After a while of failed pokerstars deposits, I have now taken poker to the serious level. Ive made a new name Chordite on PS from Jubert69. Im playing pure sng style. 40X buyins per each level. Hopefully its going to work well. I am currently playing 3.40 turbo sngs and started with 45 today and ended with 178. Hopefully that won't go down.

| | A few hands from today by SneakrFreakr, January 28
1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138682
Feels nice to hit a 2-outer on turn
2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138686
Pretty standard. After he just called on the flop I was pretty sure that he's got either KK with Ks or QQ with Qs, as he would've raise with an ace.
3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138690
Villain seemed to be decent and agressive so a squeeze play was quite likely here but still I gave up pretty easily. What do you think about this hand?
4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138692
Standard? Well I thinks so, especially since I was getting reraised small quite a few times. What do you think?
5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138693
Villain was reraising pretty lightly, making squeeze plays quite frequently and I picked up on it and followed my read. And I was right.

| | Umm I guess I'm back by SneakrFreakr, January 28
So.. I have no idea what to start with. Haven't been posting for a while (forgot password to my previous blog so now I'll be posting here). A while? Well maybe a little longer. Ok - more than 3 months. Fair enough.
For those who don't know me I'm a 19 year old guy from Poland who moved to the UK (Manchester) in October last year. From September 2007 I'm going to study business and management. I finished high school in Poland in May last year and I decided to go on a gap year and save some money before uni time. I've been playing poker for a little more than 1 year (but loads of lengthy breaks) and that's why I'm still grinding NL100 and taking shots at NL200. I think that's all you need to know if you haven't been reading my previous blog.
Right, so let's see what I've been doing for the last few months. Well I was supposed to have my broadband set up and ready like a week after arriving in Manchester but.. I got it in the end of December (fuck BT). Typical. So for 3 months I've been working as a waiter etc. During this time I played barely no poker. I only went to circus casino in manchester and apparently finished 3rd in £20 rebuy and ended up winning £1000 (about $2000). For the first half of January I was busy with my university applications so I started playing again just a few days ago. I was planning to quit my job and just play poker in the end of february/beginning of may but yesterday I had a bad day at work and was really fed up with everything so I decided to quit. And so I did. The worst part is that I'll have to work for about 10 more days because of the 2-weeks notice. But I can handle it. I can't wait to start a new life style. Well don't think that I'm nuts or sth and how could I've decided to play fulltime nl100. I've got some savings etc. and money for a few months of living plus my bankroll so I don't have to worry about anything. I just want to try sth new. I'll see how the things will be going till september but I'm going to the uni fo shizzle.
I'm not sure what's my bankroll because it's divided between few rooms and neteller. Ok let's count it. So now it's about 5,6k so I think I'll continue playing nl100 till I get to 7-8k and then I'll give nl200 another shot (3rd I think). Right now I'm playing on Stars cause I need to get my party rakeback set up again and I don't like FTP lately. Oh of course I play only 6max tables (I hate fullrings, well except for live games). For the last few days I've played a bit and I must say that I've been running pretty bad but still made a good profit and maintained a solid winrate. Here are my stats so far:
http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5823/19697459ds6.jpg
Considering the number of suckouts I had in 200bb+ pots, this results are simply awesome. I feel I've been playing pretty well but I also made some stupid bluffs against wrong/unknown opponents and it should've never happened. I thing I haven't made any bad calls in large pots and I've made a few big laydowns (I'm pretty sure I was right in most cases though). I'm trying to work on my post flop play and agression and I'm really happy to see that my "Won $ WSF %" went up by about 8-10%. Now I'm just going to continue grinding low limits online and untill I finish working at my restaurant I won't be able to play that much but later my goal is about at least 2k hands daily (let's make it 50k a month) while 4 tabling. But in 2 weeks I think I'll start 6 and 8 tabling again so the numbers will go up.
Apart from playing online I'm also going to play some live cash games. Last week I went to play a bit live but the lowest stakes were $2/$2 pot limit so its about $4/$4 so I can't play these games comfortably yet. But I can't wait to get a proper bankroll for them (let's say 20-25 buyins will be enough for live games, what do you think about it?) cause they're ridiculously soft. I think nl25 online is even tougher nowadays. Last time I would end up winning about £600 (=$1200) but I was running terribly (i.e. I've got 77, flop 7TA, turn T, river K, and this wanker showed me his KT) and overal I was down about £100. But I've also found 2 other casinos with texas holdem in Manchester and tommorow I'll probably try out one of them. I hope they'll have some nl£100 or even nl£50 games running.
I probably forgot about some important stuff but if you want to know anything just post a comment.
Oh and one more thing. New episode of Prison Break airs tommorow! Seriously the best tv show ever.

| | Salvaged a bad session by DonVale, January 28
After some pretty horrible beats and what not and losing like 3 buyins i sprung back and was 3 buyins up for the day.
Here are my stats and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I need to tighten up or not. Thanks in advance
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1652 hands and saw flop:
- 179 out of 247 times while in big blind (72%)
- 69 out of 255 times while in small blind (27%)
- 161 out of 1150 times in other positions (14%)
- a total of 409 out of 1652 (24%)
Pots won at showdown - 51 of 92 (55%)
Pots won without showdown - 109
This was my longest session to date so I'm pretty happy about that.
Also, I hate those 180 man sngs lol because I always get to top 40 and then it's a crapshoot from there. Hope all is well with everyone else!

"Luck is probability taken personally"
So I read that somewhere and stole it to put as my MSN-quote. Dunno where I read it, but it might’ve been in some sign on this forum or 2+2 or something. Whatever, it’s a really nice quote and I think that there’s a lot to learn from it. I was really upset in the beginning of the session because I keept losing to bad beats vs shortstacks, like AJ vs A3 allin on a J73 board for 50 bb or so and he gets a 3 on the turn. I did however continue to play and suddenly I started to hit some hands and now I’m up like 2 BIs for the day. The funniest hand by far was when I raised TJs from the CO or the position before CO, can’t remember, and some dude reraises me to 9 (ie; 5 to call for me) and we’re both 150bb or so deep. I call and knows that he pretty much have AA-QQ or AK here 95% of the time. As I said, I hate minreraises. The flop comes something like JT and a rag rainbow and I check/raised him kinda strongly since I didn’t want some evil scarecard to come off. He reraised me again and I thought that he might have JJ or TT, but since I’ve got JT that’s unlikely and I put him allin. He called and showed AA and my two pairs held up. The he said this;
FishyGambler> you should re-consider your life, dusty
I love it when I take money from people who plays really stupid. Much better then sucking out or winning coinflips.

| | Swingy days by Joe, January 28
Last few days things didnt go exactly as expected. After the big losing day, I played quite a lot the very next day. Swinging it up and down several times, being +$400 at one moment only to find myself being -$300 an hour later.
In the end of the day my score stopped at +$67 after almost 7 hours of play. Could have been flipping burgers instead. I also played 1 table of PLO10 for about an hour and made about $25. So PLO10 >>> NL200
Things didnt go well even outside poker that day. I went to my training (i play handball and soccer competitively) and after about 10 minutes I got an ankle injury. Its nothing really serious, but i cant do sports for about a week now which kinda suxx since I have like 3+ trainings in my usual week. And I also planned to go snowboarding on Saturday, because the winter and snow finally came to my country (the weather is strange this winter), but with my injured ankle i was not able to go.
Saturday
So since my plans for Saturday were gone, I decided to use this extra time to play some more poker. But again, things didnt exactly go my way, so after about 5 hours of swinging it up and down i was down $5. I had a break for a few hours and then i played some more in the evening. "Not a wise decision", I thought after a while when I was down to -$650. But finally things started to go my way a bit and soon I was back to zero. Feels kinda good after u were down $650
Then when I was just about to call it a session, this hand came: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138157. For those who are lazy to look, I hit the nut flush on the turn after a lot of flop action and got paid by a slowplayed overpair of Queens. Since villain had almost 200bb stack and i had him covered, the pot was huge - $784. It was probably the biggest pot I ever won. So after this hand I was about +$400 for the day. I played a few more hands and ended the day +$340. No big score but I was very satisfied after such a sick swingy day.
Tourneys
Besides cash games, I also entered a few tournaments. Worth mentioning is one of them - the $10+$1 rebuy tournament on Stars, 35K GTD. The actual prizepool was about 68K or so, with the first prize of more than 12K. About 1480 entrants. Since I didnt have a lot of money in my Stars account, I wasnt able to play the rebuy period the maniac way, so I took a tight approach and tried to take advantage of those villing to gamble their way up. I managed to double up soon, but only to lose it all back when my AA got cracked by T4s allin preflop. I double rebought for the last money I had on Stars and kept waiting for decent hands. I got almost none in the rest of rebuy period though, so I my stack after at the first break was about 5,500. I didnt take addon (no money + really short stack).
But things went good in the next hour and I somehow managed to get up to above average stack before the 2nd break. I took advantage of the luxury of being able to wait for good hands and was playing basically no hands in the next hour other than a few uncalled raises in late position. The first bubble (180 ppl ITM) was coming and I still had slightly above avg stack. I didnt try to abuse the bubble cuz I had some pretty big stacks behind me and I also didnt think people care about this bubble at all. I wasnt getting any playable hands at that time and didnt feel like going aggro, so I basically kept paying blinds and waiting.
Soon the field was down to 100 players and my stack was slightly below average. Then I picked up KJs in early position and decided to try and steal some - I had a pretty tight image so i thought it was unlikely anyone would call. I pushed allin (my M was about 7). But to my surprise 2 people called - one of them loose bigstack and one shortie. To even bigger surprise, I had them both dominated - the big stack turned over KT and the shortie T7, so I only had to avoid 2 tens and 3 sevens. I managed to avoid those 5 cards and suddenly my stack was really big - 160k, while avg was about 100k. There was like 85 people left at the moment.
The very next hand i picked up AQ and raised it to 3bb. The big stack who just lost to me pushed allin (he was now rather short) and I decided to call. He had 33 and I lost the flip. I was down to about average stack. Few hands later, I picked up AJs in middle position. A loose player before me minraised it and I pushed (my M at that time was againt just about 7, or maybe even less, blinds were huge already). The initial raiser folded, as did everyone else, but a big stack in the small blind, who happened to have QQ. The flop came AKx and I was there going to double up! But, after a moment of joy, the turn came and brought a Queen. River didnt bring a Ten, so I was out.
Ended 75th for a prize of $132. Was feeling pretty bad. Not sure if the AJs hand was a mistake. Anyway I made a net profit of 132-41 = $91. Not bad but it didnt help me feel any better.
Here is the graph of my Saturdays roller coaster session:

| | Session 19 by Kapol, January 28
I tried NL100 once more and from now on I'm folding KK pre-flop. But let's start from the beginning. I played some good poker, and I managed to win 3xBI. "Well done, sir" - i told myself:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138316
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138317
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138318
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138319
As I said earlier, now more playing with KK (yea... ):
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138314
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138315
And suddenly:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138320
I don't think if I made a mistake here, my opponent was a very tight player, so I put him on AA or KK (but when he didn't raise the turn I was sure of AA). Maybe I should have check-called on the river... A tough one for me. Any thoughts?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/138323
This time I played vs a very loose opponent, so he could have had almost anything, AQ/AJ/AK/TT and so on. He also could have had sth like QJ or T9 but most of the time I'll be ahead against a player like this in this situation.
Anyway:
Hands:1,476
Balance:+$67
Total hands: 3,081
Total balance: -$221.05

So last night I'm hanging out with yomer, milkman, craigerson and theres a poker room that yomer and craigerson go to so we go there and theres a 50+5 tourny with $30 add-on. So all cept milkman who is a cheap bastard play in it. Somehow I luckbox my way to 2nd for $600 and the biggest cash I've ever had. I was seriously down to like 20k chips with blinds 5K 10K and I runner runnered a flush with 88 vs a set of 4s. Then I sucked ass at HU and finished 2nd. Still was a good cash and really good for my BR.
