the time walking around the city, big ass buildings and long ass streets. Amsterdam for 3 days, really nice city and nice ppl. Too many "weed tourists" though, that thinks Amsterdam is AWESOME, weed is AWESOME, and being high is AWESOME.
Paris for 2 days, spent most time walking around watching nice architecture. Barcelona for 8 days, a friend from school is "top dog" at a squat and he invited us to stay. The place smelled, had no water, you had to go to a public toilet if you wanted to take a shit, but it was good enough, free and the people were really nice. According to him, it's one of BRC's nicest squats, most others are mega filthy, and often ran by junkies and smack heads (also according to him). Marseilles for 1 day, spent it walking around. Very beautiful city. Zagreb for 1 day, spent it walking around as well, beautiful but not as beautiful as Marseilles. Split for 4 days, this was probably the place I liked the most. BRC and AMS were great as well in their way, but I think this was my favourite city. People say swedish girls are beautiful, Split is waaaay ahead in that league. Fuck me dead, it was insane. The town was very beautiful as well, the people were extremely helpful and nice. We wanted to go to Dubrovnik but there were no trains going there. If you're going to dubrovnik i highly recommend you to stay in Split for a couple of days.
Spent a grand total of 114h on trains, most of them were night trains and we never had beds.

I should also mention that Neilly wanted to send me $1k+ in the beginning of the month, but couldn't get a hold of me since i was out traveling. And on the 14th when i got back, he sent 1166 + 2333. And plz, don't spam this blog about Neilly related shit, do so in his blog.
Played a bunch of PLO 50 on Stars yesterday, profiting about four buy-ins. I don't think I played all that great; the games are very soft and you can get the money just by nutpeddling. I would have been up more than twice as much if I had just folded the second nuts more often.
Reached the 15k VPP threshold and cashed in the $50 "stellar reward". BR at $1590 after transferring $100 to a friend on Stars to cover borrowings to enter more satellites at the Bike.
Thursday at the Bike, won one STT sat for $530 (with the second and third place finishers whining about deals along the way) but I think I played six others without success. My play probably came off the rails a bit. I am not gathering enough information about players I play with repeatedly. I also loosened up a bit in the early stages, speculating a bit more, in light of the fact that it's winner-take-all. In retrospect I think this was an error. The games are so soft, that spending chips on speculation just makes your double-up smaller when someone gets it in against you in really bad shape, and also forces you to make a stand earlier.
Interesting hand: first deal of an $80 sat, I am UTG+1 ten-handed. 2k chips, 25/25. The UTG player has not taken his seat yet. I have As3h and muck. The dealer has not collected the UTG player's cards yet, so I check them and he has AdAh. I say nothing and push them all towards the muck. Two players limp behind me, Barbara Enright raises to 75 in the cut-off, the blinds call, and the two limpers call. So with 375 in the pot, the flop is K66 with two diamonds and it gets checked around. The turn is the five of diamonds. The SB bets 200, it's folded to Enright who pops it to 800, the SB mulls a bit and mucks the K5o face up.
I wonder what she had. KK has only one combination and her preflop raise was dreadfully small, but it seems plausible. She did not have a king with the Ad, because the UTG player had the red aces. She could have had a hand like JTdd or 76 suited, which makes more sense, but I still think the stack sizes are wrong for a preflop pot-builder raise with a suited connector, since the pot would have been large enough for an all-in bet on the river to be close to the size of the pot if she just limped and flopped a big hand or a big draw and got there by the river, assuming there would be a pot size bet on each street. She couldn't have had KQdd, since the Kd was on the board, so it's a mystery. I would discount a bluff or a semi-bluff, since the SB's play looks exactly like he has a six until he starts thinking and folds.

I've been an atheist for about 4 years or so and lately I've become more active in the atheist community. I'm dicussing and learning more about atheism and religions. Problem is I have a lot of religious friends. Being more active in the atheist community made me start looking to some of my friends like if they are dumb lol, not that I stoppped to like them or that I keep trying to tell them how dumb they are, it's just that I don't feel as good as I felt before around people that follow such things. I can't stand the idea that my friends believe that shit, that they don't even stop to think about what they believe. I know most of LP is atheist and I didn't want an opnion on a atheist forum, so here I ask: should I stop being active so I can feel better around most of my friends? should I learn how to ignore their believes? I hate to dicuss religion with religious people so to try change them is really not an option.
I'm afraid I'm becoming kinda dumb myself, I really don't know... I know some religious ppl feel bad around an atheist cause they can't stand one person that doesn't accept his god, so maybe I'm becoming like that but in a atheist way? I dunno
